Stayed here a couple of years ago on our last trip to Paris, REALLY nice hotel, nice rooms, nice courtyard, close to Metro stations, walking distance to the Arc de Triomphe. Very helpful, friendly, and accommodating staff. Everyone spoke English, and they were very helpful to a couple of American tourists. Highly recommend.

When I arrived at the hotel, there was a strong smell of sewage in the foyer. Assuming this would be very temporary I ignored it and went to my room. ||||However, the smell was still there four days later and there seemed to be no sign that it was being taken seriously. It pervaded down the first floor corridor and all the way to the restaurant, which didn't help my breakfast appetite!! Only when we asked what was going on and that it was disgusting, were we told it had something to do with some work being done on the elevator!!? No apology, no discount! Not really acceptable considering the price of the rooms.||||The room, however, was a good size and well appointed. However, this was let down by a shower that was one of those cheap plastic corner showers, way too small and leaked.||||As the location was particularly useful for our business trip, and despite the smell, my colleague and I booked again a couple of weeks later for two nights on a discount deal. Within an hour we realised that the strikes and office conditions were likely to disrupt our visit, so called to change the dates. The hotel absolutely refused to entertain any change to the booking at all. ||||As our team are likely to be travelling frequently to Paris for the next two years, the ultimate loss is theirs. We will not be coming back here! We booked at a much cheaper and better smelling hotel for our next visits.

Stayed several times for work and this place is okay but nothing special. Rooms good size but showers tiny, beds comfy but the whole place could do with a revamp. Room service not great and water is often not refilled. I stayed simply because it has a gym and these are very hard to find in this location, the gym very average but enough to get by. Location is pretty good.

Really enjoyed my time at this hotel...facility was clean and the room showed well. Washrooms good size with 2 separate showers (tub and stand up) ans most conveniently the toilet has it own small private room. Breakfast was great with a nice selection. Staff go above and beyond..we needed to do a money exchange and the concierge guy walked us right over to the mall ( The Champs) and he was right! The rate was much better than what we had gotten previously at other locations. On our checkout day the Taxis were all on strike. The front desk called in a private car and we were fortunate to make it for our flight. I would highly recommend this hotel, the service is amazing and the location is convenient to all restaurants and shops. Cant ask for anything more.

My wife and I stayed here on our honeymoon - the guy at the front desk upgraded us to an incredible suite downstairs. The room was beautiful, very comfortable. Throughout our stay, the staff was very nice to us. Also, the hotel itself is in an excellent location. I can't say enough great things about it - we would definitely stay here again, even without the much appreciated upgrade.

Stayed here for a weekend in Paris and the rooms were great. It was the perfect size and a clean room. Breakfast was ok, it was pretty standard. I also tried the food and they have a pretty good duck here. The bar was also superb and had entertainment with a man playing the piano. The staff was great and they were very helpful. I highly recommend this place.

It was another business trip to Paris and I had to use a hotel close to my company office. This hotel has ideal location since close to my company and in the heart of the city and business center. Service and facilities in the hotel are excellent. My main complaint is about the toilette which was very small and hard to get in and out having to do maneuvers in order to close and open the door.

We enjoyed another return visit for three nights to the California, accompanied by a teenager.||||The hotel is well located between the NE end of the Champs Elysées and the Faubourg St Honoré and it’s thus an excellent base for those focussed on the city's hi-end restaurants and retail therapy. It’s also close to Métro Lines 1 and 2, which connect the area to many of the major museums and art galleries.||||The inconsistent decor is generally traditional and there’s an interesting art collection of variable quality. ||||Our ‘family’ room was spacious and comfortable and its bathroom had a separate bath and shower, Vertical storage was more than adequate but horizontal storage was poor,||||WiFi was free, easy to use but slow. ||||Breakfast - included in the room rate for those who book directly with the hotel - is an adequate but rather ‘average’ buffet. Dinner is similar in quality and rather expensive (but there are many options in the area)||||All the staff we met were professional and friendly (although one of the concierge staff seemed curiously unaware of the fixed fare system for taxis to the airport)||||Overall, while it’s not ‘luxury’, we think the California is a well-managed and straightforward four-star property and a good choice for those who desire the location but prefer not to pay Parisian five star prices. But there’s lots of competition in the area.

Yelp
This hotel is fine, but nothing spectacular. However, I've come to find that Paris hotels are just not all that great overall. So this one follows suit. The hotel and lobby are nice enough, beds are comfortable enough, rooms are clean enough, food is ok, but again, nothing special. The bathroom wasn't up to my standards for clean (but my standards are fairly high!) with mold around the shower and tub doors. The breakfast left much to be desired as well. However the staff was very friendly and the bar restaurant was good. Also the location is perfect!!

Yelp
We were in Paris for 2 days. We originally had an apartment set up for our family but we ran into a problem with it. Last minute we found Hotel California during a busy weekend because of their local air show. We were happy with the hotel and the room. Staff was very friendly and helpful with directions. Being honest their breakfast price was too expensive. For what you pay a night to stay there it should be complimentary or a lot less. Other than that we liked this hotel.

Yelp
Im in paris for 9 days and will only stay at the hotel for 5 days and will try to find another place close by instead. The size of the rooms are decent and updated. i have room 103 which is on the street side and i hear too much traffic, especially the high end sports cars you can rent on the corner by the champs élysées. The cars are revved well into 2am. Regardless of being street-side, music from the bar is so loud and tonight is only thursday night. i noticed theres a bumper liner to cut off sound but it does nothing even with my hallway door in my room shut. it literally sounds like a band/karaoke in the hallway out my door. but the staff are very friendly and helpful. You are 2 blocks from the train station, open tour bus, champs élysées and 3 blocks from arc de triumph. Breakfast really isn't worth paying for or having here. You get pastries or hard bread. Pre-wrapped cheese, cereal, fruit, juice, coffee and tea. like a continental. I rather go out and have a decent breakfast for the same price. The low speed wifi is free if you are lucky to connect to it. I've been here for 5 days and have not been able to log in at all. I even tried to log onto the high speed wifi to no avail. I asked the front desk to help or give suggestions and he basically suggested I log into another room which obviously didn't work and gave me a free premium 24h wifi service that I couldn't use since I couldn't connect to the page to input the code. Then he just shrugged his shoulders. It's a nice enough hotel with friendly staff that aren't good concierges with basically no wifi free/fee with lots of morning noise from cleaning after 8am to traffic, and bar music until 2-3 am. I do NOT recommend this place at all.

Yelp
If there is no stars option I would've picked that. Took one hour to get me an iron with ironing table. Rude staff. Untrustworthy. I booked the hotel through booking.com, went to visit family in a different city (took my stuff with me) since I am packing lightly just to come back and find the hotel gave my room to a different guest. The hotel had capacity to accommodate the guest in a different room but choose to take my room (that I paid for). I am not sure how they checked me out before my check out date. I explained to the RUDE staff that I will be coming back. I would not recommend staying there unless you like to be ripped off.

Yelp
Hotel double charged me while I was there on my honeymoon. I tried contacting the hotel to see if this was a mistake of some sort. I left messages with the hotel on several occasions and never received a response. I finally contested the charge with my credit card company. They got a hold of the hotel who said it was for items in the minibar. I never drink or eat items from a minibar! $10 for filtered water is just not right, especially when there was a convenient store just a block away from the hotel! If you are a foreigner who wants to get ripped off, this is the place for you!

Yelp
This hotel is just okay. The rooms are quite spacious which I tend to like, but they do not offer complimentary water in your room which is a major downside for me. This would not be a good hotel to go to if you are on business. There is no iron or ironing board in the room, and the internet is a joke. Can't even check my social media in my room, so if you need to get work done in the comfort of your own room and need internet, you're sorely out of luck. However they do have an internet "lounge" by the lobby. Those things are really the only downsides. The staff are very friendly and helpful. Whenever we had an issue with our rooms, they were very quick to send someone up immediately which is much appreciated. Another great thing is that in each room they offer free travel buddies (a phone you can use to call, use internet, look up attractions, etc) so that's very helpful for tourists that are having trouble finding out what to do. Overall, it's a decent place but definitely not worth the price in my opinion.

Yelp
Went here on my honeymoon. Pierre, the mgr put us in a room with twin beds though I'd paid for a suite w/King size bed. I will never use this hotel again.
