"Hotel California feels like a local secret, except it's widely regarded as a top hotel in Palm Springs. The hotel has more of an inn or B&B feel, but with all the privacy and amenities you'd want in a resort. It's small, with rooms nestled around an interior courtyard and pool area filled with leafy plants, misters to keep you cool, and a fountain."

When looking for a motel, we like to find "boutique" hotels or more unusual places to stay. This hotel fit that description perfectly. Unfortunately we were only there overnight and did not really have a chance to enjoy the pool although we did enjoy sitting in the lounges there that evening. Our room was spacious, with its own outdoor terrace. The bed was very comfortable and the room was quiet. There was an adequate continental breakfast. Tracy checked us in and showed us around, doing a good job of explaining how to us the air conditioner, and telling us about the amenities. We would definitely stay there again if we go back to Palm Springs.

My husband and I, enjoyed staying at the Hotel California. They make you feel right at home, from the moment you arrive. We loved the community kitchen, and how we had lots of snacks and drinks available to us. When we came back from dinner, the pool area was adourned with beautiful candles! We enjoyed sitting outside at night, just relaxing. It was a very nice touch! Our room was very clean, and the bed was so comfortable. We would definitely stay here again!

Google
Sounds odd - we escaped the permanent cold fog of the coast to come here and get warm, and get in the pool and hot tub. Best idea ever. This boutique hotel is a gem. Candlelit pool at night is magical. Adult only. The most helpful, friendly staff ever, and decor that evokes a Spanish courtyard. Truly restful, relaxing and terrific stay.

Loved staying here. It was like a tropical oasis in the desert. The pool area was beautiful, there was plenty of seating and floats to lounge around. The rooms were well appointed and there were snacks and drinks that were complimentary. The location was quiet and there were only a few restaurants within walking distance. That was the only downside.

I can't say enough great things about this place! The front desk staff was extremely helpful and friendly, We were given a tour of the property and what amenities are available. The room was clean and there were treats available free of charge- since it was hot out we took advantage of the free water! The location to downtown and freeways was close and easy to get to. I would definitely stay here again for the hospitality and wonderful location.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this gem of a place, Hotel California in Palm Springs. The atmosphere was so friendly and welcoming, with a lovely laid-back vibe complemented by a great mix of easy listening music by the pool.||At night, the hotel looked magical with tea lights in glass holders dotted around, creating a warm and enchanting ambiance.||Our deluxe king-size room upstairs was spacious and comfortable, featuring a large bed, sofa, table and chairs, TV, kitchenette, vanity area, bathroom, and a spacious wardrobe—we were very happy with it.||Breakfast was self-service with a good selection of food and beverages, along with facilities to cook if needed. A thoughtful touch was the snacks and toiletries left in the room, which made us feel very well cared for.||The hotel is also conveniently located near the well-known Mr. Lyon’s Steakhouse, in a quieter part of town—perfect for a peaceful yet accessible stay.||We would not hesitate to return!

Google
Such a fabulous experience here. The rooms were lovely, the pool was delightful and at night they lit candles and left them all over the property. The night time swim felt magical here. Everyone was so kind and they really took care of us here.

Highly recommend this adults only adorable hotel! Staff was very friendly and helpful - shout out to Tracy! The pool was relaxing and loved the misters. The food and snacks were great, and the coffee was extraordinary!! Enjoyed every moment here - checked out, but didn’t want to leave!

Yelp
10/10 highly recommend. This is always our first choice when heading to Palm Springs. If they aren't available we try their sister site Desert Rivera also a good time. We love how quaint this place is. Adults only so no kids splashing around and screaming while you try to vibe poolside. They put adorable lights out in the evening so the ambiance is beautiful. They heat the pool so even in the evening when the nights are cooler you can still take a dip! Hot tub is always available as well. Plenty of umbrellas and misters around the pool area. There is a kitchen you can grill by, they have Continental breakfast and a large fridge in there if you need to store something that won't fit in the room mini fridge. Each room is different in layout and that's part of the charm! They have bikes you can use to cruise around PS, a lounge where you can grab a dvd for your room. All around wonderful place and we look forward to more visits!

Yelp
A diamond in the rough! 18 unique rooms, indoor lounge, kitchen, pool and spa! The staff (Traci, Terry, Corbin, Letty ,Eric and Samantha) are welcoming, attentive but not overbearing. This is not a place to "party". It's quiet but still fun and the property will sometimes have a DJ for a few hours on some weekend nights. It is a 21+ facility with some exceptions and overall it was more like staying with family rather than at a chain hotel. We loved it and will definitely be returning.

Yelp
Celebrated our wedding anniversary here. If you're looking for a comfortable adult-only hotel in Palm Springs I highly recommend Hotel California. Everything was clean and beautiful. the pools were open and warmed 24/7. There was an area to grill, a kitchen to cook freely, bikes to use freely, and a community room to watch movies.

Yelp
This is a sweet spot in Palm Springs...a cozy Spanish style property that is quaint & intimate. The rooms are immaculate & beautifully refinished. The staff is outstanding & you won't be disappointed.

Yelp
I recently stayed here for a birthday weekend with my girlfriends, and I must say, this hotel is so cute!  The room was cozy, stylish and clean, and the staff was kind and attentive. I loved that this place is located nearby Downtown Palm Springs, but without the crowds and noise, yet it's only 15 Minutes from Palm Desert, too, for more shopping and entertainment. My favorite thing was that the pool is secluded with a tropical feel, so my girlfriends and I could relax outside during the day. I enjoyed the bed and breakfast type atmosphere here, and I will definitely come back here when I visit Palm Springs again!

Yelp
There is so much to tell, I don't even know where to begin. Welcome to your OFFICIAL HOTEL CALIFORNIA GUIDE TO HAPPINESS! LOL. This is a small boutique hotel, that was previously a ranch. There are only 14 rooms , which I love , and the integrity of the original ranch has been kept in tact. The decor gives me Southwest Ranch Motif. The parking is limited, yet abundant. Meaning the parking areas are small yet we never had a problem finding parking our entire stay. Upon arrival we were welcomed by Teri and Garret. They were so kind and delightful. Teri served us these delicious margaritas and my husband was SOLD. We all laughed and took pics together. Teri stated Garret was a new employee and hubby and I were both shocked. His customer service was EXCEPTIONAL just like hers! We were in Palm Springs on business and stayed in the Casita Room. This room is a 1 bedroom 2 bathroom w/ 2 double beds flat. Full kitchen and flat screen tv's with local cable channels were a plus, however the private entrance thru the private patio was a plus! PROS: 5 star customer service FREE Parking Clean Rooms Great Location FREE Bike Rental Classic rock playing in pool area Hot Tub Cons: - I wish they had streaming services but I got over it real quick lol - Our room was rustic, some might say dated but it worked great with the decor in my opinion. When the Eagles sang "you can never leave" they told the truth! We made it back home but our heart is still at Hotel California! The entire staff deserves a standing ovation!!! Thank you guys for everything. We'll be back!

Yelp
Y'ALL! Believe me when I say, the reviews aren't too good to be true. This hotel is phenomenal! Exceptional! PERFECT. I would be lying if I said I wasn't skeptical at first, EVEN with the 5 star reviews. This is only because boutique hotels aren't my thing. Hotel California changed the game. I'm always booking the modern, sleek, fancier looking, main stream hotels, but I promise you, I will be staying here from now on. It's located minutes from downtown Palm Springs and is located in suuuch a quiet area away from all the noise. HOW PERFECT! As soon as we walked in, we were greeted with a smile and such a warm welcome! A lady grab our bags and took them up for us. They offered us water, drinks, snacks, you name it! We felt at home and so welcomed! The house keepers were even so sweet and eager to help. The ambiance of this hotel was so tropical, palm trees everywhere. The Pool was clean and jacuzzi was nice. The property was actually bigger and nicer than the pictures show. The pictures online and on Yelp do not do this beautiful place justice. They even set out candles at night which set a whooole mood. Man oh man. The hotel holds about 12 or so rooms, so you meet and chat with other couples/families fairly easy. We all hung by the pool! This hotel is an adult only hotel which we loveeeddd. The quietness and being able to have anything you want to eat or drink by the pool was great. If you want to come to just relax, don't look any further. The rooms had everything you needed. They even welcome you with snacks and drinks in the fridge (all free!). Nice touches such as black out curtains were in the room. I meeeaann I can go on and on. No wonder this hotel has 5 stars on every site you visit and they even have awards for best hotel! You keep doin' what you're doin', Hotel California! You go! Lol

Yelp
We had a wonderful time staying here. This place is a great little hidden secret. Tracy and Teri go out of their way to make your stay as comfortable as possible. We loved it and can't wait to return with friends

Yelp
I'm not sure what I was expecting when I booked at room at Hotel California, but the Casita just blew me away. Spacious with enough room for my guest and I to spread out. Upon check in, we were shown around the property and encouraged to help ourselves to snacks from the community kitchen, much needed after a drive through the desert from Los Angeles. There was also a little bowl on the table top in our room (more like an apartment!) with snacks and cold beverages in the fridge. There are breakfast goodies in the community kitchen in the morning, but to be honest, it was my first trip to the Palm Springs and I was dying to try one of the many highly recommended breakfast places. I ran into a few of the other Hotel California guests while there, and everyone was lovely. The fact that this is an adult only hotel makes it the perfect desert hideaway for me, and I will absolutely be back!

Yelp
Highly recommend Hotel California as it is a charming boutique hotel. The location has a handful of spacious rooms with details everywhere you look. Our room has a king size bed and plenty of space with a private entrance. There is a pool and jacuzzi which you can use throughout the day and night-Guests are respectful when swimming at night. There are bikes which you can borrow. The added touch was the candle lights through the property in the evening. There is a common kitchen with has many items to use plus barbecues for use. Kelly and Dawn are the concierges whom are very accommodating and welcoming. Here are a few recommendations Cheekys for breakfast and Del Ray for tapas and cocktails. Walking distance for Mexican food and cocktails would be El Mirasol. We will be returning.

Yelp
After reserving a room via booking.com, I was contacted by this hotel approximately 8 times asking for a check-in time. About 6 of those were voicemails coming from unlisted numbers (others were unlisted numbers by text and booking.com messages). Do I still have a reservation? I have already messaged them via booking.com, telling them I will be there and know I will be there before their office closes. Why are you still calling? After the 8th-ish time, I finally call them since I'm concerned they will cancel my room. An older woman answers who seems like she just woke up. She said she was at home and didn't know why I was called so many times. She is arguing that she, herself hasn't called me that many times. There was no apology or explanation about why they needed to know this. She's more argumentative and unprofessional and says "listen honey I run this hotel" ?!? "Listen honey" isn't the best phrasing for your guests. I'm already ticked off by all the calls and admittedly exasperated by this one; I again ask asked her why they called me so many times and that I wanted them to stop calling, but all she said was "wow, wow". This was one of the most condescending, unprofessional calls I've ever had. The old building means you will be woken up by upstairs guests walking around in a normal manner. EDIT: I just got another booking.com message asking what time I will check in, a day after I checked out.

Yelp
The Hotel California is a great place to stay in Palm Springs. The folks who work there are nice and accommodating. Terry is a gem. Comfortable beds, I think we were in Room 1 or 2. Ok, one less star: the view out the back window of our room was a wasteland of discarded, awful looking lounge chairs. Just one mess on top of another, literally. That's if you dare to open that curtain. I did because we wanted more light in the room. I asked our host about the disarray on the side yard and he answered that it was the fault of the neighbors and that you can't pick your neighbors. Well ok, I checked next door and located there is a very nice looking, clean Chabad House. I doubt that Chabad has a need for the same exact lounge chairs by the pool at Hotel California, but in gross condition. Why not take them to be junked already?? It almost looks like rats or rodents are having a hey day out there. Put some succulents on the side over there and your clients would have a beautiful view. My friends who had a room on the 2nd floor, also asked me to mention water temp in the rooms. They have a good point. The hot water (sink and shower) is tepid most of the time. We'd like to return, the pool and hot tub are clean and inviting. There are a lot of beetles and bugs in the pool at night, but I believe that they clean the pool in the morning. We did not use the pool for that reason, only the hot tub. Again, kind and welcoming staff but don't open your curtain if the back of the room faces the side area.

Yelp
Such a cute and quaint hotel with really nice amenities. Only a 4 minute drive to downtown. My husband and I were both very happy with our stay. We were welcomed by a very friendly lady who offered us some beverages. There were also complimentary snacks and drinks in our room which we appreciated! We booked room 16 which has the Murphy queen bed downstairs in the corner by the pool. It's very clean and pleasing to the eye. We appreciated the blackout curtains, flat screen TV with Roku (you'd have to sign in to your own streaming network account but there are also live TV channels to watch), big modern shower, and kitchenette, which has a mini fridge, microwave, coffee machine, coffee and creamer, and mugs. We could hear footsteps from the guests above us and it did not bother us, but something to be aware of in case you are a very light sleeper. Then perhaps an upstairs room would be more suitable, but I'd recommend this hotel nonetheless! There is also a communal kitchen where you can make coffee, tea, or hot chocolate any time. There's a water dispenser so you can fill up your water bottle too. This is also where they have a continental breakfast (toast, bagels, cereal, hard boiled eggs, yogurt, orange juice, milk, oatmeal, fruit, etc.) which you can take to your room or enjoy at one of the tables in their lovely courtyard. We didn't use the pool or hot tub but I noticed there were plenty of towels, sunscreen, pool noodles, and even a big floatie that guests may use. Maybe it's because we visited in cold November, but the pool area was generally quiet. Great customer service, delightful amenities, and clean hotel grounds. Highly recommend.

Yelp
So enjoyed, slept like a baby. Staff so friendly. Need to stay longer next time and hang out at hotel, so much to do their. Did go for bike ride with their bikes. Hope to be back soon.

Yelp
So... we have traveled all over the country. This hotel ranks in our top 3! Teri is awesome! She was very welcoming and made us feel right at home and special. The grounds are beautiful as is the room and the pool was just right. This is definitely going to be a place we will return to. Highly recommend!

Yelp
An excellent place to chill for a special weekend. Very clean, best location for downtown sites. Near excellent variety of restaurants. Quiet & serene vibe. We will return to this diamond. Thx Ava for your professionalism in all needs. The Moore's

Yelp
Always a pleasure to stay at Hotel California, the service provided by the staff, particularly Dawn, is thoughtful and accommodating, which is a reason we keep coming back. We'll be back again next year.

Yelp
There are SO many wonderful things to say about this fabulous little gem in Palm Springs! The day before check in I received a phone call from Dawn to found out what time I'd be arriving and who was joining me. The next day, upon arrival, we were greeted by name, by Misty who offered us cold beverages and a tour of the cozy little 17-room boutique hotel. While we were on tour we ran into Dawn who greeted us with a warm smile and offered to take over the tour. Misty kept at it. It's nice to be overly accommodated. We went out on the town for a few hours and came back to a beautiful outside candlelit and twinkling light ambiance. Since it's off-season in Palm Springs in August, we had the pool and jacuzzi to ourselves. Everything was clean, beautiful and perfect. We stayed in the King Room - Poolside. We were about 3 steps from the pool and had two lounge chairs right outside the door marked with a sign, "Reserved for Room 2." We love seeing and staying at different places and don't usually stay in the same place more than once. But we may be back with a group! It is indeed a perfect spot for multiples to stay. You're in close proximity with each room (but not too close!) having a private outside entrance leading directly to the courtyard. Lots of lounging by the poolside and tables and chairs to share time together with friends and family. The entrances are beautiful and are gated, and locked at night. Parking is plentiful, at least it is in off season. Breakfast the next morning at Elmer's was the perfect ending to a perfect stay.

Don M.

Yelp
We have been coming here for years. Loved the wine on arrival, popcorn when you ask them to make it, complimentary snacks in room, friendly hosts, relaxing atmosphere. Will go to Desert Riviera from now on. Hotel California now has the stupid policy of reserving the only comfortable cushioned set of chairs to one room. Another room has a couple of lounge chairs reserved for them. All the other rooms are out of luck. I have mobility issues, and very hard to get in and out of lounge chairs. A couple of tables with chairs are available if you get their first. Was told it was due to noise of people talking while sitting in chairs outside their room. Three out of five nights we stayed there were noisy people sitting right outside our door. I expect that. People like to visit with each other. Their reasoning makes no sense. It's lost it's charm for us. We won't be back!

Yelp
Anniversary night here with my wife, and it was mostly a disappointment. The staff did nothing to make it special. Not a LGBTQ+ friendly place. The room was sad with one small painting and the rest just blank, barren walls. The room smelled really strongly of cleaner, enough to irritate my eyes. The pool was understandably warm, but it was also quite dirty. A group of couples (6 in total) stood in the center of the pool vaping, when asked if my wife and I could smoke the staff said we had to leave the property in 115 degree heat. Despite being "against the rules," all six people could vape right in the center of the pool. Then the staff asked everyone at the pool if we wanted margaritas, everyone said, Yes! They then brought out a big tray of them and presented them only to the group of couples. We were woken up in the middle of the night by the plumbing pipes screaming for 30 minutes. The grounds are beautiful. Pedro, the DJ, was great. And there are many great eating spots nearby.

Yelp
Hotel California did not disappoint once again. We stayed here again for Valentine's weekend, to celebrate my birthday and our anniversary. We feel so spoiled here with all the amenities, the food /snacks/coffee/full kitchen and the beautiful and cozy sitting areas within the courtyard. Misty and Dawn... and everyone else in charge.... YOU ALL ARE AWESOME... so friendly, polite and extremely helpful.

Yelp
An overnight stay in Palm Springs landed me at the Hotel California, my first experience at a boutique style hotel. Check-in was pleasant, the property manager was very friendly and accommodating. The complimentary Golden Road Mango Cart beer was a plus. The hotel grounds were clean, I enjoyed the lounge areas and greenery. The pool itself is small, but I enjoyed the fact that it is an adult only pool and plenty of lounge chairs were available. I did miss having a cabana with drinks. This hotel does not have a cabana bar. The room was nicely decorated, perfect for short stays with a small kitchenette. The only downside, the bed was very uncomfortable. Overall, my stay was good, I'd visit again for an overnight stay and try one of the other rooms out.

Yelp
I did not have a pleasant experience at this hotel. In fact I did not even end up staying the night at this hotel. Ashley at the front desk was very rude & disrespectful to my sister & I. She had attitude with us from the very beginning to the point where referred to my sister as "that person" and literally told us "when are you guys leaving the hotel?" WILL NOT be staying here again nor do I recommend to anyone else.

Yelp
Let me start out by saying this is by far one of the BEST HOTELS I've ever stayed at in Palm Springs. It's a hidden GEM I almost don't want to POST A REVIEW because I want it all to myself. From the moment I walked in I fell in LOVE with Dawn and her Genuine hospitality, I could not have had better CUSTOMER SERVICE :) especially coming from our not so pleasant stay @ the Quality Inn down the road :( You can read reviews , you can look at pictures but you must book a room to get the full experience of a tiny community. The amenities the Hotel California provided are SPOT ON. From the moment I walked in I was offered a cold drink and I mean anything from bottle water to a glass of wine or a COLD IPA brewed in from Palm Springs. The rooms are just what they look like on website but even nicer outside once it gets dark, the place is lit up with candles and they offer you fresh popped popcorn to go with your cold beer. I can not wait to go back :) You will not be disappointed . I'm on a tight budget due to the pandemic but this was worth saving for :) xoxo THANK YOU AGAIN Dawn for my cold IPA and great conversation

Yelp
GREAT place to stay ! They will exceed your expectations ! The staff is extremely accomodating assuring your comfort, and made our stay very memorable.

Susan M.

Yelp
Perfect location and spacious rooms. We had a small kitchen and dining room in our one bedroom. The hospitality was amazing. Upon arrival, we were offered a cocktail and additional waters. Breakfast was casual but included French press coffee. I can't think of a more relaxing place to stay near downtown Palm Springs!
google avatar

Michael C.

Yelp
This hidden gem is exactly what I want in a small hotel. If your looking for quiet and peace I strongly recommend. From the moment you arrive you are offered a complimentary beer/wine and the amenities don't stop there. Misty is absolutely the best and she runs the place as if it were her own. I can't say enough good things about this place. It's my new spot in Palm Springs.
google avatar

Robin G.

Yelp
Such a good hotel...I mean it's such a lovely hotel with plenty of room any time of the year. You can't beat that. Located on a dark desert highway but there is cool wind that blows your hair. There are mirrors on the ceiling and pink champagne on ice. Some come here for the feast and some come to fool around in the masters chambers. I come here for the wine and relaxation.
google avatar

Juri T.

Yelp
"You can checkout anytime you like, but you can never leave." This line from the Eagles perfectly sums up our experience at the Hotel California. We felt like we had arrived in hotel heaven when we were offered a drink during check-in, and we transcended to Nirvana when we realized that there wasn't a speck of dust in our room or anywhere else on the property. The staff are amazing, incredible and just perfect! The kitchen, the free snacks, the pool area and the friendly vibe are unlike anything we've seen in other hotels. We checked out just now, but we can never truly leave this experience behind. Five stars plus many more!

Yelp
Wow. That about says it all. Every so often, you come across a place that is very special. Hotel California in Palm Springs is just that. I'm still not quite sure that I can put my finger on what specifically made this place so inviting and so relaxing, but it was definitely both of those descriptors. The staff were awesome. They introduced themselves, chatted with us and other residents, and they showed that they really cared about our time there. The rooms were comfortable and well-appointed. We added on a romance package and the goodies were awesome (cake, snacks, champagne). We pretty much lived between the pool and the hot tub, too. The pool is 7 feet deep at one end, which is rare to find anymore. The hot tub, accented with Spanish tiles, was fabulous - set at a wonderfully hot temperature. The hotel also has a couples massage room, a kitchen area, and a BBQ area. Overall, and importantly, the ambiance of HC is just ... peaceful. We really did decompress, unwind, and relax while there for three days. So, kudos, to everyone there. It's a very special place and we shall return.

Yelp
This is a beautiful hotel with the kindest staff. When we arrived we were greeted by a staff member asking us what we would like to drink, completely complimentary! She gave us a tour of the beautiful property and how to work certain things in our room. The property is gorgeous and the perfect escape for a romantic getaway. We will definitely be staying again. They had many Covid precautions put into place that we appreciated and made our stay feel safe. The hotel was very close to downtown and they even had complimentary bikes we could use!

Yelp
Stayed here over the weekend. My room was immaculate and so nice! I had such a great time with my mom and adult daughter. The pictures don't do it justice. I also want to point out that both the manager in the date time and the manager in the evening went above and beyond. Both checked up on us throughout our stay. Definitely will be back again.

Yelp
I have stayed at many resorts and 5 star accommodations. This would get more stars if possible! My friend and I were celebrating our 40th bdays together for a girls trip and from check in it was amazing! You are greeted like you are a celebrity from the time you open the door. Welcome drinks, lots of chit chat and shown the place (its small but fabulous) and tons of amenities. I could go on all day about what is offered and supplied but it would take all day! Lets just say its amazing and every aspect of this place to utilize is open 24/7 and yes that includes the pool and hottub! Best customer service I have ever experienced and no incidental random holds what not. You feel right at home! The only suggestion I could possibly make is while the room did get nice and cool with the a/c it took awhile. The place is older and it was 120 degrees but maybe it was a fluke or maybe the a/c units just need a little update. This would not deter me ever from staying again and anytime I am only coming with adults (its 21 plus) I will be staying here!!

Yelp
What a hidden gem! We usually stay in Hiltons, but took a chance on this hotel. Was not disappointed, actually quite surprised. For a building that was built 74 years ago, it was amazing. There are a few rooms a nice pool and immaculate hot tub. We were offered free beer, wine and drinks upon arrival. The host was getting us reservations for certain restaurants and was just so accommodating. Our room was big and nicely appointed, I think there were two other people staying on the property. The have a community galley with coffee, snacks and other amenities. At night they put individual candles on each table outside. There is a community refrigerator that had fresh fruit, canned beer and many cooking supplies. No complaints and will definitely stay here on our next pass through to the beach.

Yelp
Just arrived to this hotel for the very first time after finding it on yelp Very cute and cozy The room is spacious and has a view to the pool and jacuzzi I'm glad we found this place and I'll definitely be back

Yelp
Just got back from Palm Springs. Stayed at Hotel California and was totally loving the experience! This is a boutique hotel that gives you 1 on 1 boutique service. They are very detail oriented and accommodating. I treated myself to a getaway with friends and we are planning to go back! Can't beat the nightly rate and attentive service. I loved the free popcorn and pool misters. Ashley the Inn keeper was super accommodating and was always checking on us during our stay.

natalie d.

Yelp
Really nice location but bad experience , Ashley the front desk assistant gave lots of eye rolls and unnecessary comments...made the stay feel uncomfortable. Was referred as "that person" in front my face, then looked at me said "no offense..."what person in hospitality talks like that... yikes! I would like to see a new face in that front desk if I decide to visit again. Before checking out this place read other reviews on them from trip advisor and google, many others complain about their staff, wish I saw them before just checking the great reviews on Yelp.

Yelp
What a gem. Quaint. Quiet. Clean. Cannot say enough about the Manager/Staff. We chose for New Year weekend and were very pleasantly surprised. Great location for amazing hiking or if you prefer to kick back relax and enjoy the pool/jacuzzi. This is an adult only Hotel which was perfect for us. Definitely our new go to

Yelp
You can check out anytime you'd like, but you will never leave. Oh how the song sings so true. The BEST hotel experience I have ever had. Staying at The Hotel California has been high on my bucket list for years. On my last visit home to California, I finally decided it was time to check that off my list. Boyfriend and I stayed for one night after visiting family nearby in Banning. One fantastic, relaxing night. One night is not nearly enough time to enjoy this true oasis in the desert. From check-in with Jay, to check-out with Betty, service was hospitality at its finest. A memorable stay with superior service created guests for life. WE WILL BE BACK!

Yelp
Years ago my husband and I went to this hotel, it was exceptional and we always talk about it. From the amazing service we had, to the little extras like wine and sparkling cider - the place was dreamy and perfect. I was recently planning another trip to the Palm Springs area, and Hotel California came to mind first of course! I wasted no time filling out their form online to check for availability (in fact I was pretty flexible at the time and gave them plenty of information to make sure we got our first pick of accommodations). I'm actually surprised they haven't "gotten with the times" and updated with online booking software. Modernizing the booking process would make things so much easier and avoid mishaps like this one. I waited and waited, in fact nearly a week and a half for someone to get back to me - no emails, no calls, nothing even though they asked for all my contact information. I am truly disappointed and have given up hope on staying at Hotel California this time because well people need to book time off, make plans in advance, etc and can't just wait around. I hope the Hotel California as my husband and I remember it is not a thing of the past, it would be such a shame. I'm not sure if it is under new management or what - but this is completely an opposite experience from what I remember. For this experience it's one star, for the experience we remember it as was five - so I've averaged it to a three star rating.

Yelp
Don was such a great hostess: kind, friendly and social. The hotel was spacious yet intimate and the pool was always set at a great temperature. Staff was quick with making accommodations. Would definitely come back. P.S. came here for an anniversary with my boyfriend and he also loved it. We borrowed the hotel bikes...took about 10 minutes to get to the downtown area.

Yelp
We choose Hotel California based in the rave reviews and being an adult only hotel. It is quaint and quite with only 17 rooms. We loved the intimate vibe here. Our room was beautiful and clean. The bed was very comfortable. Loved the community kitchen which was full stocked from spices to kitchen ware, fresh coffee, water and fruit. we were able to keep food in the fridge and cook our meals. There is a courtyard outside of the kitchen with BBQ's and a nice patio area to eat. The staff is fantastic! Extremely accommodating. Donna gave us a tour of the other rooms so we could see all of our options. Maria and Donna would come by offering cold water and beer while we were all socializing poolside. The grounds are beautiful!! I highly recommend staying here! You won't regret it and we will definitely be back!! Thank you ladies for making our stay perfect!

Yelp
Hotel California "You Can Never Leave". Omg my forgotten review...except I'm sitting in some lousy weather thinking about better days. November I stayed at Hotel California to have a great get away. Pool is warm staff are so attentive and guests are new best friends (so much so we booked ("The Same Time Next Year"). It was amazing. As always they attend to every need. I had dirtied my white jean jacket on arrival and they took it and got the stain out so I could enjoy it. That's above the call of duty. And the funniest story is me my partner and some strangers: four other guests (wife/husband, sister and cousin) all were to check out Saturday after a week and we got to know each other and we're soaking in the pool got a house free margarita and by noon asked for an additional night! They had a fun DJ playing any music we wanted by the pool. It was my best vacation day or night ever. Pro tip: go across the street to the Reef Tiki bar for a great burger and drink (take it to go to continue enjoying your stay). It was an amazing time. See you all again next year!

Yelp
Wonderful little boutique hotel.Upon arrival was greeted by Ashley and given a cold beer for me and Coke for my wife.Ashley showed us around the property which was small but very accomodating. We had the Junior Suite steps from the pool. They had a communal kitchen stocked with almost everything except frozen items. Ivan made popcorn by the pool in the evening. Can't say enough about the comfort and friendliness provided by staff.I travel about 5 times a year and this was the best place I've ever stayed.Highly recommended. No resort fee either.

Yelp
We had such a great stay! The new management is amazing! Misty I believe her name is, she went above and beyond for us and we loved the popcorn machine. I would just recommend to have the music at a higher volume because you couldn't really hear it.

Yelp
The staff here were terrific! Pretty basic first floor room on the smaller side. Clean basic tub and shower. Tiled terra cotta throughout. The pool area is really the selling point along with the fresh coffee in the morning in the shared kitchenette. There were all sorts of cool birds to see and hear (especially three VERY LOUD mockingbirds that we loved) while enjoying our morning coffee. Only issue we had was with commode getting clogged on our last day which overflowed. Yuck! Otherwise a quiet serene place to stay with super helpful staff.

Yelp
Stayed here for a girls trip and this exceeded all expectations! The staff was extremely attentive to our every need. Afternoon drinks were served daily by the pool...whatever we wanted...complimentary. Stocked kitchen for the guests with cold water and breakfast daily. Quaint hotel with a pool, jacuzzi and misters. I would definitely recommend Hotel California for a relaxing get away.

Yelp
Very cozy and clean little place. We loved the ambiance of the entire property but the pool and spa areas were so lush and quaint. Staff were friendly and helpful as well. Would definitely stay here again!
