Cal Sastre is a boutique hotel in a pretty medieval village. Eva gave a us a wonderful warm welcome and looked after us superbly during our visit. Jesus, her husband runs a really outstanding restaurant alongside. We had the tasting menu. 5 wonderful courses and hard to choose a favourite. If you like good food you won't be disappointed.

It was out second stay at Cal Sastre. The first one was in 2017 and it left great memories. The second time was not different. We were warmly received by Eva, owner and manager of the hotel. Eva is tireless to help you with anything you can possibly imagine. She handles the hotel and takes care of the breakfast. The rooms are cozy and very clean. Great atmosphere! The restaurant is handled by Eva’s husband, Jesus. What to say about the food? Well, people come from Barcelona to eat at the restaurant. Jesus prepares the best gin tonic ever and will surprise you with all sorts of drinks, “amuse bouches” of all types and a great, really tasteful food. You just feel at home with Eva and Jesus. Looking forward to the next time!!

Found this hotel through petit grand hotels and what a find! We arrived during a festival which made the medieval town really lively but meant cars could not access the old town. However this was not a problem and made for a better experience. Eve, husband and team were fantastic. They were very welcoming and made sure our every need was met. The room was pleasantly decorated, very clean and had a beautiful view to the mountains. Relaxing in the big roll top bath was a particular treat for patricia. Dinner in both the main restaurant and the smaller Italian cafe were both delicious with a good selection of wines. Breakfast was fantastic with a wide selection of local produce and wonderfully helpful staff. The surrounding countryside and the medieval town are beautiful and we would strongly recommend the region and also this hotel to anyone. In fact we already have! |We hope we return one day. |Patricia and Dhushy

Amazing hidden gem. The hotel and rooms are very unique. The host was attentive and made us feel so welcome. We were a short drive from fun things to do in the region. Breakfast was delicious!

It's a rustic building and their superior room has everything you need. The hosts are super nice and will take care of you and anything you need. Location is perfect if you want to be in Santa Pau, which is in itself an ideal place to stay if you want to explore the many routes touring the volcanic surroundings. Totally recommend!

We loved our stay at Cal Sastre. When we arrived, Eve, the owner, had left us a note to welcome us and say that she would be back later which was a nice touch. Our room at the front opposite the old castle was lovely: quite spacious and very stylish. The shower room was a decent size with a huge walk-in shower with all the spray nozzles etc and a loo with built in bidet/dryer.. We had dinner both nights under the arcade which is all part of the hotel. We also had lunch here on the second day. Both were fine-dining experiences with excellent service from Eve's husband Jesus and team. We had breakfast in the cosy cafe bar inside. The hotel was lovely and quiet at night and It was one we would willingly stay at again.

Jesus and Eva are ideal hosts for a great stay. The hotel is nice, location is brilliant, breakfast great. In one word perfecto! Well recommended. Lots of things to do in the area! Also great to have the restaurant right there. Food is excellent after a day of visiting the area.

The staff was friendly and helpful ; the breakfast was delicious; and the restaurant served up the two best meals we’ve had on this trip to Spain. It’s a great base for hiking and cultural tourism. We would love to return some day.
