Hotel Ca'l Bisbe

This hotel is a 2 star at best. We arrived with a 10 month old baby and a 3 month old baby after 10 hours of travel. On checking in we were screamed at twice in the street by locals to move the car from the street as we unloaded the baby. No help is given in unloading or carrying bags from the car to the lobby or to our room. No help is given on taking bags from the room at the end of the stay. No welcome drink on arrival you are just asked to check yourself in on your phone with an app. That is not a holiday or good service .. that’s do it yourself. ||5 days dirty cups were left in the room I had to ask for them to be moved and cleaned. ||Shower gel was left empty. (Poor quality shower gel and hand wash) no cotton wool to cleanse your face no face cloths either. ||Breakfast is less than average, no table service, a pretty awful coffee machine and tea served in a mug rather than a pot. Baby high chair was totally unsafe no straps to hold a baby in, and below a hard tiled floor. Unthinkable what could happen. ||The bar / restaurant is run by an outside company who literally chase you out of the hotel to pay a 20 euro bill when they know you are a hotel resident and the bill could be paid at the end of your stay which is fairly normal practice. It seems as though there is a shortage of money. Towels for the pool they expect you to carry up and down to your room and use for days. When you ask for pool towels they seem inconvenienced. It appears they don’t have enough towels as they were always in the dryer .. you have to wait for them to finish drying, so they clearly don’t have enough. ||Staff are in the main rude aggressive and defensive when you complain .. they do not want to help or go out of their way for you. I expect a holiday, I want customer service and a smile. Most things can be forgiven if people smile and try to help. A smile was difficult for most of the staff in this place. One lady was very nice, the rest were rude and abrupt. ||After the first night we wanted to go elsewhere we explained we were not at all happy however the manager said he could not refund us. We had a miserable time in this hotel and at least 4 mornings we went out for breakfast because it just wasn’t a nice enough holiday breakfast experience for us. We also ate out at lunch and dinner. ||In addition the Bathrooms very dated.||Reasons not to choose this hotel.

Wonderful hotel - exceeded our expectations. Location is spot on, minutes from the centre but really quiet and on a picturesque back street. The hotel itself is wonderful, homemade breakfast with loads of choices, overlooking the pool and amazing views. Rooms were clean and lovely views. Pool gets the sun until 7pm too! Staff helpful and a really quiet, chilled atmosphere. Could not fault this place. We will be back!

A good clean comfortable hotel all rooms good some great. Breakfast very good Pool great. The restaurant and bar seem to be a different company so nothing can be charged to the room. The dining is good but oddly poor value compared to restaurants 5 mins away.

Stayed one night after I finished backpacking. Great location 5 minutes from city center. Lovely pool with Mountain Views. Flexible on early check in and allowing you to hang by the pool until your room is ready and after you have checked out. Be aware, their shower changing room for before or after check in/checkout is an open shower without privacy in the gym, so if you plan to shower before or after you have your room you will do so in your bathing suit or be putting on a show. One gender neutral bathroom in the downstairs gym. Gendered bathrooms in the lobby. Breakfast is a mix of Spanish German and American. Fresh fruit, meats, cheeses, pastries, etc. The sangria is only OK but the Aperol Spritz was perfect. Bastian at the front desk showed me kindness that I really hadn’t seen in Mallorca to this point. It was a few small things but he was polite and chatty when I needed it and corrected some guests who said rude things about me as a visibly minority when they thought I couldn’t understand German. It was kind and the timing mattered a lot. Spanish 4 stars usually means 3 stars in the US system, but this truly felt like 4 star hotel treatment.

Beautiful hotel right in town centre. Excellent service from Sybil, Bastion and Arnold - thank you for a wonderful stay. Immaculately clean and wonderful bed linen . Air conditioning great … much appreciated . Wonderful, pretty pool area. Breakfast lovely on the terrace with pool and Mountain Views. We will definitely be back!

Our 3rd stay here and highly recommend this hotel. Free hotel car park only a short walk from the hotel which is set in a lovely quiet street close to the main square with all its cafes and restaurants. Lovely clean spacious rooms, well equipped. We always looked forward to breakfast lots of choice but especially the handmade cakes and pastries and the local orange jam. We ate at the restaurant here on several evenings and the food was very good. Friendly welcoming staff .

Absolutely loved this spot! Great service, the location was adorable. Loved the pool and the restaurant. I would absolutely come back! My only complaint is that the bed is pretty uncomfortable.

Positives: |clean ||Negatives: |Staff were totally rude and had a serious attitude for no apparent reason. I came to breakfast one day with a cover up over my bikini and they snuck the cushions from the chairs from me so as not to get them wet - it was 38 degrees. I didn't realise this and took another cushion and the women came and snatched it back from me. Unbelievably rude and definitely a more polite way to go about it. ||Doesn't feel like a holiday, they don't carry your bags to the room, you have to get your morning tea from a machine, breakfast food is terrible. ||There are paper print outs all over breakfast saying "DONT TAKE FOOD FOR LUNCH" and "DONT REFIL YOUR WATER BOTTLES HERE" - if this is not offensive to you then you will probably be fine with the hotel but I would say it sums the place up. ||The soap dispenser in the bathroom had only 1cm of blue soap left in it - again not what you expect from a 4 star hotel. ||All in all a very odd place and find it extremely odd that it has good reviews...
