Hotel Brasilito

My wife and I love Hotel Brasilito and its lovely, casual open-air oceanside restaurant-bar, Mar y Tierra. The staff is outstanding! Leo, the manager, is a kind and warm gentleman who makes you feel right at home. Reuben, the bartender (a young Robert Duvall) and Javier the server provide friendly and professional service. We ate there several times and always had excellent meals with great service. It’s a fun place to have drinks, have a quiet beachside meal and watch spectacular sunsets. We stayed in an ocean view room which had an excellent quiet air conditioner that was perfect for sleeping. The room was clean, and the bed was comfy. Listening to the surf from our balcony was wonderful. This is Costa Rica pura vida at its finest!!!

Hotel Brasilito is the Perfect place to experience Pura Vida! The entire staff are so Welcoming and Friendly! Alomdra at Reception is a True Gem! She is so Lovely and Beautiful 🙂! Javier and the entire wait staff at the restaurant Mar y Tierra are Top Notch! The rooms are perfect to meet your needs, just ask for a blow dryer 😉. All the dishes prepared at Mar y Tierra are FABULOUS! I can't speak enough how Great this hidden gem is! Looking forward to when I can come back! 🥰 You gotta Go! 💕

LOVED this hotel!! We had the room overlooking the ocean with a shared patio area which had a hammock and chairs. We could see the howler monkeys, horses, squirrels, cats, dogs, surfers and more, all from our balcony! Plus the STAFF was AMAZING!! We asked them for help every day, whether it was getting a taxi or getting coffee or recommendations, and they always helped and were so friendly, it felt like we were staying in their home, not a hotel. We LOVED it! Not fancy, but rustic and you feel like you are in Costa Rica!! Thank you to the staff for all your help!!

We had only food here which was amazing! Lovely gentleman who served us. And well priced. Great choice after a day in playa Conchal!

Pros: on the beach. Secure entry. Basic needs covered- towel, soap, AC worked great. Walking distance to restaurant and grocery. Staff asked daily if we wanted housekeeping. Cons: roosters crow at 4:45am. Even with sound machine and ear plugs, they woke me. Lots of motorcycle noise/dogs barking/noise in general. It was loud in our room. No hand towel in bathroom. We would stay here again knowing we’d be up very early, wouldn’t bring our kids who aren’t as adaptable to an jnterrupted sleep schedule.

The beach view rooms are okay only if you want to hear the canned music from the restaurant all day. Parking is first come first serve and they don't have enough for everyone. The staff were fine, nothing special. The garden view rooms looked fine and they are quiet. Small but nice pool.

I have very mixed feelings about this place. Obviously a budget option which has to be taken into account. First the location is right on the beach and the view from our room was magnificent. The room itself is quite shabby and the bed is terrible, hard and uncomfortable, by far the worst we have tried in CR. The staff seem disengaged and indifferent. The on site bar/restaurant was not great serving bad drinks and subpar food. Worst of all I had to get up in the middle of the night to tell the night manager to shut off his phone because I could not sleep for the noise he was making playing some TV programme on it. His desk is located just below our room. When we advised the day manager in the morning she could care less.

My husband and I stayed at this hotel for two nights in the ocean view room with the hammock on the balcony, and we loved it! The views of the beach were stunning, and the hammock and balcony offered a place to hang out in the evening. We stayed again for one night in one of the basic rooms, and it was a completely different experience. The room was a downgrade and we did encounter a couple of cockroaches in the room. Additionally, mornings were quite noisy due to construction work starting as early as 7 AM. Friendly staff and pretty views.
