How to Spend 3 Days in Vienna (Updated 2025)

"Stylish and modern, Hotel Brauhof Wien sits near Westbahnhof and is a short U-Bahn ride from historic Vienna; I found it especially appealing for beer lovers because there's a brewery on site, and it's conveniently located for visiting Schönbrunn Palace." - Matthew Kepnes

Reception staff were welcoming and efficient. The rooms were large with decent sized bathrooms, although my room didn't have a view of anything. Air conditioning was good. The in house brewery was a bit too good as it was difficult to resist trying all the excellent offerings. The restaurant was good. I thought that the breakfast was a bit expensive so we had breakfast at one of the many cafes nearby.

I have just rebooked a room in this hotel for my next stay in Vienna! What I really enjoyed about this hotel is that it’s not right in the busy centre but also not super far out. The tram and Westbahnhof U-Bahn station is only a 5min walk but you could also just walk down Mariahilfstr and end up in busy shopping area within 20-25 min (depending on your pace). The size of the room and especially bathroom is perfect, I stayed in a single room and expected something tiny like in all those city hotel chains so I was very pleasantly surprised that it offered so much space. Same applies to the entire hotel - I for one really appreciate my privacy and don’t like to run into other hotel guest at all times so I loved that in this hotel you could really avoid big crowds and enjoy quiet time. I personally did not try the hotel‘s breakfast as there’s a very cute brunch place just down the road called PIJAT (I highly recommend it, it’s not very pricey but definitely good quality). The Biergarten of the hotel offers food and it’s a nice ambience but maybe a little too pricey and touristy for my taste, still it’s nice and very convenient to have an option so close by. Overall, I really enjoyed my stay and the very old fashioned charm of the hotel. The staff is very welcoming and polite & the room was very clean and comfortable. Thank you and see you next time :)

Great rooms, lovely food in a very pleasant beer garden and friendly staff - what more can you ask for? The hotel is really well situated for all forms of travel, within easy walking distance of the underground and rail station and with tram stops right outside.

Very large and spacious rooms, fantastic and kind service. Make sure to visit the adjoined restaurant and brewery for amazing (but priced a bit above standard) local food.

The location is very central and convenient. The room was extremely spacious with beautiful decor. However, there was no kettle or coffee-making facilities, and no minibar or small fridge in the room. It was very dim near the mirror by the shelves/wardrobe area.

I stayed at Hotel Brauhof Wien and had a great experience. The room was surprisingly large for the price, very clean, and well-maintained. The staff were amazing—super friendly and helpful, which made the stay even better. The service was excellent, and everything felt well-organized. For the price, it’s definitely a great deal. If you’re looking for a comfortable stay in Vienna with good service, I’d definitely recommend it!

This hotel seriously hit me hard when I checked in. I arrived before the check-in time, so I left my luggage at their storage and returned later. At that point, I didn’t do anything at the front desk except confirm my reservation. The desk employee informed me that my room wasn’t ready yet. However, I overheard him also say that I had already checked in. (What? I wasn’t sure what he said because I was exhausted carrying the luggage to the hotel.) After that, Here’s the main issue: During the check-in process, another desk employee showed me the guest paper online that I had signed when I mentioned that I wanted to pay now and check the paper because it often had errors, especially my name. Wait! My fist name is TAE? My last name is HEE KIM? I signed it? When? I didn’t. But that employee insisted that I had signed it. Wow. Also, despite my name being incorrect, that employee dismissed it as a minor issue. So, I raised my voice and explained that I couldn’t pay the fee because my name was wrong and I hadn’t signed on that paper. Wow wow…. In the end, I corrected my name on the printed paper and signed it myself. However, it wasn’t clear that the online paper had been changed correctly. 1. Who signed on that online paper? (Anyone instead of me? That’s a kind of criminal. Very serious.) 2. The name of the person who booked the hotel doesn’t matter? What the fuck nonsense!

Hotel Brauhof was a great stay! We had a huge apartment on the top floor, and the price-to-quality ratio was amazing 👌. The only downside was the odd bathroom setup – the shower was tiny, and the bidet/toilet positions felt awkward, especially given the spacious bathroom. The windows could use a bit of maintenance too. But overall, we’d definitely recommend this hotel, especially this room! 🛏️
