Hotel Bristol Salzburg

I cannot praise and recommend this hotel highly enough. It is a beautiful traditional hotel in a great location. It has been extremely well maintained. Our room was spacious and comfortable. The buffet breakfast is fabulous and having dinner in the Polo Restaurant is just something you must try. The service throughout was excellent from the receptionists to the porters, housekeepers, waiters/waitresses and bar staff. A must location for your stay in Salzburg.

We stayed here for 3 nights and loved our accommodations. I highly recommend a floor on the 4th floor overlooking the small park (front of the property). You’ll get great views of the mountains and can see Mozart’s childhood home (across the street). The rooms have A/C, which was wonderful to experience, as many European hotels do not offer this taken for granted commodity. I stayed with a group of 8 friends. We all loved the central location. Easy to walk and navigate the main tourist spots. ||We upgraded our room, which made for a more pleasant experience. You can have one (non-alcoholic) beverage from the mini-bar free of charge. ||The daily breakfast was hosted in a well decorated dining space (buffet style) and they offered plenty of Bavarian favorites and Western go-to items as well.

Great location and views from the rooms. Our upgraded room had high ceilings, pastel furnishings and a marble bathroom with a soaking tub and shower. The welcoming staff in the lobby and restaurant welcomed us with smiles and great service. Ulrich the bar manager and mixologist provided the best service and cocktails with lively and witty banter. My group enjoyed the whole experience at the well-run hotel just across the bridge from the very center of old Salzburg.

A lovely hotel, with fabulous service but just a little tired. This was my second stay and I had a lovely room on the 4th floor with a balcony. The staff were helpful and friendly, the breakfast excellent and the hotel is very convenient to the station and to the Altstadt and Mirabell Gardens. I would definitely stay here again, the only drawback is that it is just a little sad and needs a bit of TLC. Thank you to all for my lovely stay and I hope to see you again

This is an exceptional hotel, with a few exceptions! The staff was EXCELLENT, from the doorman to the front desk (especially the woman who gave us such wonderful and detailed suggestions, thank you!!!) to the bartenders who seemed to come from central casting if the perfectly adroit, skilled and wry-humored person was called for. I understand that the hotel is quite old, however the furniture is very scratched and the rug was rumpled. There was no conditioner, which made it hell on my hair for this carryon-only traveler. Also, housekeeping did not replace our used wine and water glasses, which I found very odd. AND, the first morning they were at our door at 9am, exclaiming "Oh! You slept in!" when I answered the door. We put DND signs out after that, but my goodness we're on vacation, give us a minute! I would still recommend this beauty to anyone staying in Salzburg.

What an amazing place to stay while in Salzburg. Such lovely staff coupled with such beautiful ambience. Our family were so well looked after. The food is so delicuous, breakfast, dinner and lunch! The rooms are absolutely stunning . It’s the perfect place to stay while visiting Salzburg. I highly recommend this beautiful place.

We stayed as family and I have say that this place does not deserve 5 stars. More like 3. |Some reception staff can't be bothered to smile or say good morning. Management didn't care and we never heard back from them because we had several issues during our stay. |Absolutely not worth so much money.

Not what we expected at all,|Plastic flowers throughout hotel, I’d rather not have any at all ! |Our room was very tired, although I did request a separate walk in shower and they gladly obliged upon check in and that was a nice modern bathroom.|I don’t know why these old hotels never seem to do any modernisations to the rooms, they certainly charge enough.|The bed was comfortable but the room itself quite basic and this was a suite.|Breakfast was basic, only serve yourself available, no option to order from a menu.|I wouldn’t stay here again it felt old and fusty and in dire need of an upgrade.

Beautiful hotel with very kind service! Also connected to a nice restaurant and walking distance from plenty. Gorgeous balcony views!

This review is for the Polo Lounge restaurant for lunch. It was a splurge for us and so worth it. The service was wonderful. A place for an unhurried lunch. The Bristol salad was gorgeous and delicious. We weren't staying at the hotel but we were very glad that we came for lunch.

Excellent hotel. Nice friending staff and comfortable rooms. Very well maintained and the location is great. Front desk staff is very helpful.

This place is 100% the place to stay. We used CV points so it was free...low expectations. We were greeted by very very friendly staff who went over things to do in the city and lots of info. AMAZING buffet breakfast...included! Free drinks in room and snacks. Housekeeping services offered twice a day... So kind. Great place to stay, we would stay again if we come back to Austria anytime soon.

Wow. Really Beautiful in an older antique way. The rooms are very large and include a adjoining sitting room. Each room has a TV. The bathroom has a tub and movable shower head. All the toiletries are provided. The room comes with 2 robes and house slippers. Our room had 2 balcony windows that open with a view on to the center street and next to the church. The bells ring daily at 7am so there is no need for a wake up call. Our breakfast was included and this was large and diverse. All different fresh breads. Eggs prepared any style, bacon, sausage, hash browns. There was a large selection of cheeses and fresh lox. There was yogurt and fresh fruit as cut vegetables as well. Lots of different juices, coffee and real Cream. Yummy!

Family visiting from Hawaii, California, and Arizona, USA. Went in for a brief moment while site seeing and seeing what we would like to eat since we had just finished the Sound of Music tour. Was welcomed in to use the rest room, but then the receptionist yelled at me only a few minutes later like I appeared out of nowhere. She said I must announce myself. I informed her I thought she would have remembered as I was just there and apologized...but for what was obviously her over site. When my family was done in the lobby it became clear that she had summoned the "butler" to make sure we kept moving. Very uncourteous and rude treatment from staff, would not recommend.

I can't say enough great things about our stay at Hotel Bristol. The staff was very attentive and helpful. Our rooms were amazing and the breakfast was so good!! Thank you for making our visit to beautiful Salzburg even more memorable.

I was visiting Europe for the first time, was in great need of a restroom, stopped at this Hotel on August 12th around 4pm, the woman at the front desk refused to allow me to use the restroom,Must be my skin color was not as white as hers, I will never stay at this hotel even if I visited Salzburg again. What do you think? The tour guide later informed me that the staff is not allowed to refuse anyone use of the restrooms.I think the Manager needs to look into the poor service of this employee, I even snapped a photo of this rude woman,will use it on Facebook. I am in the service business, and if any of my employees ever treat any person this way will be terminated immediately!

We stayed at Hotel Bristol in November of 2016. We had a lovely room on the top floor overlooking the plaza with distant views of the mountains. Both the room and the bathroom were quite spacious. Bed was very comfortable (and we were very tired!) and we found the room to be perfect for our needs. The front desk personnel were extremely friendly and helpful. Breakfast room was beautiful, complete with crystal chandeliers. More importantly, breakfast buffet was excellent with a great selection of food plus the ability to special order egg dishes. We had dinner in the dining room one evening. Food was excellent and maitre d' made good recommendations for wine and entrees. We'd go back in a heartbeat!

Awesome hotel. From the location, to the rooms, to the staff.. all fantastic. We will be back! I would highly recommend to anyone.
