Hotel Buena Vista

We didn't know that we booked a room with club access. We were very(!) pleasantly surprised. The after club food was excellent. And there was a good selection of free liquor (ume, sake, whisky, wine). All free flow. All-day coffee/tea, etc. The breakfast was very good too. I really enjoyed it. First morning was a bit confusing with the seating arrangements, but then all is good. Big (for Japan) room and bathroom. Quite decent location: only a few minutes walk from the train station. Nice view. Food, supermarkets, convenience stores all in the neighbourhood. Would come back here. Note: 3pm check-in, each hour earlier costs 6190 yen.

Clean hotel and very nice lobby. The room itself was clean, but a bit expensive. Free amenities in the room were nice and two 500ml bottles of water were also provided. The breakfast was wonderful. Would highly recommend giving it a try. We had originally booked for 1 person and upgraded to two (nothing changed about the room. Still same room just permission for one extra person to sleep there.) and it was almost as expensive as booking a second room. It would have been much cheaper to cancel the reservation we had and rebook it online for two people. Maybe not a common situation but do not upgrade at the hotel itself.

Large rooms with everything you need and beyond. The breakfast fits both locals and tourists, offering Japanese dishes along with western food like bacon and pancakes. The hotel is in a great location, 10 minutes away from Matsumoto Castle. Had a very good time staying here.

Clean, comfortable, pretty good location with access to restaurants, train station, and sightseeing spots. Some of the decor is a bit dated but I didn't mind. Definitely recommend taking the shuttle bus to their sister hotel for onsen - it's a large, luxe facility with a beautiful outdoor bath.

We had really pleasant stay with this hotel. This is our fifth visit to Matsumoto but first time staying in this hotel. Hotel staff is super friendly. We enjoyed the breakfast! It’s great that there’s a shuttle bus to the Onsen nearby. There was jazz live music after the onsen to close the day. Shuttle bus is available to get us to the station. This is our fifth visit to Matsumoto and we didn’t have chance to stay here before. We even stayed at the newer hotel nearby but I would say this hotel has better service and breakfast. The deco of the room we booked was a bit dated but it is very clean. I really appreciate the staff here maintain this hotel at high standard. We will definitely come again!

I only stayed one night. My room was small but comfy. It had good lighting. I especially liked the foot light for night.|It was convenient for walking to see some sights, including Castle, and for places to eat. The hotel lent us umbrellas as it was pouring with rain. When I got back it was nice to have a lovely warm room and bathroom.|Breakfast was enjoyable.

A dedicated business hotel. Limited amenities. Rooms were ok. Breakfast service was excellent. Shuttle service to the train station a few hundred metres away. Staff were punctual and friendly.

Short walk about 5-7mins from Matsumoto Station. Apparently this is one of the grandest hotel there. My room is small but really clean. I would stay here again if im visiting Matsutmoto
