Hotel Quinta Ladera (Medellín, Colombia) 2 Verified Reviews | Tablet Hotels

"Many of Medellin’s best hotels are housed in modern high-rises, a fact that makes Hotel Quinta Ladera especially notable. While it’s close by to the museums, this sustainably built 10-room boutique hotel feels like an urban oasis — calm, light-filled, and neatly tucked away from the busy city streets. Lush greenery frames the petite property, with its verdant courtyard gardens and trees illuminated with twinkling lights after dark; thanks to the hotel’s thoughtful design, the indoor-outdoor flow is seamless, creating a treehouse-like atmosphere in garden-facing guest rooms." - Tablet Hotels

I had a lovely 5-day stay here. The physical hotel itself is well designed and tastefully decorated, and the garden is beautiful, giving the feeling of being immersed in a jungle-like setting. It’s a very peaceful place overall. The outdoor ofuro (hot and cold tubs) experience was the highlight of the hotel for me. It’s perfect for recovery, relaxation, and truly winding down after a long day. Front desk service was excellent throughout my stay. Staff were quick, efficient, and almost always available when needed. I also really appreciated the unlimited free glass-bottled water, which is a thoughtful touch that I’ve missed at other hotels. There are two areas that could use improvement. The shower heads were poor quality and could really benefit from an update. Additionally, the complimentary breakfast was quite minimal and consistently left me feeling hungry. I’ve stayed at hotels at a third of the price that offered a much more satisfying breakfast. Overall, a calm and relaxing boutique hotel with standout service and amenities, but with room for improvement in the in-room fixtures and breakfast offering.

Hotel Quinta Ladera is a visually charming boutique property, and the common areas are lovely. However, our room experience unfortunately didn’t meet the expectations for a 4-star stay. We booked two rooms with two double beds each. Despite the clear capacity for four guests, the hotel only allows three per room and charged an additional $40 USD per night for a fourth guest. Given the other issues we reported during our stay, it would have been appreciated if the hotel had shown more flexibility with this policy. The rooms lacked several expected amenities, including a mini fridge, TV, and air conditioning. Ventilation was very limited, which created significant humidity — to the point where our clothing felt damp each morning. The bathrooms also didn’t have extractor fans, and the ceilings showed signs of moisture. Lighting in the rooms was very dim, and we often needed to use our phone flashlights to see clearly. Privacy was also affected because the drapery did not fully close, leaving a visible gap facing the walkway and letting in light at night. Additionally, we found small moth droppings in the beds in both rooms, which we brought to the staff’s attention.

If you’re coming from the US please be aware this hotel has no AC. I’ve been to many “eco” hotels back home and not a single took it to this level. They should advertise that clearly on the website. The rooms feel muggy as there is no ventilation. The sheets and towel STINK, they smell like dirty laundry and the towel quality resembles a kitchen rag or blanket. Eco is great but when you charge $200 a night for room that lacks the bare minimum, you feel ripped off. The lights are poorly dim and there is no privacy in the bathroom. I stayed here with my mom and sister which felt awkward when it came time to shower. We had to undress in the shower and throw our clothes over. I’m surprised this hotel made it on the the Michelin guided, seems like someone had a connection if you ask me.

A very cute and private hotel in a quiet area of town. Walking distance to restaurants, stores and other things. The staff were helpful and friendly when needed. It provides for a very relaxing stay.

We’re a family of 7 and booked two rooms, but it still felt like one shared experience. The layout made it easy to meet up outside, enjoy coffee together, and have a little peace and quiet away from our five teenagers! The rooms were clean, spacious, and full of character. The hotel itself is in a great location—close to everything but still calm and relaxing. The staff were warm, helpful, and truly made us feel welcome. Would absolutely stay here again!

Hotel itself is fine - they do a very good job taking pictures of it. We asked the person at the front desk what time to leave for the airport and we requested a car for that time. They forgot to call the car, and it was not ready at that time. Even if it had been, it’s unlikely we would have made our flight. When we called and informed them that we had missed our flight because of the information they gave us and because they failed to call a car, there was no apology or acknowledgment.

This is a delightful small boutique hotel, in a great location in Medellín. Easy to walk to restaurants, shops etc (yes, it is hilly, ut the whole city is). Super cute hotel- used to be an old colonial home- with lovely places to sit and relax. Complementary coffee, tea, wine, beer, a nice breakfast at the adjacent cafe, comfy rooms and beds, and delightfully friendly staff. What more could you want!? Love it!

This is our second time staying at Quinta Ladera, and it did not disappoint. The hotel is boutique... beautifully decorated, comfortable seating areas, very comforatble and relaxing... an oasis right around the corner from the bustle of Pablano! The staff is lovely and accomodaating. My only suggestion would be a dresser in each room.
