Hotel Candano

This is probably the most friendly and helpful hotel I have ever visited. All the staff consistently made us feel cherished despite having to struggle at times to understand us - as our grasp of Spanish is somewhat limited! ||Our room just like the rest of the whole building was spotlessly clean. We had originally booked for four nights but after two days cancelled our next hotel and stayed for an extra three nights. I think that says something positive about our experience there. Our room overlooked the sea and beach across the road. Even the food was delightful. The menu del dia is a real snip and although I am not an aficionado when it comes to the humble hamburger, theirs were so delicious that I had to try several different combinations. If you could get a Michelin star for a burger they would qualify, I have rarely tasted a more delicious offering than the bacon, egg and cheese burger served here.||But above all was the helpfulness of the staff. They booked taxis, buses, restaurants - in fact whatever requested - they printed out tickets and let me use their computer to arrange my return flight seats. ||Isla is a beautiful small resort well worth a visit and if you ever visit bear this hotel and restaurant in mind you won't be disappointed.

Did not stay at the hotel candano but ate there. Food was excellent, large salad and chicken and chips, could not manage a sweet. 15 euros. Highly recommended.

This hotel is horrible. It should be listed as a hostel. Some of the rooms are supposed to have an ocean view which in reality it is a tidal river that eventually empties into the ocean. To see the river you have to stick your head out of the window and look to the left and yes you can see it but just barely! The rooms are very basic and need to be updated. The bed covers had dark stains on them which I hoped were just chocolate.... Took a shower upon arrival and discovered we only had a foot towel. Went to reception and asked for some bath towels and the look on receptionist face was of disbelief, almost as if she thought we took the towels for ourselves. We go back up to our room and there is a very strong smell of marijuana throughout the first floor of the hotel. The hotel response to this is to spray an equally disgusting air-freshener to try and cover up the smell of marijuana use in their hotel! The smell became so strong at night that it actually woke my wife and I up from sleep. The hotel has no air-conditioning and was very hot because you had to keep the windows shut because the main road of Isla is right beside the hotel. Another negative is that there is a restaurant right below the hotel on the bottom floor and the smell of fried food is everywhere. I would not recommend this place to my worst enemy.

What a beautiful place! Hotel Candano was really homely and welcoming. Would definitely return and recommend for a short stay. So relaxing and really friendly people. |Beautiful coastline. We stayed overnight on our way to Comillas. Wish we had stayed longer.

Great, location, food, the staff is very friendly, the hotel is classic, but comfortable. They have a restaurant, lovely food, and always open to our requirements. highly recommended.

A parte de ser un sitio precioso y tranquilo, atendidos de maravilla, se come bien se está a gusto, y sobretodo el personal que tienen, ya no es que sean agradables sino que el coche de nos quedó tirado y si no es por ellos no volvemos a casa, sitio súper recomendado por todo

Pase algunas noches en el hotel y todo fue de mi agrado habitaciones muy cómodas, con una excelente vista, gran ubicación a la playa, la comida del restaurante está muy buena y tienen para todos los gustos las hamburguesas que están 10 de 10 la atención genial el personal es muy amable. seguro volveré a visitar este lugar.
