Hotel Cardoso

From the check in to check out… Hotel staff were extremely professional and helpful. It helps so much that the receptionists are fluent in English… Also, I was able to exchange my rands to metcials at the reception too. The rooms were sparkling clean, crisp white sheets and clean carpets. Breakfast was amazing…. They don’t rush you and there’s always enough for seconds and thirds. Room service is super quick. It’s just an amazing hotel!

Hotel staff are very friendly and go out of their way to accommodate your every request. I arrived early (08.00am) and it was no problem to attend breakfast and wait for my room in the lovely gardens with pool overlooking the bay. Also the staff went out of their way when I realized at 0500 in the morning, that I probably should leave earlier than initially requested (for the airport to leave). The cook prepared a take away breakfast and the taxi was requested to arrive earlier. Kudo’s to the hotel staff!.||Rooms are well equipped though a bit dated (see other reviews of pictures), but the view made up for this. Especially the sea-side rooms are quiet. The buffet lunch is relatively expensive (26 euro) but the choice of food and the taste were quite good.|I would be most happy to return to hotel Cardoso, as it catered to my every need. (Great views, wonderful pool (though not heated I think) and good food selection).||There’s a nice restaurant on the left as you leave the hotel (well guarded by security) at the roundabout called Campo Das Acacias. Highly recommended to try.

Arrived at the hotel with the normal confusion trying to find parking. There were lots of NATO soldiers standing around. After we sorted out the parking, two blocks away from the hotel, we were booked into three rooms. Although the rooms were very big they started to show their age. The rooms we were in, shower walls were mouldy, and needed a good scrub. Some of the furniture were scratched and did not belonged in such a big space.||As we travelled a long way we decided to partake in the buffet supper. What a very BIG disappointment! The fish was cold and leathery and the potatoes must have been prepared hours before. Pork, all cut up, had a dubious past and inedible. Chicken wings made the last of the “ meat dishes” and was about the best, but nothing to write home about. The average price was R660 per person. We could have done better by ordering a hamburger from a take away operator!||Breakfast was completely different and all food was up to standard. Word of warning : Avoid the buffet supper at all costs.||Reason for the NATO soldiers was that the commander for Mozambique sector was replaced by a new commander. By the looks of the “grand affair” a lot of money was spent on entertainment.

Great hotel with a great service. The breakfast was fantastic and the view from the room just amazing. The hotel also offers airport transportation (for a fee) that gives peace of mind as Uber doesn't work in the country.

Warm welcome as ever, even though it was 8 years since my last visit. Cardoso is a true home away from home. Caring and kind staff, a beautiful setting and warm ambiance. Can't wait to be back!

There is no place to face the sunset as the garden of Cardoso, and it is a always a joy to greet the friendly staff and experience the old world style that is well maintained. That the location is perfect for many business needs and that the surroundings are safe and full of good restaurants does not detract from the pleasure of your stay.

You will instantly feel comfortable when you first step in. Its EXTREMELY well climatized environment with its lobby ambiance sound and looks will immediately drag your stress away. With two of the best restaurants in town, one directly attached to it and the other just a few steps away, you won’t even stress for a perfect bite. If you enjoy sunsets, you will definitely see the best one’s!

We had an excellent stay at Hotel Cardoso! The place is gorgeous, the staff is perfect and we loved to spend our day there!
