We had a great stay here! It was the off-season but the rooms were clean. Only complaint is we only had conditioner, no shampoo or body wash. Pool towels were really small so bring your own! The early entry into the park is certainly worth it.

This was our second stay at Hotel Breakers. I read the reviews, but the location to the park won out. With that being said, I found a few things that could make others feel better about staying at Breakers besides the location. The pools, hot tubs and lake were lovely as well as the fire pits, but bring your towel from your room...seriously??? The best snack and really most affordable was at the Ice Cream Parlour, awesome ice cream and BIG portions. The refridge worked great, freezing ice and getting soda's really cold! We found the service and front desk to be wonderful and welcoming. Now the not so good things.....The toilet paper at the park was better than the toilet paper at the VERY expensive hotel (awful!!!!! and I live with a septic using only scott) and the sheets, yuk.....the cotton was all over my black pj's in the morning and they are not soft. We made due with iced coffee since there was no coffee maker. The last thing I want to do before I am dressed and ready to go is go down to Starbuck's and wait in line to pay a small fortune for a coffee (what a racket) It is those little things that make a difference, it is a very expensive hotel. The food is outragiously priced everywhere and not that great (fresh fruit was fantastic). We wont be back any time soon......

Rooms were nice could use an update. Service was excellent staff was helpful at a moments notice. Building and room were clean. Beach was pleasant with lots of room for guest to spread out. With well maintained sand. Pools were clean. Kitty pool had some things out of order. Building could use a "general store" its iconic Cedar point will be back

My family and I have stayed at the Breakers as a family tradition for over 50 years. Our group is now over 50 in number - all staying in rooms. The resort charges are very high with the quality of rooms not living up to those prices. Yet we return every year to enjoy the park and beach. Being able to access the park is convenient. The beach is the most beautiful beach on Lake Erie with a low grade so it is perfect for young kids. The boardwalk vibe and entertainment is a good improvement. The cons - Check-in is slow. There are no accessible doorways that we could find. We had guests who use walkers and scooters and they were at the mercy of kind people to open doors for them. Room bathrooms are small and dimly lit. Room cleanliness is average. Garbage on the beach was strewn near the cans and not picked up until 2 pm Sunday. Boats can anchor anywhere now and some move in very close. I find this dangerous as they can swing quite a bit with wind changes. In the past there were No Boat buoys which limited beach access to the areas beyond the main swimming beach.

This was our third trip to Cedar Point and our second time staying at The Breakers. As an older property it has charm, is nicely decorated and offers a lot of amenities on property. The beach and amusement park access are very nice, being able to bounce back and forth between them really can’t be overstated. The convenience in my opinion really is priceless. We were here for 4 days and I didn’t have to get in my car a single time during our visit. The room isn’t anything over the top, my family went with a conjoined room option that way our grown kids could have their own room which gave us plenty of space. The AC worked well and most importantly the room was clean, beds were comfortable, and for the most part quiet. The only thing missing was a coffee pot. Overall service was great, we tried out the Starbucks and TGIF. Since we had the dining plan we ate most of our meals in the park. If I had any “complaints” I would say it is due to the ticketing system for the park. 6 years ago when we stayed here the property used a receipt system, essentially one paper tickets for multiple days in the park. I wish they would move to a wrist band system that would cover park entry during your stay. There may be a way to integrate it all on the app but I just went with the paper ticket option so maybe that’s on me. Overall, the visit was great. It’s not inexpensive but it is a nice option if you’re looking for a spot for a family trip.

If your looking for the best possible place to stay while visiting Cedar Point, you can't get any better then the Hotel Breakers. Its located less than a 5 minute walk to the park entrance. The rooms are nice, the restaurants within the property are fine, and the hotel sits right on lake Erie which gives you beach access. Most importantly though, you get to park right near the entry gate too. Pair a stay here with the fast pass plus and you'll have an amazing experience at the park!

Google
Overall, my stay was satisfactory! Although I would've liked to see a little more amenities in the hotel room, such as extra bars of soap or hair and shampoo bottles, everything else makes up for that. Room was up to par and the location itself was very convenient as well as the ease of access to the Cedar Point Park and beach. The views are unparalleled (I had a view of the park; my sister's family had a front view of the beach and the pool area.) In terms of dining, there's no shortage of dining in the hotel itself. It's got you covered from breakfast to lunch and dinner even late night drinks! There are also cabanas with fire pits running in the evening. Also be prepared to put on your walking shoes because the hotel is so sprawling, you may have to make your way from the West Wing to the East Wing (where there's a snack shop that serves ice cream (and VERY GENEROUS servings at that, two scoops is more like 4 scoops, and 1 scoop=2 scoops!) Worth the price! They DO NOT skimp on their scoops! And that's a VERY good thing. Stay at Hotel Breakers for their perks, ease of access, location, and one stop shop for your dining experience.

We were very disappointed with our experience at The Breakers. During our visit to the resort pool, we witnessed several high school kids jump the fence and enter without any security intervention. People were openly smoking around the pool area, and at one point, my daughter even pulled an empty beer can out of the water. In the entire time we were there, only two staff members came by to check for wristbands, yet no one seemed to be wearing them, and no one who was asked to leave actually left. This lack of enforcement made the pool feel chaotic and unsafe, ultimately forcing my family to leave early. For a hotel that charges around $300 a night, this level of oversight and security is completely unacceptable. To be clear, I don’t blame the young employees we saw working; they seemed to be doing their best. The issue is a complete lack of management and/or ownership supervision. This was our third time staying here, and we will not be back. If you are considering this hotel and have young children—especially daughters—please be aware that the pool area did not feel secure, and there was no meaningful enforcement of safety or guest-only policies. We expected a much higher standard of cleanliness, safety, and accountability. Unfortunately, this experience fell far below expectations.

Yelp
Absolutely stay here if you're going to Cedar Point. The property has multiple Chain restaurants, a pool, beach access, bars and more for parents and kids alike. It also has direct access to the park's front entrance which makes for easy mornings or back n forths if needed. Hotel has a beach hotel vibe, functional and clean. Easy, great stay. Pro tip, if you need to make a stop at CVS or Target for anything do so before driving down the main road to the hotel which doesn't have much directly around it.

Yelp
I didn't actually stay here on my most recent visit to Cedar Point but did stop in a few of the restaurants inside, which you are allowed to do even if you're not staying in the hotel. I have stayed here in the past however and it's always been a decent experience although pretty expensive, but the convenience of being on the peninsula (especially if you can't drive like me) does make it worth it. Just a fair warning, they don't do daily housekeeping here like most hotels do, but the rooms have always been clean at least when we've checked in.

Yelp
Before any negatives, I just want to say it's all worth it for the access to the park and great views the lakeside rooms offer. To be able to come and go during your trip to cedar point is priceless. That said, it's time for a refresh on the room. Ours was very worn and only moderately clean. The carpet had stains and did not look vacuumed. Typical mildew caulk in the bathroom tub. No coffee maker wtf??? They also had to scrounge up towels, as they forgot. We had to ask for extra soap, since we were provided with one small bar for three days, and small shampoo/conditioner bottles. Everything is VERY basic in the actual rooms. Expect nearly motel 6 offerings. The resort amenities were great, but they needed a lot more cleanup and trash pickup overnights. That said... we'll be back. Hopefully by that time they upgrade the rooms.

Yelp
I loved this place! Perfect place to stay if you're going to cedar point and buy the rooms that come with the passes! An older hotel with beautiful grounds on the lake. Food was as expected for hotel food. Would recommend this place and come back again if I'm ever in Sandusky!

Yelp
The nicest of the park resorts, Hotels Breakers was a bit of a disappointment. Though they boast of local history, making "history" the hotels entire identity has left the hotel looking desperate for remodeling. The guest service member that checked us in said "if you hear scratching at night, it might be the mice or it might be the ghost.", and while that's hilarious, it's also pretty gross. At a side entrance near the parking lot, mayflies gathered making it an adventure to make it in and out of the door, our room smelled musty and of mildew and the dated bathrooms had brown stains to welcome us - the walls, the doors, and the bathtub alike. That being said, our room for the night at a popular amusement park was less than $300, the staff was friendly, and the views of the beach were great. There are tons of perks for staying at Hotel Breakers, including two exclusive entrances into the park.

Yelp
Cleanliness. I understand this hotel has history and is old but it can still be cleaned. I'm not sure if it's a staffing issue meaning not enough or it's needing a manager to manage its personnel. We enjoyed the park and the convenience of the hotel location but it's definitely not a Universal Studios hotel resort.

Yelp
The Good and The Bad - Breakers Hotel We arrived at 4pm for a 4pm check in time. The line was winding around the lobby and our room wasn't ready until 6pm. This is not a cheap roadside hotel. We paid $800+ for 2 nights not including park passes. Why aren't the rooms ready on time? We have less than 48 hours to enjoy the amenities and amusement park and I think they owe us for the 2 hours that we missed due to their inability to properly manage this hotel. A positive: free parking. Once we got to our room it was fine... nothing spectacular but adequate. The entire outdoor area could use some TLC. Light fixtures were dirty, patios needed a wash etc. The swimming pool was very buggy and needed skimming, which eventually happened, but not before the pool opened for the day. One of the elevators in our wing didn't work and there were often long lines for the elevators. The kids loved the early park entrance and convenient location to Cedar Point. Everything within the hotel was extremely overpriced, which is sort of to be expected but it seemed more than necessary. The location is perfect for Cedar Point goers and we did enjoy the beach and relaxing on the pool decks (once we wiped bird droppings off of the chairs). Lake Erie was surprisingly shallow and warm here and there were lots of people enjoying that area which was nice to see. I don't think I'd stay here again, unfortunately. I had high hopes, but the price per night was a bit of a splurge considering it was just one stop on a road trip. I don't mind paying for a great place with great service, but unfortunately, I don't think we got what we paid for.

Yelp
If you want the closest and easiest access to the Cedar Point and Cedar Shores parks, most definitely stay at Hotel Breakers. Just know that this comes at a premium rate, just like staying at The Grand Californian when visiting Disneyland. For 6 days and 5 nights in June 2025, it was a total of ~$8,200. This was for a 2 bed suite, and two adjoining rooms, each with 2 beds - 3 rooms in total. This also included 2 tickets for Cedar Point with early access and the drink pass (aka "Ride and Refresh Ticket Package). There were 7 in our group. THE GOOD: As stated, proximity. Access to a great stretch of beach. We found the beds to be very comfortable with plenty of pillows. Had some great sleep after long park days. The refrigerator worked well, kept my Yuengling Lager nice a cold which was also nice after those long park days. The staff kept us well stocked with towels. The patios in the back of the hotel that lead to the beach are really nice. We enjoyed getting cozy next to the large fire pits. The boardwalk is amazing to walk down at sunset. JUST OK: The bathrooms were sort of cramped, dingy. Definitely showing their age. The A/C worked fine. I would have liked my room just a bit cooler, but the unit struggled to keep it 70F. The patio from our suite was screened in, but screen and crevices were packed with dead bugs. I know we were in Ohio near a lake, but it was still gross. Much of the staff was new and from out of the country. There were plenty of instances of language barriers, poor communication, and lack of knowledge. I think this sort of work experience is fantastic, but I am also spending tons of money and shouldn't have to figure out how to meld my English with Spanish, Japanese, Tagalog, etc. THE BAD: There was no hand soap, shampoo, body wash, etc in the rooms. We had to drive into town to get some of these. There Whether the staff would decide to make the bed was a coin flip. The ambiance and aesthetic of the hotel is dated and not in a fun, nostalgic or sentimental way. Just sort of old looking, almost dreary. The fitness center is clearly an afterthought. Not cleaned or cared for at all. The floor was covered with dirt/sand. No free weights. No towels. No water. No music. There is a TV, but no remote (that I could find). No hand sanitizer or sanitizing wipes. Really disappointing, because, yes, I am one of those weird people that enjoys a good workout or two even on vacation. I would absolutely stay here again just for the proximity, but I have also absolutely spent this same amount of money on much better hotels and hotel experiences.

Yelp
So expensive here. It is hard to want to spend the money when there are other options that have better pools, like the places with waterparks. The pros are being close to CP so you can get early access and walk in from the hotel. The discount tickets when you stay on property. The restaurants. I love the Japanese steak house the most here. It is our favorite and will come here as often as we can. They are hilarious, give you tons of great tasting food, and are a great value for a theme park. The theming. I love the décor and furniture here. It is a great place to relax. The bars are great. They have a good gift shop. They have Starbucks coffee. The history, just look at the walls and it tells a story. The cons, the price is astronomical here. It is more worth staying at Castaway Bay instead and just drive. It is sometimes hard to make a reservation, since it is limited in the time it is open. So, it is hard to find a good non-rainy weekend to come because you need to plan so far in advance.

Yelp
Our family has been visiting Cedar Point amusement park over the last 25 years, and started staying at the Breakers to be on site ... and it has routinely been a good experience. The Breakers is one of two hotels on the property, and when you stay at either it is just a walk in the park to get to the amusement area or the water park. Very convenient. This visit for us marked our return to Cedar Point after about 10 years away ... so we were due for a review. The Breakers is their lux hotel for park guests. It is a bit pricey, but you get to stay right on the waterfront of Lake Erie, and directly next to the boardwalk that spans the entire hotel all the way down to the entrance to the amusement park. You are right there were all the action is, most of the restaurants are, and nearby the parasailing and jet skiing business. So if you stay here, you park your car and never have to use it ... you can walk to most things, and they have a shuttle available for those that want to use it. Since it had been 10 years since we were here, we did see some changes. They now have cabanas on the waterfront that they rent out for a half day ... your choice as to 10 am to 4 pm or the night shift to 11 pm ... a neat addition for families. The interior of the Breakers seems to have aged a bit ... maybe its because we were late in the season, but furnishings seemed a bit old and run down ... not greatly so, but just enough to show a need for some TLC. The staff was routinely very nice ... they still have the program of bringing in foreign students for the summer work, and they were all nice and accommodating. The hotel restaurants remain a huge convenience, whether its breakfast at Perkins or dinner at Tomo or Starbucks you are looking for. In sum, we will return again as this is a classic amusement park ... especially if you love roller coasters ... and we'll stay at the Breakers. For us, we are now coming with the next generation. Here's hoping management does a bit of updating and upkeep in the off season, to keep the Breakers shipshape.

Yelp
Very convenient- very short walk to the park. I was very disappointed in the room though. It smelled musty. Luckily I googled it ahead of time and knew there was no coffee pot so we brought ours. It wasn't very clean. There was a giant bug smashed with guts on the wall. The floor was dirty and someone left a piece of a fingernail on the desk. The room is VERY basic. Plain Jane. The shampoo and body washes were all different companies and very random. The room is Very plain, beds were not comfy and pillows were hard. I was expecting so much more for the cost. I pay the same amount for our Disney hotels we stay at and I guess I was expecting something similar. I would stay again...just for the convenience.
google avatar

Lars F.

Yelp
I had a really nice day. The rooms were really nice and refreshed. Bring your own coffee maker. Are you standing a long line for coffee? There is no coffee maker in the room. The decor is fresh and cagey. The boardwalk is really nice. It's an easy walk to the park from the hotel. Ps I would go back there again
google avatar

Constance M.

Yelp
We stayed here for five nights and had a three day pass to the Cedar Point Amusement Park. Pros: The views and proximity to the beach were great. It was also nice to be steps away to the park and could unwind at the beach & pools. They had huge fire pits at night and always a band playing at the sand bar. Cons: The internet didn't work very well. There were no coffee makers located in the rooms and there was not a daily room turn down service. I was told to request service and it still took them two days for an initial cleaning. They will not let door dash to your room. There were restaurants on site but we chose to drive into town for other options.

Jack H.

Yelp
Hotel room itself is ok... but definitely worthy of a $120 rate, not $500+. Now, you factor in a weekend night in the summer and there's hundreds of local teens coming in and out of the hotel, knocking down signs, making noises, using the pool "only for hotel guests", etc... this was actually a terrible stay. You'd think for $500+ a night they could help with some security to make it a decent stay for guests... guess not!

Yelp
We had a wonderful stay here and can't wait to go back again. The staff was so friendly and our beds were way too comfortable. I like that they have everything nearby so we didn't even have to move the car over the three days there. My only complaint would be the available (or not available) parking. We had to drive in circles for a while hoping for someone to leave. I didn't want to leave to the store fearing I'd find no spot and unfortunately the vending machines are awful expensive. $5.50 for a bottle of cherry coke. Yikes! I'll be better prepared next visit. My teenage daughter and I loved the beach and games they had available. ( corn hole, volleyball and connect four to name a few). The restaurants were delicious. Make sure to get a reservation if wanting the hibachi as we did a carry out since it was a few hours wait. We'll be going back again for sure

Yelp
save yourself the 400 bucks and go somewhere else. The first problem was thr manager called me the day of our reservation and said that they had to move our room from the pool accessible room to the second floor. they assured me it was the exact same kind of room just not pool side. I agreed thinking I was getting the exact same room, a handicap accessible room ( I am have had an amputation and it's not at easy for me to walk around. we I received my room it was NoT accessible. When I told the from desk they just said that all the accessible rooms had been reserved. they did not give me a discount and did not seem to care. my room itself was nasty. it smelled like CURRY. and the sleeper chair had a huge piece torn out of it. there was also no coffee makers in the room and the bathroom was extremely small. I felt as if I was staying at a Days Inn and not a hotel I spent 400 + a night on. i wish I wouldn't of saved up for this. It was a huge disappointment!

Yelp
I've stayed here many times since 2002 and this place was definitely a let down this time. It's used to be the place to stay. It used to be clean and refreshed looking every year. This year it was dirty and looked like nothing has been refreshed for a while. Room was dumpy and everything looked old. Dust was covered in ceiling fan in the bathroom. Room didn't feel cleaned. Bathtub had hair in it. The TGI Fridays was smelly and food was below average. Silverware was dirty. Bathrooms in TGI Fridays was nasty! I went to the front desk many times and only one girl had customer service skills. My kids had blast at the watermark and amusement park which seemed updated and clean. I wouldn't stay here again unless it gets updated. Hotel could use a new restaurant and some type of quick sandwich place. The kiddy pool looked dumpy and dirty. I get there will be sand in the pool from the beach but it just looks grimy. It needs a good scrub down. Main pools were dirty with hair and debris floating around.

Yelp
Just got into our rooms. Paid a small fortune for two adjoining rooms for 10 of us. Supplies were beyond inadequate so had to get towels, washcloths as well as soap and shampoo (only had enough for 6). Mold is everywhere along wall and floor corners (see pictures). So frustrated with the entire check in and get to the room and it's not even close to worth what I paid. Worst of all, while putting away supplies I'd just gotten from housekeeping, I found blood on the bathroom door. That is a serious health concern. When I spoke with front desk, they said both housekeeping and a supervisor must have missed it. This place is very, very sad.

Yelp
We had a good stay at Breakers while staying at Cedar Point. The access to the park is awesome. There was an entrance right next to Magnum and about 100 yards from our building. The rooms were spacious enough and were clean. The main building had everything that we needed. There are several restaurants on site, as well as pools, laundry, and an arcade.

Yelp
We spend a weekend at Hotel Breakers every September for the past 3 years and we love it! It's extremely convenient to stay at if you are visiting Cedar Point. I like that there are several sit down restaurants onsite to choose from or you can have pizza delivered. The beach is very clean with volleyball nets, music and fire pits. The rooms are spacious and light. The beds are comfortable too. We've always been able to achieve the perfect temperature in the room with the a/c. I like the little store off the lobby too. Perfect place to stop and get some ice cream for a after dinner treat! Check in can be time consuming but they have a tv with kids shows and little chairs for the kids to sit in while the adults wait in line. There is a Starbucks on site but it's always busy so be prepared to wait in line. Overall we really enjoy our time here every year.

Deborah S T.

Yelp
Don't know where to start except to say this place could use a definite 'facelift' and customer service is less to be desired throughout the years. They call it a 'resort' doesn't feel like one or looks like it either.

Beth G.

Yelp
Way past time to power wash the exterior and the red awnings. I know you sell out all season long, but that's no excuse to ignore the filth we have to look at while enjoying the pool.

Yelp
We stayed at Hotel Breakers on a long Holiday weekend for the 4th and had an absolute blast. Having said that there are lots of pros and cons of this hotel that you may want to be aware of prior to booking or arrival upon your stay. I'll start with the cons so we can end on a positive note. The rooms are very basic for the price. No coffee machines, comforters on the beds, and they are tiny! They do not clean the rooms throughout your stay. If you would like your trash taken out or additional towels, you have to call to request it and the front desk staff sort of gave me a bit of an attitude when I remarked that I found it unusual. We ended up just putting out trash out and requesting new liners daily and doing the same with the towels. The other thing that was weird was they have staff monitoring the indoor pool every hour or so to make sure they have wristbands on, that we weren't given during check in. We were temporarily kicked out, and not in a friendly way, until we got our wristbands on, despite being the only ones in the pool at that time. It was just super odd to me that they have enough staff to monitor wristbands, but not enough staff to clean the rooms. We also found a corn kernel on the floor of our room that our toddler could have choked on if I had not found it first. Having said that, the pros do make up for these issues and we will be bringing a small vacuum, cleaning wipes, more towels, and a coffee machine when we stay next time. The pros. The hotel is right on the beach which is absolutely stunning. They have multiple pools and restaurants and there honestly is no reason to leave the hotel the entire trip. The kids pool was perfect for our toddler, and they even have a semi heated indoor pool which came in handy on the one rainy day we were there. The proximity to the park is amazing, although our son is too young so we didn't go, but the view from the beach gives it a very Coney Island feel. The outside of the hotel itself is beautiful and it has an amazing history to it. They have a band playing on the beach as well as a Tofts ice cream parlor and arcade. It's definitely the type of place you pay for the experience and convenience and we will definitely be back!

Allison H.

Yelp
The customer service was terrible. We had no sheets for up to two hours and had to wait one to even check in to the room at 5:00 PM. With the sheets we walked down to the desk waited for 30 minutes to ask then went up to our room at 10:30 at night with children to wait another hour for no response! RIDICULOUS.They had no rooms ready at 5:00 PM on a Sunday. Prices had me in a choke hold at 7.00$ for a small pink drink at starbucks! Do not plan on taking much because the only carts for luggage is the valet ones! They don't give you a choice they take you luggage. Which means you count your on pocket money to tip them.

Yelp
My girlfriend and I are season pass holders for Cedar Point and decided to splurge on a hotel. We chose Hotel Breakers for the numerous amenities and closeness to the park. Unfortunately this was our first and likely last time staying at this hotel. We booked a room with a king bed and were surprised by how tiny the room was. After we checked in, we went to the gift shop to pick up our fast lane wristbands. The girls at the counter were very sweet, but the girl who put my wristband on seemed nervous to even touch me (it seemed like her first time applying it?) and she put it on so loose that I could slip my hand out. She was very apologetic and told me that I could adjust it on my own. This was not possible to do without ripping the wristband. When we got to the park we had to go to a different gift shop so I could get the wristband replaced. This took about 30 minutes out of our time in the park. I would've been happy to put the wristband on myself if given the option. When we returned from the park on Friday there were flies in our room yet no way to open the window. We put the do not disturb sign on our door yet housekeeping knocked on our door TWICE during the early morning hours and woke us up. Whats the point of the sign if it's going to be completely ignored? Every single garbage can on the beach was overflowing with trash when we went Saturday morning. We decided to check out the pools only to find all three of them, including the indoor pool, filled with dead bugs. I mean entire surface of the water was a sheet of dead flies. I understand that being on the lake means flies but why not skim the pool before opening it up to guests? I've never seen anything like it. We paid over $300 for the night even with our season pass discount. At that price, we could've gone to Kalahari and gotten a better room as well as access to pools that aren't completely filled with bugs. I am in the process of requesting at least a partial refund. The icing on the cake of our disgusting trip? A dirty diaper next to my car. NEVER AGAIN.

Yelp
You will spend most of your first night here waiting for your room. It is uncalled for that a paying customer has to wait till almost last dinner time until a room is ready. The lines wrap around the hotel. We get here early, but we still wait hours for a room. The only reason for such chaos is POOR MANAGEMENT. PERIOD. There is no excuse to have such chaos at your check-in. There is no reason paying customers can't access a room they paid for earlier. They must start cleaning staff shifts at 3:30 here and then start cleaning rooms at 4:00 when the lines are wrapped around the door. I really don't understand how else could be so poorly run. Why aren't rooms cleaned as soon as people are checking out in the morning? What is going on here? Advise to management; learn processes. Develop operating procedures. Figure out why are your rooms not being turned over right away when people check out? Go to seminars in figuring out hotel management. Invest in a manager who can develop good standard operating procedure. Good God Almighty what a poorly mismanaged place.

Yelp
This hotel is extremely convenient when visiting Cedar Point. Two entrances are within walking distance to the park, making it super easy. The room was nice, had friendly staff and no issues. Breakers also has a few restaurants inside, which really helps after a long day of rides (and terrible food). They also have a great ice cream shop and The Sand Bar where you can get a nice drink and some light food. We've been here a few times and will continue to come back. Give it a try!

Yelp
Beautiful suite, early check in and excellent, friendly, customer service. Room is very clean and comfortable.

Yelp
We loved our experience. That was our first time going and I can't believe we've never been before that. The convenience of getting into the park right off the boardwalk was much better than parking in the lot for the park. Boardwalk nights was really fun for the whole family. I'm already looking to book another stay!

Yelp
The people working here are cool. I didn't have any cleanliness issues. But the rooms and everything look old and janky AF. This hotel is like someone else said - a cut down motel 6 room in what looks like it wants to be the grand Floridian. There is no in room coffee. There is no free water. Even the Starbucks charges. There is no desk. So if you want to work and then go to the park forget it. Cell phone reception for Verizon is nonexistent. T Mobile is slightly better but still not great. ONLY 1 CHAIR SO YOU CANT EVEN EAT WITH SOMEONE ELSE IN YOUR ROOM. For the price they are charging you'd get a desk, 2 chairs, and in room coffee from even stingy a&$ Disney with the ability to get free water in the lobby. There is really no excuse for how stingy they are here. The walls are nearly empty like hospital walls. Feels like a bad airbnb. All you get is a bed, drawers, microwave, mini fridge, and...that's it. It's slightly bigger than a cruise ship room. Tiny! The beach for Lake Erie out back has brown water and the performers they have really suck. The band was off key so badly it was a joke. We really wanted him to shut up. The fire performer looked like a dude who just learned how to spin fire in his first day in class. None of it was synced up to anything either. He was laughably terrible. And the music was some big top 3 ring circus guy screaming on a bullhorn to music they recorded for the park. Pretty much the worst most obnoxious music I've ever heard at a resort. And they kept playing it at night when nobody wants a man screaming It was not a relaxing atmosphere on the beach, let me tell you. I would never want to stay here for more than just going to the park and leaving. I agree with the reviews below that say it needs an update and a grab and go sandwich / salad shop. All you have is a hillbilly perkins a Starbucks that charges $4 more per item than usual and some other awful food options. I'm not bringing my own coffee maker etc - I flew in from the west coast. The location for the park is 5 stars and that's the only reason anyone would stay here. I'm glad I didn't once but I never will stay here again.

Yelp
Excellent classic hotel. Best location with east early access to the park. You can walk right out the back on to the beach and walk on the boardwalk

Yelp
I think that if you want to be close to Cedar Point this is the best place to stay, even though it is over priced. But, you cannot beat the convenience of walking on the board walk of the beach to gate right into Cedar Point. My family had tons of fun because it was the last weekend of the 150 anniversary. The hotel provided lots of entertainment,. The bar area had a live band. My 3 adult kids got into a Hula hoop contest which my son won of course. The beach had a party at night time and other activities. Me and my daughter ate at Tomo a Japanese style type restaurant. Hotel Breakers has 6 restaurants, a giftshop, Indoor and outdoor pools with hot tubes. The fact that it is right on the beach made it extra special. I thought the rooms were just okay, it felt a bit small. I could see some of the rides right from my window. Some of the rooms have beach views and they cost a little more. The covers are very then and kind of hard.

Yelp
Ok it's expensive but the hotel can give you a Caribbean experience plus Disney Park environment for nickels compared to the actual. We had an amazing room amazing experience and are counting down the days to do this a 4th time.

Yelp
I am currently staying here for a trip to Cedar Point. You pay for convenience to the park, which is worth it to me. It's pricey but the early entry into the park that get for staying here and two gates you have access to into the park is worth it if you want to prioritize cedar point and all it has to offer. The king lake view room has a great view of the lake. It's small but has all we need. There are multiple pools and restaurants here. Check in was easy and the staff was accommodating. The beach is very nice with activities like bocce ball, corn hole, connect four. And there's been a band playing every night so far. I would recommend this if you want the best cedar point experience.

Yelp
This was our 1st stay in June and I don't have any complaints! Definitely convenient location to the parks. Parking was adequate at the hotel. The price was a little more pricey but everything you need is right there. The hotel is on the beach. Fridays restaurant on the property as well as Perkins, hibachi restaurant and Starbucks. This place is definitely family friendly. The room was clean, there was a microwave and mini fridge in the room which was convenient. Indoor and outdoor pools were nice! Outdoor bars were reasonable priced. I definitely would go back and recommend staying there!

Yelp
If you come here with lowered expectations and accepting the fact that you are paying for the location, you won't be as disappointed as I initially was. Early entry is a perk. Being able to enter at the beach entrance or side entrance is a perk. Being able to take a nap in the afternoon while my teens tore up the rides across the street was a perk. Not having to move my car once the entire week was a perk. Your room won't be cleaned daily and you'll have to ask for towels, even with the big price tag. The indoor pool was closed most of our visit and the one day it was open the hot tub was closed. Wifi is spotty at best. I'm not sure if I'll be back because there are nicer options for half the cost, it just stinks to have to drive and park at the park.

Yelp
Ugh. Could be way better. Very slow & stupid front desk. Unable to provide simple information or understand basic requests. Place is old and smells old, NO COFFEE MAKER IN ROOM- 1 star penalty there. Perkins restaurant in lobby HORRIBLE. Elevators often OUT of SERVICE. The only good thing here is LOCATION of course. All upper management running this place should be FIRED.

Yelp
You are paying for location with this hotel. It's right on Lake Erie and the beach, you're a five minute walk from the Cedar Point entrance, and if you stay at the hotel, you're granted a one-hour early entrance into the park. (So, you get to enter at 9 a.m. instead of 10 a.m. like the plebeians who stayed elsewhere.) But the downsides are that it's hella expensive for such a small room, the bathrooms are small, and our room smelled constantly of dirty feet. You know that smell that's at indoor playgrounds where kids are required to take off their shoes? That smell. It got even more pungent at night when I was lying in bed, which meant maybe it was coming from the bed? And speaking of the bed, it was not comfortable at all. Even my kids, who love to stay at hotels and usually sleep OK in hotel beds, complained about the bed and that they didn't sleep well. I'll end this review on a good note, though, because overall, we had a relatively pleasant stay. We got a room with a balcony, which was nice because it overlooked the beach. And the outdoor hotel pool has a huge splash pad area and water slides, which is really fun. Overall, you don't come to this hotel to spend a lot of time in it: You're here because you need a place to lay your head after a full day at Cedar Point. And Hotel Breakers did its job, in that respect.

Yelp
I LOVE THIS PLACE!!!! This hotel is extremely modern and nice, and being AT Cedar Point is awesome! You walk into the amazing lobby and see all the awesome decorations! When you get your room, it could be a long walk. This hotel is absolutely massive! When you get to your room, you get to see this awesome, modern room with amazing views of the beach, or Cedar Point, depending on what side you are on. I have stayed here 2 times, and the first one, I got a view of the beach in room 4242. The 2nd time, I stayed in room 210 and got a view of the Boardwalk section of Cedar Point! I have loved this hotel both times I have stayed, and it is awesome!

Yelp
Large suite with nice view. Great location. However there are no comforters on the beds, there are non available in the whole hotel so could not sleep with just a sheet and a thin woven blanket. The central air was loud and kept turning on and off so I couldn't sleep due to that either. Their Hibachi place in the hotel called Tomo look like it could be nice but it was so loud and the chefs were encouraging fraternity style drinking games and it was intolerable for us to eat there with kids. The TGI Fridays was huge but food was pitiful and smaller portions than regular Fridays and they upcharged for everything.

Yelp
Stayed here for a week. The resort is a little dated when it comes to rooms. The bathroom was WAY to small for anyone. Makes getting ready hard. Another thing I noticed is that the hallways didn't have any security cameras, maybe I over looked them but seems that a resort this big should offer a little better security for its guests. One annoyance was that they cleaned the hallway carpets nightly around 9pm. Seems this could be done earlier in the day. The cost of items on the resort seemed way to inflated as well from the restaurants to the ice cream parlors. The ease of getting into and out of Cedar point was superb. Most of the staff was friendly and helpful. There were fun beach activities for the kids and the game of dodge a bird was fun. The birds like to attack your head it seemed or atleast my bald head. Every time I passed by he would attack. Lol Overall not bad place but not a 4 or 5 star hotel either.

Yelp
Lobby bathroom was a mess toilet paper everywhere when we arrived. Air conditioner in room did not work . Went down to have coffee one morning left my 2 teenagers in the room with do not disturb on the door. Housekeeping man came in anyhow while we were gone. Barely any apology from the supervisor. offered tickets for their amusement park the same day .

Yelp
My sister and brother in-law are big Cedar Point buffs and they come every year for Halloween. Now, they truly do it up. They come in from Chicago so it's not a super short drive, so they attack each visit with a game plan and stay two nights on the property to maximize their time there. It's very impressive and we learned a lot from them in just a short time. This year, a weekend before Halloween fell on my husband's birthday so they invited us to join us and kindly got us a room at the Hotel Breakers along with them so we can spend more time together. I had never stayed overnight at Cedar Point, we're only a couple hours away so it's easy to do a day trip, but I now can see the appeal and plan to stay over every visit from now on. And here's why: First off, the hotel is great. The rooms are comfortable, spacious, and clean. It's right on the beach so in the summertime you can take advantage of Lake Erie as well as a ton of outdoor and indoor pools, and it's walking distance to the water parks of Cedar Point. In cooler temps there's also really lovely fire pits to enjoy the water front while staying warm. Also, they have dining options on site that aren't quite as packed as the park, there's a Starbucks in the lobby, ample parking, and they have an entrance to the park right by the hotel which makes going in and out to get a bite, or refresh at your room pretty easy. But beware--this hotel is HUGE. Which makes getting a room here pretty easy, but it makes getting from point A to point B fairly confusing and/or tedious. Also since it's so huge, staffing feels rushed and tight. We didn't have a BAD experience with anyone, but no interactions felt particular pleasant or warm. But, with that said, I'll certainly be happy to stay here in the future. Hopefully in the summer when we can also take advantage of the beach and pool!

Yelp
The main reason to stay here is convenience. If you're staying here, you're definitely going to Cedar Point and if you're going to Cedar Point, you're staying about 100 yards from the back gate of the park. This place comes with a high price tag, but it's a nice way to walk to and from the park during your park days and they have some nice pool areas and a beautiful outdoor patio overlooking the lake. We didn't have time to enjoy the patio much and our pool time was limited too, because we were there almost solely for the park. The indoor park and hot tub were a late night bonus, and the kids got to check out the The kids were fascinated with our hotel room window view of roller coasters and I was pleased with the morning Starbucks option. The in-house convenience store also came in handy when we realized we forgot milk flour our morning cereal (no free breakfast here, so we brought our own). I can't imagine a circumstance where we'd be able to enjoy the outdoor pool and splash pad and patio and beach bar and beach itself, because every time I'd stay here, it would be to get as much time in the park as possible. But I imagine staying here will be a special occasion only due to the price tag. Staying at Breakers DOES get you into the park an hour early like season pass holders. When all was said and done, we had a very positive experience. Shout out to the front desk staff, as I had several questions throughout my stay and they were all very courteous and helpful to my family and I.

Yelp
You're paying for convenience and location and that's it. $500/night was not worth it. The building is old, rooms are dated and run down. No room service. We ordered Perkins to go and pick up and waited over an hour for scrambled eggs and pancakes and their consolation was a free cookie that was clearly the cookie they were going to throw out at the end of the day. Sunday, the only open restaurant nearby for lunch is also Perkins. It's also very difficult to get answers for any questions when you call. I kept getting transferred around only to have the person at the desk tell me she didn't know and to call back the next morning when someone else was there. The only thing nice is that it's on the beach and you can very easily get to the parks. The room was clean but run down.

Luann M.

Yelp
Don't do it. It's not worth it. Really very poorly ran. If check in time is 4, you should be fully staffed to handle everyone checking in between 3-5. Hotel is not well kept either. Quite disappointing.

Gemma J.

Yelp
Excellent hotel/resort with professional and personable staff. Everything is within easy walking distance , good restaurants, pools, hot tubs, fire pits, the boardwalk, beach, Cedar Point roller coaster park, etc. Went for a long birthday weekend. Can't wait until my next birthday!

Yelp
A Day At Hotel Breakers - Cedar Point - June 18, 2022 9 AM Arrival at Breakers started well with available parking. Checked in but rooms not to be available & assigned until later in the day. Received room keys and told to watch for texts when room was ready. Desk clerk could not tell us which building we would be in. Entered the park for a day of amusement. Received text about 3 PM that rooms were ready 4231 & 4233. Text did not indicate what building rooms were in. Entered 1st building and inside entry sign & room range indicated it was not ours. Went to the next buildings. No sign in entry indicating the room range. Asked a staff member who said we were in the correct building. No carts available for luggage and we had a heavy cooler. Went to rooms and the keys did not work. Spoke to a "Supervisor" in the hall who said he could not help us. Went to lobby and got new keys. Rooms ok but not worth $400 a night for partial park and air conditioner view. Stains in shower curtains, cracks on ac unit, no coffee maker. Toilet paper holder is hidden under vanity out of sight. This is hardly a Resort. The lake location is the only thing that saves it. Group was hungry for a snack so order cheese pizza from Domino. It was good and arrived in 18 minutes at our rooms. Had to drive to the registration building to hire a bellhop to bring our cooler up. The guy wrote our room number down and I tipped him in advance. It took 45 minutes to get our cooler as the bellhop wrote down the wrong room #. Time to swim. Went down elevator but no directional sign to pools near elevators. Found the indoor pool. It was cloudy and dirty with debris and sand. Hot tub was cool. At about 5 PM a female staff member showed up with a "frowny face" and tested pool chemicals and turned up tub temp. She slammed the door by the tub twice which indicated her disapproval with having to do her job. Someone must have complained. No pool attendant present to check wrist bands. Saw several people walk in with duffel bags and change into swim suits in the rest room. Don't believe they were hotel guests. Called TGI Friday's to order 6 dinners to go. No one answered the phone. I went down to the restaurant and ordered dinners from Ashley at the bar. She was great. There was no waiting line to get into the restaurant. Woke up Sunday. Regrettably no coffee in the room. Had breakfast at Perkins at 8 AM. It was good and Sophia was a great server. The manager even stopped by our table to be sure all was good. Message to Management: Name the buildings and improve your signage. Place luggage carts in all buildings for people who do not want Bellhop service. Take care of the details and the rest will take care of itself. Regards, Robert Pattison Cincinnati, Ohio

Yelp
This was our first and last time visiting Cedar Point and the surrounding area, we drove almost five hours from Southern Ohio and entrusted Hotel Breakers with facilitating our stay. Unfortunately, after just the first night, we collectively decided to end our trip two days early. Hotel Breakers is honestly not worth what you're expected to pay, the suite was incredibly dingy and small, the air conditioner on one side didn't even work. The beds are unbearably uncomfortable, the rooms appear to be setup as though they're opposed to cohesion, comfort and style. I'd honestly go so far as to denote Hotel Breakers as being one of the most egregious resorts I've stayed at, their rates absolutely do not match the quality that consumers are subjected to. Furthermore, it's 2024 and their payment portal doesn't even facilitate methods of payment such as Affirm or Klarna, consumers can still opt to use a virtual card through one of these platforms, but will be met with scrutiny when they check-in, despite what their online customer service representatives would have you believe. Spend your hard earned money elsewhere folks, your experience here will be subpar at best. Additionally, after posting the aforementioned review on their Google reviews page, James, the Operations Supervisor at Hotel Breakers called us at 10:26 PM, which was VERY unprofessional. As a follow-up, we were also sent a very half-baked and poorly written e-mail.
