Hotel Carlos V Málaga

Although the hotel is not the newest, it is truly amazing for the price. The lady in the reception is nice and kind, and the room is clean and most importantly quiet. The location is awesome. Only the breakfast could be better… But just get the room without breakfast and go somewhere else.

Value for money this is not!You are paying for being in the historic district of Malaga. It is a great location but the price is very high for what you get. The hotel is old and dated. Dark rooms and noisy air conditioning. On the positive side the room was quiet, clean and the bathroom was spacious. We booked the hotel as they said they have storage for our bikes since we are bike touring. On arrival it seemed to be a problem but in the end there was a tiny space available.

A very nice hotel in lovely surroundings (Centro Histórico). Stayed for one night and really enjoyed it. The staff is polite and helpful, rooms are clean and you are able to park in a garage close to the hotel for just 12 euros a night. Just drive up to the hotel entrance and get the key.

This is an underrated hotel situated right in the city centre. Everything is just a 5min walk and there are plenty of restaurants around. The hotel room was average size but very clean. The bathroom was spotless. The service was amazing and they offer a reasonable priced good breakfast. The staff including receptionist and from the dining area were very polite and helpful. Highly recommended!

We had a pleasant stay at Hotel Carlos V. The room was clean, although a bit small, but the bathroom was surprisingly spacious. Jesús welcomed us warmly and gave us excellent recommendations on how to organize our visit. His tips made a real difference in how we experienced Málaga. A great choice for a centrally located, well-kept hotel.

Basic hotel but spotlessly clean. Comfy bed and pillows. Good sized bathroom, again spotless. Plenty of storage for clothing. Only downside is no safe in room. Friendly staff on reception and in breakfast room. Basic buffet breakfast, cold meats, cheese, etc Superb location, 2 mins from the cathedral and alcazbar. Despite its location it is extremely quiet.

DONT BOOK THIS HOTEL. The only positive part of was the location but it’s overpriced for what it is. Our room was dark, without any view but worst of all our bed linens were dirty and the towels were full of holes. When I told the front desk, an employee named Jesus was the farthest from nice and wasn’t helpful on the matter at all. He even suggested that I may be lying about it because I waited too long to expose the problem. When I asked to talk to a manager, Jesus told me it was the weekend so she wouldn’t be in again until Monday (and for me to call back) and gave no other assistance for a resolve.

I can't understand how this hotel has such a high rating on this site. My experience was as follows:|1. The hotel was very dated.|2. The room was small, dark and clean-ish. The one window had shutters that were closed and couldn't be opened.|3. The air-conditioner unit while cold didn't have the fan power to adequality cool the room. |4. Prior to arrival, I wrote the hotel about parking... never received a response. Upon arrival the agent said "oh all our parking spots are gone. You will have to go find somewhere"..... So beware.. they have limited parking spots.|5. We decided to change hotels rather than stay at this one... the hotel only gave us a one-half refund. We hadn't used the hotel room. ||On a positive note.|It is located near the tourist attractions.
