Hotel Bussola di Hermes

This hotel stole our hearts! It’s cozy, comfortable, quiet, clean, and very beautiful. The team is fantastic! When we checked in, they suggested tourist spots to visit on the island, as well as directions on how to get there. They always greet us with a smile on their faces. We highly recommend this hotel.

Our stay at Hotel Bussola was fantastic. I first stayed here in 2001 when it was Bussola di Hermes and much smaller. I brought my family back here in April on our trip to Capri and of course we would stay here and no where else because Rita had made my first trip so amazing. Rita's energy and care for her hotel and all the guests has not changed in 24 years but the hotel has blossomed. The beautiful pool area and deck, the wonderful patio with the louvers, the statues, the gorgeous tile, and of course the well-appointed rooms are all amazing. And yes, they serve a delightful breakfast. All of this and yet no haughty, hoity, attitude like you would get at most hotels. Rita and Christian can give you great advice on travel on the island, sights to see, and places to go. There is a small grocery store just a minutes walk up the road for any picnic items or sundries you may want. The Hotel is conveniently located in a quieter, less busy area just minutes from the main tourist area and its shops, restaurants, bus stops, and attractions, which makes it even nicer. The Hotel Bussola is as close to home as you can get while travelling. Every time I come back to Anacapri, I will only stay here. Capri is a place for positivity and that is what you will take away from your warm stay with Rita and Christian.

This is Italy. The hotel is magnificently appointed with beautiful details. And they are constantly making upgrades, and adding to the beauty that is already there. But it's the warmth of the people that made staying here the ideal. It's not stodgy courtesy. It is care that you get the chance to see the beauty of the island, and the generosity of their nature. It's wonderfully located that you feel like you are part of the community. And everyone around the hotel is welcoming and lovely. Close enough to get everywhere you want to go. But it was magical to return to the hotel for an impromptu picnic on the patio, watching the sunset over the sea. Bar-none, the nicest people we met in Italy own this charming secret of a hotel.

It is aesthetically nice place - an Art Deco style, although far from the center of Anacapri, and they would send a vehicle for you to pick you up from the bus stop. They have good breakfast, too. Unfortunately, their manager Rita was not professional. The matter was that they have some neighbors who do pest extermination in May 2025, and one early morning we woke up from smell and smoke which lasted for several hours - all our belongings smelt with that poisonous thing, and we suffered from headache. I asked the manager Rita to return us money for that night May 9, 2025, but she said that we were stinking ourselves and some other offensive stuff - was much inappropriate, and unexpected, cause she had been good to us before. A very strange and hostile treatment of the guests. Not Italian.

The hotel is in a nice location and the receptionists were kind, but overall the experience was disappointing. Breakfast was poor, and one staff member made inappropriate comments and limited what guests could take. There was also no car service upon arrival, despite it being promised. Not good value for money.

The service and hospitality is 100 stars. Extremely clean. Right in the heart of town. Friendly people. Great and safe for all family.

I was lucky enough to spend 5 nights at Hotel Bussola. Rita and Christian who own the hotel were accommodating in every way along with the attentive, pleasant and helpful staff. The hotel is walking distance from shops and restaurants and a short taxi or bus ride from the port. The rooms were clean and the breakfast is served with love and has something for everyone. I would definitely return to Hotel Bussola!!
