I stayed at Hotel Calmo for 5 nights with my boyfriend and our dog, since the hotel is advertised as pet-friendly. I consider myself a fairly easy-going guest with no excessive expectations: I’m well aware this is not a luxury hotel. However, I chose it based on the positive reviews, especially those praising cleanliness — something that’s particularly important to me.|I’m also not someone who enjoys writing negative reviews. Usually, if I don’t have something nice to say, I’d rather say nothing at all — but this time, I’ve reached my limit.|The hotel charged us €13 per night for the dog (which I understand — many pet-friendly hotels do), but in five days, our room was never properly cleaned. I’m attaching photos showing the condition of the room on our last day in the photos section: dog hair still everywhere, the bathroom left uncleaned (with soap still in the tub from a previous drop), and stained bed sheets — not from us.|We raised the issue multiple times during our stay. We were told the room would be cleaned, but that never actually happened. Also, some of the personnel were not even polite and didn’t even care. One of the reasons they gave was the dog — either because they didn’t want to disturb him or because the staff might be afraid. I’d like to clarify that every time the dog was left alone in the room, he was safely inside his kennel, where he’s used to staying when unsupervised. So there was no risk at all.|More importantly: if the presence of a dog is a reason not to clean a guest’s room, how can this hotel call itself pet-friendly? And what is the justification for the €13 per night charge if even basic cleaning isn’t provided?|I’m deeply disappointed by this experience and I hope my review will be helpful both to future guests and to the hotel management as constructive feedback to improve their services.|As things stand, I’m sorry to say that the cost of the stay does not reflect the quality offered.
