Really this is a mid grade BnB at best. Location is great near the station for travel, otherwise cost isn’t justified. Not even a kettle the room is so small, dated and cold. I couldn’t fit my knees out in front of me on the toilet so had to sit sideways with knees under the sink. Walls and ceiling are paper thin so can hear absolutely everything. Wouldn’t return, not even for the fudge sweets on the reception which were the only highlight of my stay.

Loved this hotel. It is a 1930s hotel with original features. It is a short walk from the railway stations, and close to the Grand Place and city centre. The staff were really helpful and welcoming. Luggage storage was secure and really appreciated. The breakfast was tasty. The room was very comfortable and light. Would definitely stay again.

My husband and I stayed at the Hotel Brueghal for 3 nights starting September 5th. Shortly after leaving Lille and arriving in Paris, I noticed what I initially thought were mosquito bites, only to realize they were actually bed bug bites. These caused significant discomfort, intense itching, and several sleepless nights. My husband also had bites, though his reaction was not as severe as mine.||||Upon our return to the UK, I emailed the hotel to inform them of the issue, hoping they would address it and prevent future guests from experiencing the same problem. I even included photographs of the bites as evidence. I didn't ask for compensation or a refund.||||The hotel’s response, however, was astonishing. They claimed that an "expert" reviewed the photos and determined the bites were from mosquitoes. They even stated there was "no need to give a paid diagnosis." It's difficult to comprehend how they could confidently confirm the cause of the bites without inspecting the mattress or the room for signs of bed bugs. Their dismissive attitude and lack of concern for the well-being of their guests was disheartening.||||I can’t help but wonder how many other guests who reported mosquito bites might have actually been bitten by bed bugs. Based on this experience, I would strongly advise caution before booking at this hotel.

This is a charming hotel in the centre of Lille close to the stations and everything in the town. Pleasant enough staff. Room and bathroom spacious, hand held shower was fine. But this first floor room was stuffy and smelly and needed constant ventilation. But opening the windows let in the mosquitos and even with windows shut the constant street noise throughout the entire night meant we had little sleep. No traffic, just the noise of people walking and shouting echoed around the cobbled street and tall church walls. Mosquito bites settled after a week! No air conditioning. Breakfast was good. Get a room at the side rather than facing the church.

Hotel Brueghel has a great location - close, but not too close to the train stations. As you head downhill towards the town centre, aim for the church spire and you won’t go far wrong.|The staff could not be more helpful and very courteously dealt with our fairly bad French.||The room was plainly decorated - blanc en toute - but very comfortable, especially the bed and the bedding. The most important thing, after all. Very clean too.||The continental breakfast is an extra €13, but boasts a wide choice of very fresh food. The coffee is excellent. We hope to stay here again - full marks to the entire team!

Comfortable and cozy room, very well located. Helpful and correct staff. Breakfast is expensive for what it is, very limited and in a tiny space. We have not seen the price we paid reflected in the stay but it was not bad either. I got the impression that the hotel management does not have much desire to provide a service corresponding to the price.

Amazing location and lovely hotel. Very nice old details such as a gorgeous lift. The room was very basic and as we selected bath, we were not aware this meant that there was no bath/shower combination. So be aware that you don’t have a shower then. We haven’t tried the breakfast so don’t know how that is, but if you are looking for a basic room at a good location for an affordable price, this hotel is perfect. If you want a more glamorous hotel room and more luxury then this is not the hotel for you.

Yelp
Not exactly the hotel of my dreams, but Hotel Brueghel did everything it was supposed to do: provide me with a place to lay my head for one night in a central spot, for not too much money, with a comfortable bed, nice view of the city from my 6th floor window as well as a convenient conference room (actually, the dining room) to unite a bunch of people. The place has a quirky grandma's house feel to it with random things thrown into the decor, like a mannequin bust in the hallway that freaked the bejesus out of me every time I stepped out of the elevator. Aside from that, the staff is friendly and accommodating and recommended a great place to lunch nearby. So all and all, not really my cup of tea in terms of design, but for the price and location, you can't really go wrong.
