Carmel, Indiana Is Hiding a Christmas Market and Culinary Charms

"A boutique hotel that contributes to Carmel's festive winter ambiance, notable for celebratory moments such as Champagne toasts set to holiday music like "Baby It's Cold Outside," which help create a cozy, seasonal vibe for guests." - Wendy Pramik

This hotel is located directly next door to the Center for Performing Arts in Carmel (The Palladium, The Tarkington) as well as The Monon Trail for walking and biking. It’s a beautiful boutique hotel with Art Deco and music theming. Original artwork around the hotel reflects the fact that it is near the archives for the Great American Songbook. We stayed in a king bed room and it was lovely. The decor and amenities are upscale. There’s a minifridge with honor bar beverages and also some snacks on the shelves. The bathroom has a shower (no tub) that is a comfortable size. Also a closet with doors. Not a huge room but well laid out and is plenty of room for two people. There also is a restaurant, lounge, and a club that hosts some live music shows (Feinstein’s). My only complaint is that the mattress is too firm for me (but my husband loves it). Room service breakfast was very good. We have stayed here multiple times and always enjoy it. Highly recommend! Shout out to Giovanni and Jackson for their speedy valet parking service.

We got married at Hotel Carmichael a few weeks ago and highly recommend them as a wedding venue! Very grateful we chose Hotel Carmichael as our wedding venue. From start to finish, the team made planning seamless and stress-free, allowing us to truly enjoy the process and focus on the excitement of our big day. We coincidentally were the last couple in December 2023 to sign a contract where the venue offered a wedding coordinator with the wedding package. Hotel Carmichael takes care of everything from decor, linens, catering, wedding cake, bar and so much more. Highly recommend Hotel Carmichael as your venue if on the search. We had Mallory Davis as our Wedding Coordinator and she was so amazing and patient with all of our questions and any last minute changes. She also was very patient with our opinionated parents which we were very grateful for and thanked her for. On wedding day I didn’t noticed a single thing that was done incorrectly like people tend to say. We also donated all of our wedding flowers to my grandma memory care after the wedding and hotel Carmichael team was kind enough to store them all in an office the night after the wedding for my family to pick up the next day!

I stayed one night for a business meeting. The property is well appointed and clearly there is an attention to detail in every aspect. The food was very good and the location is convenient to walking around the Carmel Center area. Most impressive is the service - the staff is exceptionally helpful and genuinely responsive. Highly recommend.

✨ Hotel Carmichael is truly one of my favorite wedding venues to photograph in the Indianapolis area! The hotel is absolutely stunning, with a perfect mix of timeless elegance and modern luxury—every corner, inside and out, offers the dreamiest backdrops for photos. The staff is always so warm, accommodating, and professional. They go above and beyond to ensure the day runs smoothly for the couple and vendors alike, which makes such a difference! And with the beautiful Palladium just steps away, couples get the best of both worlds—an elegant indoor venue and breathtaking outdoor photo ops, all in one location. I can’t recommend Hotel Carmichael enough for couples looking for a refined, romantic setting for their wedding day!

First, I have to acknowledge and thank BROOKE for taking such preeminent care of us. She generously upgraded us when we arrived to accommodate a prior request. We had a beautiful suite facing the Palladium, as well as a double queen room. My kids and I felt like royalty. The beds were very comfortable and the pillows were as well. The living area was very nice and included a large dining table. The balcony and view were amazing. Brooke and the other staff at the front desk treated us so kindly and were extremely helpful in making suggestions of things to do in the area. The valet was great and very punctual. This was probably our favorite hotel yet. Cannot wait to return!

Not quite five-star service, but easily the best four-star I’ve experienced. The rooms are gorgeous, and the location is excellent—many quality shops and restaurants nearby. In three words: convenient, beautiful, fun

Staying at the Hotel Carmichael was an amazing experience. The valet was very convenient to use and 30.00 so not bad with in and out privileges. I would use the valet service again. Jacobi was also good!

I stayed at the Hotel Carmichael over two weeks and I had a fantastic experience. The hotel itself is impressive; it was obviously constructed fairly recently, but they did a great job designing it to have the grandeur of a traditional great hotel. I loved the chandeliers, touches of gilding, and soft colors throughout the entire hotel. The rooms are very spacious and well appointed, with everything you could need. Everything was comfortable and worked the way it needed to. The one concern during my stay occurred when one evening, I exited the elevator on my floor and I was overwhelmed by the smell of smoke. The smell continued even into my room. I contacted the front desk and asked if they were aware of the smell, as I thought something was on fire. They said it was coming from the wood burning fireplace in the lobby. While I appreciate the ambient effect in theory, having a wood burning fireplace in a hotel is not a great idea. Those of us who suffer from respiratory conditions can be affected by this strong smoke. I feel a gas burning fireplace could have the same ambience but would cause much less smell and smoke in the air. However, the staff was very quick and accommodating in allowing me to switch rooms to a higher floor where the smoke did not reach. The restaurant onsite was consistently good, and the location is great with many other food options close by. Parking got fairly congested at night. There is a small lot in front of the hotel which leads down to a garage, but the majority of the garage is occupied by reserved spots.
