Hotel Cafe Steni

We have stayed at the same hotel a few times before. It’s a nice hotel, located a bit farther from the bustling town centre, with great views. The yard in front is awesome, you can relax and listen to the sound of nature. You can have a coffee or drink there, too, even if you’re not a hotel client. Breakfast is delicious, although not very rich and they could offer better coffee. This time we were disappointed with the room. On a summer day I would expect the fridge to be fully functioning and filled with cold water. On the contrary, it was empty and it didn’t work at all. The bathroom was so small that every time someone used the toilet was literally hugging the toilet paper stand. One lamp was broken hanging and the towel hanger in the bathroom was broken too. The hair dryer was burnt. We paid 85 euros per night for a summer break, way too more than the actual worth of the room. It’s a pity they treat customers like that. I have photos of all the above but won’t upload them. I hope the managers will rethink their policy and offer better service next time.

The hotel is on high cliff, with an incredible view of the mountain across and a stream running at the bottom. It has a lovely courtyard, were you can sit and have coffee, drinks and have a bite to eat. The rooms are priced, not according to the view they have, but the decor they have. We stayed in the more expensive room that was in the back, overlooking a schools courtyard. The bed was so big, when opening the door, you basically fall on it. The lighting is dim (inappropriate for applying makeup) but it's clean and warm at night.

10 plus for Steni Hotel. Family business run by a wonderful family. Every member of the family has a specific task, and this helps to run the business very efficiently. Nice location, clean room, magnificent county yard. Nice landscape, and you can visit both parts of the ⛰️mountains the beaches. Very calm, and if you are looking for peace ,you will find it here. Very good food. I recommend country pizza 🍕. We tried all 3 tavernas from Steni and the best food we found only at Steni Hotel. Even if you are not staying overnight, I recommend taking a desert( homemade deserts ) or a wine in their garden. You will not regret it! Easy parking area! Great job, Steni Hotel! Just keep this quality !

Every summer for fifteen years in a row we come as a family for vacations at the Hotel Cafe Steni: hospitality, kindness, coziness, clean rooms, fresh air, thermal water and reasonable prices are some of the priceless gifts we enjoy in this simple, spare and at the same time elegant hotel in the foothills of Mount Dirfys. The atmosphere of warmth and cordiality created by the owners of the hotel, the Gerakini-Pappa family, is due to the close relationship we have developed over the years both with them and with the people of the village. Steni: for our children it is their "village", for us it is a haven of relaxation, rest and inner regrouping. The hotel was clean, cute and quiet. Our room was very comfy and clean. The breakfast was ok (we went on a slow weekday so it was expected that they will not have anything fancy). Unfortunately when we went there the bikes they offer were out of service. The location of the hotel is nice. It has a nice view of the village and of the rock. You can eat your breakfast in the yard which was very pleasant. I take one star out because the price seems a bit high for what they offer and for the room they gave us.

Hotel Steni is a great pick! Centrally located uphill, it enjoys a panoramic view of the round area and is a breath away from the Mount Dirfy and just 25 km from Chalkida and 107 km from Athens.||||The new generation and family members have undertaken the business and now is running by Zoe Gerakini and her two sons Costa and Vaggeli. || ||The hotel has 36 in all renovated rooms, nicely furnished, overlooking either the mountain or the beautiful courtyard of the hotel.||||The corner room we had was bright and airy with two doors with blinds, one overlooking the garden and the other, the entrance of the hotel. Due to the pleasant mountain breeze, we did not use the air-conditioning unit, not even once through our stay.||||The newly refurbished interior was functional and of average size while the pieces of furniture were brand new and in tones of wood. ||||Besides the safe, the hairdryer and a small fridge, there was a wooden wardrobe and a flat-screen TV.||||The bathroom was small in size but functional with a walk-in shower. Bath gel and shampoo tubes are provided as well as clean towels daily.||||Besides tea and coffee, breakfast included cheese and ham, local yoghurt and honey, marmalades fruit juice, omelettes, as well as different homemade pastries and cakes.||||One of the three nights, we decided to have a light dinner and we had the chance to try their pizzas out by their beautiful garden. The service was excellent, and as for the taste, the pizza was rich in ingredients and rich in flavours and taste.|| ||The hotel Cafe caters for quick snacks, -homemade Pizzas, pasta, drinks, cocktails, pastries and sweets.||||In all, this fantastic family hotel is an excellent choice for weekends, short getaways even longer stay.

The owners were incredibly friendly and went to extraordinary lengths to ensure we were able to get food as the whole village was closed. They found a restaurant in a village 6 miles away and drove/collected all seven of us. Great breakfast lovely spot.

This is an absolutely beautiful hotel in the mountains, with pines trees. Trees a river running through it. Absolutely gorgeous. The courtyard of the hotel is fabulous. Breakfast was delicious. The rooms are cozy with beautiful views of the mountains. This was our favorite place in Evia!
