3 Best Day Trips From Copenhagen

"Located in an old brick building (that was once a church) in the center of Aarhus, Huset Carmel is a beautifully refurbished (and new!) hotel. Aside from its ideal central location, the rooms are simple and playful with fun elements like sheepskin throws, antique furniture, and individual art works—attracting everyone from families to business travelers. There are beautiful old elements that are still in good condition, like the old pipe organ from when the building served as a church. The hotel also has a rooftop, perfect for the odd sunny day. This hotel is ideal in a cit not necessarily known for its hotel scene." - Mary Holland

Absolutely sublime service from present and genuinely happy staff. The hotel is cozy and clean as are the rooms. The room had access to a large rooftop terrace and we were met with a bottle of complimentary wine. Oh yes and they have free (as in unpaid hassle free) wifi here! The restaurant is much bigger than the guests the hotel has rooms for and again the service is superb and the food is in abundance and delicious. We were only here for one day and enjoyed it immensely. We're definitely coming back and can highly recommend this place for dinner or a stay. We haven't had this pleasant service since we were at The London Edition.

The staff are very nice! They found my son's lost video game and soccer ball in the room. We already left. They wrote me an email and send a picture for lost items. We very appreciate for that! Besides, the bedding and the floor are very clean, we also enjoyed the wood terrace on the top. It is very comfortable to have a dinner outside. And the location is convienient to visit the attractions.

My room shared a bathroom with the rest of the hallway. It was facing some kind of homeless shelter where there would be loud-voiced, drunken arguments all nigh. The room was a little cold and there was no way of adjusting it and it smelled kind of funky. No TV in the room and the WiFi kept dropping out every 5 minutes or so. Breakfast was limited. On the positive side it is quite central and there was a complimentary bottle of wine in my room upon arrival. The room was clean, the decor is original and the dining hall is beautiful. There are less expensive hotels in Aarhus that are more comfortable.

This was a fantastic boutique hotel in Aarhus! The staff was extremely friendly and accommodating to us from the beginning. Our room was cozy and tidy with creative and interesting orange Knick knacks, and let out onto a semi private patio. It’s a pleasant place to sit and have a coffee and just relax. The hotel restaurant was amazing. We only went for breakfast, and enjoyed the squeeze-it-yourself orange juice and the phenomenal eggs prepared by order in the kitchen. I have no complaints, it was a real treat to stay here!

A classic venue with a superb ballroom and exquisite food. The amenities are of high quality and the experience lives up to the traditional Danish standards. Highly recommend!

Boutique hotel on top of a fine restaurant. Limited parking beside the hotel (ask for a spot). Very comfortable beds and great wifi but no TV. Located close to the old town and beside transit for longer trips. Very friendly staff and a great place to stay in Aarhus.

Real cosy rooms. Old school and different than normal hotel rooms. Nice restroom and small beds. Will not get top rank because of the not so nice breakfast. Employee was real friendly though.

Cool former school building with lots of cool old school props. Room is overheated, airco doesn’t do it’s cooling job. Self-service / no human receptionist is kind of a pity.
