Hotel Campo Imperatore

Fun as, travelling around the world, Italian people still have the best places for many things. I saw places like New Zealand, where you go there super excited for oversold local mountains beauty, and find myself, and many other people getting so disappointed as realized how over-hyped the whole country is... and then, there are places like Campo Imperatore, a place you did not hear of since two days earlier and did not even know it existed... and getting literally upset for how magnificent the place is. Shame as, most of the foreign tourists do not even know this place to go to more crowded and oversold places around the country. This country has a lot to offer, and many places are relatively unknown as Campo Imperatore. Do not misunderstand me, this place get extremely crowded, but local (or European) crowd. I do not have words to describe how astonishing this place is, you better go there and check it out. Extremely reccomended

Nice hiking experience. You can take the cable car or drive by car. Then 30-40 min climb to a hut. Definitely worth it. Of yourse you can go further

If you visit Abruzzo, it is mandatory to come here. This place is out of this world, a fairy land plateau on top of Abruzzo. You will find pure clean air, peace and quiet, the greenest grass you can ever see and a out of body experience. Don’t really know how to describe this place, not even the pictures show how beautiful this place actually is. First time we come here abd felt in love with it instantly!

Fantastic place to escape the heat of Rome! You could drive here or take the funivia (cable car). A bar, a bit crowded, is at the entrance to the cable car. The 360° view is breathtaking! A quick walk takes to you Rifugio Duca degli Abruzzi which is almost at 2400m.

The Hotel Campo Imperatore offers a beautiful view of the Abruzzo. The rooms are quite comfortable for people who like trekking because of position of the Hotel, at, almost, top of the mountain. There is a bar and also a restaurant that offer basic stuff for travellers. Notice that this Hotel was a refuge of the Italian Dictator Benito Mussolini during the WW2. Also there's a little church where the Pope Giovanni Paolo II did prayed.

The place is magnificent in the high mountains of Gran Sasso. A huge plateau. Lots of people, seen the season (August), but still worth it.

Not just trekking but the night spent there by watching the stars and sipping hot coffee ks the best , A must visit place definitely

Outstanding value, great food, location absolutely unique but the best of all are the people in charge of the hotel who are simply amazing: So kind, so helpful, always hard working and 200% committed !!!! I give this unbelievable hotel 5 stars... become I cannot give more !!!!
