Absolutely stunning, would happily stay again! Beautiful gardens and an unobstructed view of the volcano from our window. Lots of birds to see just sitting outside on the patio - hummingbirds, toucans etc. Cabin was very new and looked just like in the photos, very spacious, huge bed and sitting area. Safe in the room. Very nice shower with hot water and good water pressure. Excellent traditional breakfast. They have a private trail going through the jungle which was amazing, we saw lots of animals and birds there. Very serene place and feels very much right in the wilderness. The cicada noise at sunset every night was unreal.

The hotel’s location was excellent, offering an incredible view of the Arenal Volcano. The rooms were clean but outdated. The hotel definitely needs renovation, as it feels quite old. Breakfast was advertised from 7 to 9 AM, but if you arrived a bit after 8, many items were already gone and, despite our request, were not replenished. Overall, it was a pleasant stay, but in my opinion, the google reviews is far from the actual experience.

Beautiful location with a wonderful view of the volcano. We loved the stand alone rooms. Clean, comfortable beds, great hot water pressure, cute little trail along the creek. Lots of birds.

When coming to the Arenal volcano area, if you're looking for a peaceful little group of "mini cottages" so to speak, the Campo Verde is an excellent choice. This was my second time in the La Fortuna area and myself and my partner were very happy with our choice. While there are things I did prefer from the previous place I'd stayed at, such as a pool to cool down after you've done some serious hiking or forest walks all day, or a location slightly closer to town, it also had many great little perks.||WHAT WAS GREAT: It is further away from La Fortuna town, so you'll need a vehicle. Don't even think of staying here without one. You'd be pretty miserable and spend most of your time finding your way to get places. With that said, it means it is dead quiet at all times, as all of the little bungalows/mini cottages are away from the road. We liked that. You're also actually closer to the entrance of the National park, the 1968 Arenal volcano park, the free natural hot springs and the "Mystic" hanging bridges than if you'd stayed in town, as these are all away from the centre of La Fortuna in the direction of the hotel. ||The walking trail on the hotel premises is a great little walk. We saw some beautiful toucans, butterflies, and there might actually have been a slot, but we couldn't be 100% sure. It's just a very nice nature walk. Not recommended if you have mobility issues as while it's not a hard trail, there are inclines and you are in nature. There are rocks and roots to trip/slip on. ||Every room is its own building. You will not hear your neighbour, unless they are particular loud. Rooms have lovely patios with rocking chairs. You will, however, hear the sounds of nature, as they are simple wood buildings with no insulation. You'll hear the rain on the roofs too if it rains, but it's not like some of the other Fortuna hotels with metal roofs where it'll keep you up all night because it's extremely loud. It's a gentle sound that'll put you to sleep. ||AC worked very well and cooled the room down in under 15 minutes. If you're like us, you'll do without on your second or third night, as the temperature cooled down to between 20 and 22C, we found it cool enough to sleep without it. ||VERY GOOD STUFF: ||The breakfast was filling and consistent. It's a small, self-serve buffer, mostly traditional Costa Rican dishes such as Gallo pinto (flavoured rice with black beans), fresh cheese, fried plantains and small cuts of what pretty much tastes like hot dog sausages, with some other international staples such as toasts, cereals, yoghurt and tons of fresh fruit. Unless you are a picky eater, you'll start the day right. ||The staff we interacted with was welcoming and pleasant. Having been there and made a plan before we got there of roughly what we wanted to do, we asked few questions to the desk, but the ones we had, they were willing to help, no problem there. ||Shower with lots of pressure and mostly warm water. It stays hot for two minutes and then goes to warm, even if we only had the hot water running. Anyhow, I've taken lots of cold/lukewarm showers in Costa Rica, so this was perfectly acceptable. ||Bed and pillows were fairly comfortable. It's a medium firm mattress I'd say. Not uncomfortably firm, but definitely not a plush pillowtop type. One of the two mattresses was sagging on one side though, so it may be time for an update soon. ||ITEMS TO IMPROVE: ||Not much to say. If I were to nitpick, the "natural daylight" bulbs used all over the property (and they seem very popular in C.R period) give the rooms this very sterile hospital waiting room glow. It's just too bright white. It would be so much more pleasant if they had warm bulbs with a more yellow-ish tint. ||You'll probably be waking up early, but do know that the curtains are not blackout. When the sun rises, you'll have light shining in. The little window above your entry door also doesn't have a curtain on it, so while it helps there is roof over the area it faces so you don't have direct sunlight shining through, it you're the kind of person who can't sleep unless your room is very dark, forget about sleeping in past around 7:00 here. ||Overall, a nice place to stay in the La Fortuna area. Would return if ever back to the area.

Quaint Hotel with Spectacular Views of Arenal 🌋 🌺 While I had low expectations for this hotel, my three-day stay here left me very pleased, especially for the price. My first impression of this place was a breathtaking view of Arenal Volcano at sunset. The landscaping here is very well done and there are little paths all around the property and lush vegetation. In the morning, you get woken up by a symphony of birds; very romantic! They have a decent buffet breakfast in a cute open-patio room. The rooms themselves are well air conditioned and super clean. Our spacious villa had a small kitchen with all sorts of appliances and a nice shower. The best feature of the adorable unit is the porch out front with two sleek rocking chairs, which is great for lounging after a long hike. I had a great experience here and would recommend this cute spot to anyone looking for a rustic and romantic option! Bonus points for affordability.

Most amazing place. Family of 5 stayed in the villa. Clean. Was cleaned daily by staff. Breakfast varied and good options! Accommodated my wheat allergy when I asked ahead of time for oat flour pancakes instead of regular. The waking path is more of a hike and was not easy for our toddlers. Definitely no stroller, very narrow and up/down. But fun and beautiful if you’re able and want something a little more interesting than a basic walking path. Villa had AC in main living area and both bedrooms, not in the bathroom. Plenty of hot water and water pressure. Water is clean, you can drink straight from the tap. Our family had no problems, staff was responsive to questions via WhatsApp during business hours and helped when we had questions/needs pop up right away. Highly recommend!!!
