Stayed in this hotel a few nights. It’s perfectly situated for all the attractions in Malaga. Everything is in walking distance. Plenty of restaurants around and shops and bars. It’s an 15 minute walk if you want to go to the beach. Our room had A/C and was a good size and it had a huge bathroom. Twas very quiet although central. Continental breakfast was good with a nice spread. Staff were lovely and really helpful. I’d definitely stay here again.

Comfortable, quiet, very central location, 24/7 reception is very helpful, very handy to have good value private parking nearby, and good clear directions provided (crucial in Málaga’s old town) - but unexciting, and the breakfast’s definitely a let-down (no tostadas - normally almost a standard), no fresh orange juice, little fruit and poor machine coffee). Disappointing, too, though fairly typical in Spain, not to have any tea or coffee-making facilities in the room.

I can't understand how this hotel has such a high rating on this site. My experience was as follows:|1. The hotel was very dated.|2. The room was small, dark and clean-ish. The one window had shutters that were closed and couldn't be opened.|3. The air-conditioner unit while cold didn't have the fan power to adequality cool the room. |4. Prior to arrival, I wrote the hotel about parking... never received a response. Upon arrival the agent said "oh all our parking spots are gone. You will have to go find somewhere"..... So beware.. they have limited parking spots.|5. We decided to change hotels rather than stay at this one... the hotel only gave us a one-half refund. We hadn't used the hotel room. ||On a positive note.|It is located near the tourist attractions.

We were an elderly couple on a weekend in Malaga and stayed for 3 nights. Our impression is very goog value for money; nice hotel, friendly and service minded staff, excellent location, good breakfast, comfortable beds, clean and quiet. Can't ask for more of a hotel in this price category.

Good value for money. Location great, rooms very ok. Bathtub is not a favorite of mine but did not slip after shower.. Nice staff, clean nd quiet. View from my room was a white wall but since I was outside daytime I could not care less.

I was only staying overnight so that I could take some time being a tourist the following day and I chose Carlos V due to its location, car parking and value for money – a great combination of what a city tourist requires. And I was not at all disappointed. It is a fabulous location virtually adjacent to the Alcazaba, Teatro Romano and Catedral.|I arrived at the hotel much later than planned due to a number of “discussions” with my satnav which I eventually turned off. |Once I’d ditched the satnav, and with the help of a taxi driver, I found my way to the ayuntamiento and followed the route through the restricted pedestrian areas provided by the hotel and parked the car right outside the hotel entrance. |I checked in, was handed the key for the hotel's garage (50 metres away), parked my car and was sitting in Uvedoble Taberna opposite the Teatro Romano with a glass of Ribera del Duero in my hand within ten minutes. |The staff were friendly, efficient and helpful, my single room comfortable and clean and the ensuite had lovely powerful hot shower.|Located right in the centre of old Málaga, Carlos V was indeed a gem of a find.

This is a real gem of a hotel in a perfect location for exploring Malaga City! Check in was very quick and Jesus was lovely... stored our bags for us as we arrived early! The hotel is located in a pedestrianised street nearly beside the Cathedral... in fact we had a view of the Cathedral from our window! Shops, restaurants etc are on the doorstep and yet it is quiet and relaxed! The bedroom was spotless with a large bathroom, AC and a fridge! My only gripe was that we had requested a double bed but ended up with 2 single beds pushed together! Usually I don't mind this but these were not 'connected' so they kept sliding apart in a most alarming manner! Breakfast was lovely and fresh... fruit, yoghurt, cold meats, cereals, variety of breads, pain au chocolat etc and a machine for making your own tea, coffee, latte and hot chocolate... and we were greeted by a lovely friendly, smiling lady each morning! We would most definitely stay here again!

Not fancy but good accommodations if you want something affordable, clean, quiet and perfectly located in the old part of Malaga. Tough to find parking nearby though. Friendly, helpful staff. Room was tiny but I only needed it for sleeping and the AC worked great and it was quiet (interior room.) The breakfast was OK. Not complaining since it saved me a lot of money. Great for single traveller who wants to be out and exploring.
