We stayed for two nights and it was lovely! Like others said, the view was amazing - our room's balcony faced the Eiger and could see the whole valley. We even got up during the night to go out to the balcony to see the starry sky on a particularly clear night; it was surreal! The breakfast was good, with a variety of cheese, bread, muesli options to choose from, and the view was once again spectacular. The complimentary spa area was amazing too. Don't be shy to ask the owner to turn on the steam bath and sauna. It's so soothing after a long day out. Go enjoy the jacuzzi while there's still light to enjoy the mountain view. Only thing to note is they only accept cash for less than CHF50 payments, that means you'll need to prepare cash to pay the tourist tax. Probably one of the very very few places we had to use cash in our entire EU trip this time. (But you don't have to pay as soon as you check in, so you have the chance to go to an ATM near the train station.)

We stayed at Hotel Caprice Grindelwald for four nights with breakfast and had a wonderful experience. The staff were friendly and helpful, and although breakfast was buffet-style, they offered specialty coffees and hot dishes like bacon and eggs on request, which added a personal touch. Our room was clean, spacious, and had a balcony with stunning views of the Eiger mountain. It included a kettle with coffee and tea, which was great for warming up in cold weather, and daily bottled water refills. However, there was no mini fridge, so storing food wasn’t possible. We appreciated the pillow selection, especially when my husband switched to a headache relief pillow that helped him sleep better. The hotel is in a convenient location, just a few minutes from the train station, bus stops, Coop supermarket, and restaurants. The free guest pass was a great perk for visiting places like Grindelwald First, Terminal, and Glacier Canyon with discount. There’s also a gym and spa, though we didn’t use them this time. Overall, it’s a calming and relaxing place, and we highly recommend it.

We stayed for two nights and had an amazing experience. The hosts and staff were exceptionally friendly and welcoming. Our newly renovated room was very quiet and had a balcony with a stunning view of the Eiger. Breakfast was tasty with plenty of variety. Highly recommend!

Hotel was close to the train line. Alexander and Gabriela were great host. We had a group of 12 and they made dinner reservations for us which was a tremendous help. Gave great recommendations on other sites also. Hotel was clean. Breakfast was good.

The hotel is slightly elevated and is just a short walk from Grindelwald station, making it both quiet and convenient. The room was spacious and spotless, and the breakfast was delightful, especially the sesame bread and cold cuts. The host’s friendly cat greeted us warmly and even played with us, adding a special touch to our stay. We stayed for five nights and truly appreciated the excellent balance of price and quality of service.

Hotel Caprice checked off all the boxes as an ideal hotel for our family vacation. There were 18 of us (7 rooms). The rooms were spacious, clean and comfortable. The location was within easy access to and from the train station. The morning breakfasts provided a nice variety so everyone was happy and full when we started our day. The owners and staff were very helpful and provided assistance and insight when needed as we planned our days. An added perk was my husband and I were upgraded to an apartment due to overbooking at no additional cost. This gave the family the room to gather in the evenings so we were able to spend more time together. A true gift for sure. Thank you Hotel Caprice!

Perfectly situated hotel, right beside the train station, which is very convenient. Our room was spacious and well-appointed. Tip: Ask for a mattress pad, the beds are quite hard. The view from the breatkfast room is fantastic, and the breakfast has everything you could want, though communication about what is available in the kitchen prepared for you wasn't clear. Arrive early, if you come at 955, there will be nothing for you. |The male owner is friendly and helpful with providing tips, the female owner made us feel as though we were an inconvenience to her. Less than hospitable, and definitely not friendly.

The hotel was lovely and the location beautiful but the owner Alexander made our experience less than enjoyable. He was unfriendly, unpleasant and sometimes rude. When we arrived I asked for ice and he made a judgement that "ice" water wasn't healthy (has he seen everyone still smoking in Switzerland )!He obliged in continuing to provide ice for me with no problem. Then two days before we left, my husband lost our Amex credit card. He asked us "how does someone lose a credit card). We really didn't appreciate that comment after we were already very stressed about it! We paid him with another credit card so he was fully paid. Then as we were leaving, he came out to our car and asked where our room key cards were. I told him I left mine in the room, and he asked "what about your husbands"? I told him I had no idea, and I opened the car door, because my husband was already in the car, and asked him where his key was and he told me he left it in his room. As if we would try to steal those little plastic room keys, I don't know what Alexander's issue was, but he wasn't friendly and he was very unpleasant. I'm not sure if he has a attitude about Americans because we are from the United States, but we will ever stay there again because of him. And may I add we were always friendly and cordial to him regardless of how he acted with us.

Yelp
Fabulous view of the alps from the rooms, restaurant and garden. Extremely friendly staff, always available to assist you. Delicious breakfast buffet and theme night dinners. A short walk to the center of town, bus and train station. Great wellness facilities. This hotel has pretty much everything you could ask for to enjoy a stay in the most beautiful part of Switzerland.
