Read this before booking||||My wife and I stayed at Hotel Breitenburg to celebrate our anniversary. What was supposed to be a peaceful and elegant escape turned into a frustrating experience full of poor communication and, eventually, a very arrogant response from management.||||Booking issues and ignored messages||The hotel promoted a “3 nights for the price of 2” offer, but their website didn’t work. I contacted them via Instagram and was ignored several times. After repeatedly following up, I was told to wait for an email – which never came. In the end, I had to call and book myself, and I was charged for all 3 nights.||||Later, I was offered a voucher equal to the cost of one night – but was specifically told that it could only be used on hotel services like food, drinks, or treatments – not for the stay itself.||||So we used it in the restaurant (which was incredibly overpriced and disappointing – more on that below). But at checkout, a staff member told me we could have used the voucher toward the stay after all – and admitted that there’s often miscommunication between staff. That felt like a slap in the face.||||Terrible food and no transparency||The restaurant was cold, bland, and a total letdown. The “live cooking” station was missing a chef multiple times. As a Muslim, I also found it impossible to tell what food contained pork – everything was labeled only in German with no allergy or dietary icons. We left the restaurant with stomach pain and didn’t even bother with dessert.||||Management’s response? Accusing me of blackmail.||I sent a polite and detailed complaint. The messages from the Management team, was clearly ChatGPT (Robot) responses. When I pushed back and asked for an actual refund, the reply I got was:||“We will not allow ourselves to be blackmailed by you.” - Jonah Lawrenz (Management)||No discussion. No decency. Just that.||||⸻||||Final thoughts:||A hotel with a nice facade, but serious issues behind the scenes. If you expect honesty, respect, and service – go somewhere else.
