Great location perfect for exploring the town . For a 5 star the hiker is a bit tired. Very basic hotel rooms our door didn’t shut correctly so let all the corridor light in the room at night . I would say clean but tired . Great reception staff very friendly and welcoming. Nice bar good selection of drinks etc .|Good breakfast buffet very good choice.

Visited with my family and initially found our room to be quite small, but everything changed the moment I walked past "The View" Suite (“The King Suite” as one of the staff retorted). It looked incredible, so I asked the concierge about upgrading and I’m so glad I did. Not only were they extremely helpful in arranging the upgrade, but I even ended up extending my stay by an extra night. The suite itself was absolutely stunning. One balcony overlooks Mozart’s house, and the other opens up to the breathtaking Mirabell Gardens where The Sound of Music was filmed. Waking up to those views felt surreal. The room was spacious, beautifully maintained, and truly one of the best we’ve ever stayed in across Europe, though I will say the price is definitely on the steeper side. The staff were warm, attentive, and professional throughout our stay. They even directed us to nearby parking and provided a discount ticket, which was a thoughtful touch. If you’re visiting Salzburg and want a memorable, luxurious stay, "The View" Suite at Hotel Bristol is absolutely worth it. Highly recommended!

Service is impeccable. Breakfast was included in our room rates, food was good though not many option but sufficient, also you can ask for omelette which was absolutely delicious. We stayed two nights including Christmas Eve. We had reservation at the hotel restaurant. It started with champagne and a celebration with Christmas stories and 3 person band playing Christmas songs. Candles on Christmas tree was lit in traditional Austrian way when silent night was performed. It took about 25 minutes. Each guest received a nice present of sweets. Dinner started 7:45, and lasted 3 hours. Four course meal with dessert. Food was absolutely delicious (maybe not the main course - veal, which was tender but lack of flavor. €690 for three of us. Enjoyed the meal, my only wish was it did not last three hours. Overall we liked this hotel very much and enjoyed the stay. By the way, it costs €80 for extra small bed. 2025/12/24, 25.

The entire front desk staff was consistently helpful, offering excellent sightseeing guidance and thoughtful recommendations, complemented by well-curated in-room brochures that made exploring the city effortless. The hotel’s historic atmosphere is beautifully preserved, creating a refined and authentic Salzburg experience without feeling outdated. Our room offered a wonderful view of the fortress, which added a special sense of place and made mornings and evenings equally memorable. Breakfast was simply outstanding and deserves special mention. The selection was generous and high quality, including five kinds of freshly squeezed juices, an excellent assortment of cheeses, pastrami, and fish, five varieties of fresh fruit, avocado, and many other carefully prepared options. It felt more like a gourmet experience than a standard hotel breakfast. We also appreciated the thoughtful details throughout our stay: soft drinks and snacks in the minibar were refreshed daily, and evening turndown service added an extra touch of comfort and care. The room itself was very well designed for our needs — we stayed in a Double Superior room as a couple with a young teenager and found the accommodation spacious and comfortable. The two sinks and the separate bathtub and shower made mornings easy and stress-free, which is not always the case when traveling as a family. Practical comfort was clearly a priority as well, with both air conditioning and heating available, ensuring a pleasant temperature at all times. Finally, the location is unbeatable — perfectly situated for sightseeing, cultural experiences, shopping, and dining, all within easy walking distance. It’s an ideal base for discovering Salzburg while returning each day to a calm, elegant retreat. Hotel Bristol combines history, service, comfort, and location at the highest level. We would happily return and recommend it without hesitation.

Wonderful hotel with old fashioned grandeur and charm. Staff were welcoming friendly and attentive at all times, and we were made to feel most welcome. |Our room was beautiful, with great views over the city (request an upper floor room)|We had a lovely dinner one evening in the restaurant. Breakfasts were excellent. |The hotel is not located in the old town centre, which almost prevented us from booking. However it's setting is in a delightful square, and within a minutes walk of a charming pedestrianised (lover's) bridge over the river which leads to the start of beautiful Griegasse Street (pictured) and the Old Town|We loved this hotel, and for the price paid, what we got - great value also!

Simply elegant hotel in view of the Mirabelle Palace that was perfect in every way. Large rooms with floor to ceiling windows, outstanding service, king size beds, large modern bathrooms, refrigerator with free water and juices, great closet space etc. It is about 15 min walk from the railroad station just over the river from Aldstat. I can’t speak more highly of a hotel and recommend it strongly.

Excellent stay. Lovely traditional hotel with very friendly and accommodating staff. Stayed firstly in 'The Bell' room at the end of the hotel, overlooking the square (where Mozart lived) and the church. Wondered why the room was so-called and found out with the built-in alarm clock from the bels in the church at 7a.m. The only slightly negative comment would be the cost of having our car parked overnight, although the concierge service was impeccable - as soon as we needed the car, it was brought.

So quiet.|Hot running water in a wondrous bathroom !|Excellent bar snacks, evening meal in the restaurant very good, breakfast in a crystal room with chandeliers was buffet style with a fantastic choice.|Perfect location ; everywhere to see in Salzburg is just a few minutes walk away.|I would like to give 6 stars.|We will be back.

This review is for the Polo Lounge restaurant for lunch. It was a splurge for us and so worth it. The service was wonderful. A place for an unhurried lunch. The Bristol salad was gorgeous and delicious. We weren't staying at the hotel but we were very glad that we came for lunch.

Excellent hotel. Nice friending staff and comfortable rooms. Very well maintained and the location is great. Front desk staff is very helpful.

This place is 100% the place to stay. We used CV points so it was free...low expectations. We were greeted by very very friendly staff who went over things to do in the city and lots of info. AMAZING buffet breakfast...included! Free drinks in room and snacks. Housekeeping services offered twice a day... So kind. Great place to stay, we would stay again if we come back to Austria anytime soon.

Wow. Really Beautiful in an older antique way. The rooms are very large and include a adjoining sitting room. Each room has a TV. The bathroom has a tub and movable shower head. All the toiletries are provided. The room comes with 2 robes and house slippers. Our room had 2 balcony windows that open with a view on to the center street and next to the church. The bells ring daily at 7am so there is no need for a wake up call. Our breakfast was included and this was large and diverse. All different fresh breads. Eggs prepared any style, bacon, sausage, hash browns. There was a large selection of cheeses and fresh lox. There was yogurt and fresh fruit as cut vegetables as well. Lots of different juices, coffee and real Cream. Yummy!

Family visiting from Hawaii, California, and Arizona, USA. Went in for a brief moment while site seeing and seeing what we would like to eat since we had just finished the Sound of Music tour. Was welcomed in to use the rest room, but then the receptionist yelled at me only a few minutes later like I appeared out of nowhere. She said I must announce myself. I informed her I thought she would have remembered as I was just there and apologized...but for what was obviously her over site. When my family was done in the lobby it became clear that she had summoned the "butler" to make sure we kept moving. Very uncourteous and rude treatment from staff, would not recommend.

I can't say enough great things about our stay at Hotel Bristol. The staff was very attentive and helpful. Our rooms were amazing and the breakfast was so good!! Thank you for making our visit to beautiful Salzburg even more memorable.

I was visiting Europe for the first time, was in great need of a restroom, stopped at this Hotel on August 12th around 4pm, the woman at the front desk refused to allow me to use the restroom,Must be my skin color was not as white as hers, I will never stay at this hotel even if I visited Salzburg again. What do you think? The tour guide later informed me that the staff is not allowed to refuse anyone use of the restrooms.I think the Manager needs to look into the poor service of this employee, I even snapped a photo of this rude woman,will use it on Facebook. I am in the service business, and if any of my employees ever treat any person this way will be terminated immediately!

We stayed at Hotel Bristol in November of 2016. We had a lovely room on the top floor overlooking the plaza with distant views of the mountains. Both the room and the bathroom were quite spacious. Bed was very comfortable (and we were very tired!) and we found the room to be perfect for our needs. The front desk personnel were extremely friendly and helpful. Breakfast room was beautiful, complete with crystal chandeliers. More importantly, breakfast buffet was excellent with a great selection of food plus the ability to special order egg dishes. We had dinner in the dining room one evening. Food was excellent and maitre d' made good recommendations for wine and entrees. We'd go back in a heartbeat!

Awesome hotel. From the location, to the rooms, to the staff.. all fantastic. We will be back! I would highly recommend to anyone.
