Hotel Cap Diamant (Quebec City, Quebec) Verified Reviews | Tablet Hotels

"Perched above the St. Lawrence River in Old Quebec, Cap Diamant is a nine-room hotel inside an 1826 building. Rooms are bright and spacious, with high ceilings, custom-designed furniture, and tall windows overlooking Cap Diamant or the rooftops of the old town. The interiors balance clean lines with warmth: wood floors, soft lighting, and well-made details. A breakfast room on the main floor doubles as a salon for guests to linger. Steps from Château Frontenac and Terrasse Dufferin, it is a peaceful corner in the city’s most walkable, historic neighborhood." - Tablet Hotels

This is a beautiful hotel in a perfect location. Slightly removed from the bustle of old Quebec but everything is easily accessible. A lot of care and attention to detail has been taken in the design of the hotel. The communal areas are lovely and offer coffee and wine. Our bedroom ( room 2) was at the front and was very comfortable and well furnished. There is building work going on opposite but it wasn’t really an issue. If you prefer to sleep later ask for a rear bedroom. Marie Eve went above and beyond to make our stay perfect. She helped us to book a restaurant on our first night and always had time to answer questions.

Absolutely loved our stay at Cap Diamant. The staff were extremely hospitable and it felt like a high end b&b. The decor and furnishings are lovely and bed is super comfortable. Daily breakfast enjoyed in the terrace was a highlight and also retreated to the courtyard during the afternoon. The bathrooms are extremely, extremely small but understanding it is a heritage building and not much can be done here they’ve made the best possible use of space they can I am sure. Location was absolutely perfect to walk to key areas without the exhausting masses of tourists outside the door. Parking was quick and easy up the street. I also found my new favourite wine from their wine machine. We will absolutely return!

We had an amazing time. Beautiful little hotel, more like a B&B because it only has 6 bedrooms but that made it more romantic and it goes well with QC which is just a beautiful city. The breakfast each morning was fruit, cheese, croissant, juice, and coffee which was perfect for us. We always eat light at breakfast. The service was outstanding from the innkeeper. The location is right in town so it’s an easy walk to everything. The parking is a short walk down the road. We will definitely be back.

This hotel is absolutely beautiful - design heaven some may say! My partner and I enjoyed a wonderful stay and thought the staff were particularly lovely. I'd love to shout out Marie-Eve who was so welcoming, friendly and gave us great tips for our trip. If we're ever in Quebec again we'll be sure to stay here.

We spent two nights in Quebec after a 10 days cruise trip from NY. My wife and I enjoyed every moment, walking in the Old City, having lunch and the coffee is spectacular. Oliver and Rose are incredible people that helped us when we arrived early in the morning. The experience is more than the website offers it combines the old and modern times beautifuly.

The location was great and our room was comfortable. The sheets were especially nice and I enjoyed the robe. Staff was also very friendly and we enjoyed the light breakfast. The one odd thing is that the barn door for the bathroom in the rooms is not big enough - it leaves about a 1 inch gap which is very awkward when sharing a room. There's really not enough privacy. Also, be aware that this is not accessible for anyone with mobility issues. Steep stairs up from the street to the lobby and then up to the rooms.

Staff very lovely. Hôtel very clean and modern with old charm. Beautiful neighbourhood. Smell is a little intense after a few days. Light breakfast served (croissant, cheese, jam, fruits and juice) is very small, so you will probably need to go have breakfast like we did again after that. Nespresso has to be the worst coffee, especially the ones in the room - disgusting. Would have loved a real filter coffee at least with breakfast.

This hotel has been recently renovated. We spent 2 nights here and absolutely loved it! The owners of the hotel really paid attention to detail. What I appreciated the most about the rooms were the plush robes, comfy bed, cozy slippers, free snacks in the room (gummy bears, peanuts, ginger cookies, etc) and access to filtered water. No need for bottled water! Everything in the room was well designed and chic, right down to the side tables that had a built in phone charger. The wine and water glasses were beautiful and the room even included a jug for easily refilling. There is breakfast in the hotel which is included in your stay. It was a crossiant, berries, and cheese. There is also coffee and tea available in the dining area. The only drawback on the rooms is obviously the tight space. We stayed in room 8. What they should have done is removed the large mirror by the bed and replace this with a wardrobe for storage or if not possible, additional hooks to hang clothes. Despite me and my partner packing light with only carry on luggage we did find storage lacking and hooks would have solved part of this problem. I would also recommend that each room is equipped with umbrellas as it rained the entire duration of the stay in Quebec City. Stairs are narrow, so if you have mobility issues do not stay on the higher floors. Staff were really lovely and welcoming. The front street of the hotel is very quiet and dark (barely any street lights which might be an issue with the City not installing many). Overall, highly recommend and 10/10!

Yelp
My husband and I stayed in this charming B&B for three nights in August 2024. The staff could not have been nicer or more attentive. The hotel did a great job transforming this historic old building into a comfortable stay. It's just a couple of blocks from the Frontenac and Rue de St. Jean. Luckily, we had Room 9 (neuf) on the first floor so I didn't have all the stairs. Some things, I might have done differently, but not enough to affect my review: Room 9 needs some better fitting draperies (or better yet, some blinds) and I would have liked a comfortable chair. Note to people who need handicapped accessibility: There is no elevator (common in these really old buildings), but if you can manage 7 stairs with a sturdy railing, ask for Room 9 and everything you need like the living room (salon), breakfast, and library will be on that floor.

Yelp
This hotel cancelled our 2 room reservation only 3 weeks before our travel to Quebec City, despite having made the reservation 5 months ago. We were left with literally only a single option to book in the old part of the city, for more than double the cost. It is extremely unfortunate that they were not decent enough to give us more notice, nor the decency to even phone us to let us know (cancelled via email). Shameful customer service.

Yelp
The Hotel Cap Diamant is a charming little B&B on a quiet street a stones throw from the Frontenac. I stayed here for three nights last weekend. My room was on the third floor. The room itself was very nice though I didn't appreciate the stairs much after longs days in hilly old town but c'est la vie. Everything about the room was just what I expected. Nicely decorated and the bed had great sheets and comforters and like 4 or 5 pillows. The room also had a fridge which I always appreciate. I can usually judge a Chinese restaurant by it's eggroll, an Italian place by it's meatball and often I judge a Hotel by it's (shower and toilet) water pressure (admittedly among other things). My shower, I'm certain, had a monsoon setting. It was refreshing! The toilet was on par with home :) The Hotel provides free wi-fi to guests. It was better than average and outperformed other (more expensive) places I've stayed. You could say I'm a power-user and it was up to the challenge. Parking in this section of town is hard to find and it's heavily enforced. Fortunately the owner has an arrangement with a very close by lot. That was a luxury I wasn't expecting. It did cost $15/day but well worth it and that's actually cheaper than you'd pay in public garages etc. One of the many cool little facets of this place is the dumb waiter. It is controlled by a panel behind a lobby painting and comes down through a secret door in the ceiling. What fun! Not only is it novel but it was much appreciated to not have to lug suitcases up three flights. Breakfast here is pretty much breads and coffee (and juice). All the breads I tried were good. One in particular was really good and it had raisins in it. The owner was very nice, very friendly. The young lady that brought us up to our rooms refused a tip for doing so. That was an good indicator to me that our stay would be a nice one. :) I'd certainly stay here again if I were so lucky to return to QC.

Yelp
The hotel is close to most of Old Quebec. It was very easy to find our way around to see the sites and restaurants around. The hotel was clean and well kept. The issues see had was that we reserved for 3 nights and before we checked in the Hotel called and told us that we would be moving to another room for the third night. Even after we asked why they said it had to do with Expedia, didn't offer a rebate or apologized for the inconvenience. It would have been nice to know that the room we were in the sink was in the same room as the bed. There is no AC, we had trouble with the TV and the hostess indicated that you had to put it on in a certain order for it to work but never gave us the instructions. I didn't mind the lemonystickit place with everything being just a bit off but I really would have liked all the information to be up front.

Yelp
A hotel with impeccable taste and excellent service. Expert craftsmanship, passion and the romance of history will woo you into giddy delirium! Worth every penny even if you can only spare a single day. This place was the icing on my "get away" Quebec cake!
