Hotel Boutique Mirlo Barcelona (Barcelona, Catalonia) 1 Verified Reviews | Tablet Hotels

"Unlike the majority of Barcelona’s luxury hotels, Hotel Mirlo Barcelona isn’t in the city center. “Mirlo” means “blackbird” in Spanish, the concept being that guests explore the city by day — about a 20-minute drive or metro ride away — and return to the nest when they please. In addition to greenery and tranquility, this stately villa-turned-hotel offers romantic but modern suites, each with private spa features (some combination of hammam, Jacuzzi, rainfall shower, hydromassage tub, and sauna, or in the case of the swish Suite Mirlo, all of the above). There are lots of places to relax, from gorgeous gardens and a quiet courtyard swimming pool to a cozy library and a sun-filled indoor-outdoor restaurant and bar. The only problem might be working up the energy to leave the place and head into the city. Luckily, Parc Güell, also outside the city proper, is just ten minutes’ drive away." - Tablet Hotels

Lovely hotel, everybody was nice. Location is great. Rooms are great. The only thing that should have been though is that you have no place to put a towel from when you come out of the shower. Since the shower was across the jacuzzi you have to walk wet and get it there as it is the closest place. Sometimes I wonder if designers or architects think about the actual use of things. The rest was nice. Just a suggestion!

We stayed at Hotel Boutique Mirlo in the beginning of May 2025, and were truly impressed with the hotel, the quality, the service, and the location of this property. The hotel is located on the outskirts of Barcelona, away from the hustle and bustle of the inner city, yet still easily accessible by public transportation (bus/metro). There is a bus stop right in front of the hotel for the bus to Placa Catalunya, or you can walk to nearby bus stops, as well as the L7 subway station. The hotel is beautifully appointed and features a lush garden, gazebo and pool area. The gardens sure make it seem you are more in a countryside setting, rather than in the middle of a metropolitan city. Absolutely beautiful place to sit in the shade, sip some cava or read a book. We were booked in a Junior Suite, which was modern and beautifully appointed. It featured a large King size bed, a large, round Jaccuzzi tub, as well as a walk in (Steam) shower, and a personal Sauna. The room also had a small mini fridge, stocked with drinks (for a fee), as well as an espresso maker, and free bottled water, which was restocked every evening. The room was spacious, well maintained, and very clean. The bed was cozy, comfortable, with a variety of different pillows, from soft to memory foam. The restaurant in the hotel was wonderful. We had dinner, as well as the included breakfast every morning. Definitely would recommend to eat dinner there at least once! The staff was absolutely phenomenal and went above and beyond. We were warmly greeted upon our arrival, and the staff always made sure we had everything we needed. Thank you very much for an amazing experience while we were in Barcelona. We will most definitely stay at Hotel Boutique Mirlo again when we return to Barcelona. A true 5-star experience!

BEWARE OF COCKROACHES. I am thoroughly disappointed with my stay and treatment at Mirlo. My family and I spent a week at this hotel in June. It was our first time travelling with our baby and also a trip to celebrate our anniversary. Everything was fine until one morning we found a large cockroach right beside our hotel bed. My husband killed it and we brought it to the attention of hotel staff. The presence of the bug was shocking enough, but the hotel's response was not up to par with its price point or 5 star reputation. The concierge told us that the presence of the cockroach was NORMAL. Perhaps cockroaches are "normal" at THIS hotel, but I have never seen a cockroach before in any other accomodation I have stayed in throughout the world. Friends who have stayed in Spain for extended periods similarly told us they have never seen a cockroach during their vacations. The hotel only offered to clean the room as per usual housekeeping. At first they wouldn't change our rooms, but after we insisted they offered us a different room. They claimed it was a room of the same category that we had booked but it was clearly smaller and there was nowhere for us to place our stroller. As a result, we spent a restless night in the original room just hoping there would not be any more cockroaches. The next day as we were leaving the hotel director offered to call a cab and asked if we wanted breakfast. At this point our cab was already waiting outside for us, and the offer of free breakfast was too little too late. He claimed the only reason he could not provide us with any compensation was because we had booked through Expedia. However, upon contacting Expedia, Expedia advised us that the hotel was refusing to provide any sort of resolution. During this entire debacle, we felt that the hotel was dismissive of our concerns and did not take it seriously. I cannot recommend staying at this hotel despite the beautiful interior. It simply is not worth the unnerving fear of waking up with a cockroach crawling across your body. After we got home, we had to be very careful when unpacking as I was afraid a cockroach may have stowed a ride back home with us. This should NOT be the standard for a hotel of this price or rating.

A cozy place with a friendly staff and good service. This hotel is ideal for those who do NOT wish to live in the middle of Tourist-filled areas. The suites with hammam, sauna and jacuzzi - are worth the extra pay, especially if you're planning to soak and rest at the end of a full day of sight seeing. The staff has been very engaging and accommodating - room service on point and do include breakfast, totally worth it. Some items of note: - the pool is not heated, so if you're staying in winter - you're unlikely to use it - there is a small driveway behind the hotel where you can park the car - this is not a brand new hotel, but it is well up kept, we saw no issues with rooms or the facility - the neighborhood is mostly universities and embassies, and not too far away from Guell Park - about $10-20 on Uber to Barcelona's main attractions, depending on time of the day, avoid traffic hours, because it may get up to $40 easily. Bolt was always more expensive in comparison. - expect a "city tax" charge upon check out Hope you enjoy your stay!

It’s a great hotel , staff are very friendly and helpful. Lovely restored building, the sauna/shower is amazing great after long day of walking around. They have free water for their guest so that’s handy to not have to worry about buying litres of water. Bed and pillows are very comfortable. I had a lovely relaxing stay. Will come back again.

We have a great stay at Mirlo just before NYE. We booked there for the first time, because we were coming with our dog and car and this was definitely adapted. The fact that it's in av. Tibidabo is awesome and makes it very calm, far from the noises of the city center. We had a little issue at the checkout, and the manager and staff dealt with it perfectly, so just thank you and we wish to come back soon!

One of the best hotels in Barcelona! I stayed there for a weekend, and everything was amazing. The location, the service, the food, the staff – all of it was top-notch. Everyone was super attentive and kind. The hotel has an interesting historic background, and the renovations make it look luxurious. The garden is the perfect place to enjoy a glass of wine in the afternoon. The Deluxe Superior room was incredible, with a jacuzzi and hammam bath that made the stay so relaxing. Hope to come back soon!

We stayed here during our wedding weekend in June. The staff were extremely helpful and kind to us and our family, making our stay very special! The room itself was beautiful, with a big bath tub, sauna and wet room with shower. The food was delicious as well. We will definitely be back in the future.
