We loved our 3 night stay in this cozy, charming hotel. Our room was beautifully decorated and we had a nice view of the small town square. Parking was on the street, in front of the hotel. Coffee, fresh squeezed OJ , toast and coffee are served across the square at Cafe Rubio and included with the price of the room. There is a gift shop that sells local food items, art, and jewelry. The manageress and staff couldn't be nicer. Steps from the castle. This is the perfect place to stay while hiking and exploring the Ribera Sacra area and vineyards.

Nice cozy place. Definitely loved the brick walls. The bed was very comfortable. But unfortunately the pillows were not. The shower was wonderful very good pressure very hot. If possible the rooms could have been warmer it was pretty cold at night. If you have a chance you should try their traditional cake it's very good. They also sell it at the hotel.

We choose to stay at this hotel on our way from the West Coast to the Picos. It was a very pleasant surprise? The staff was trying to speak English as good as they could, our room was actually spectacular on the first floor right above the entrance: not very large by clean and comfortable, and we could use a reading/seating area right outside of our room of we needed. Breakfast was at the bar across the street (same owner as hotel) and was basic (juice, coffee, toast, cake, butter, jam) but good. The night was quiet until some trucks had to unload at 6am.||Wifi did work as expected. But having had other experiences in other hotels, it's good to notice!||Overall we absolutely recommend to stay here if you are in the area.

This is a small hotel in a pretty little mountain town. The town is bisected by a highway, and a fair amount of highway & street noise could be heard in my room. Also, the room did not have an individual air conditioner and it got quite hot the day we stayed. All else about the hotel was fine. Everything was very clean and the beds were excellent. The floors are all hardwood and the interior natural stone and wood - quite lovely. Try to get a room that faces away from the street and, if in warm weather, one with a large window that opens. The town is small with some lovely old buildings. I noticed some other nearby lodging establishments up the hill that might not be subject to do much highway noise.

We arrived at the hotel - no-one on reception and a note to go to the Bar Rubio across the square. But not to worry; from that point on all was well! Very friendly staff, we were given a tastefully decorated corner room with stone walls, one window overlooking the square where we´d parked the car. The view of the town from the windows was great; the 6am refuse lorry less so, but it´s a town square so only to be expected. The hotel doesn´t have a restaurant, and a traditional breakfast is provided by the friendly staff back in the Bar Rubio. We ate in the evening in a little restaurant, Caldelas Sacra, at the top of the street to the right on leaving the hotel entrance. There we had some excellent octopus and steaks, washed down with a bottle of the local wine, at a very reasonable price, served by the owner who was both chatty and informative - fortunately my wife´s spanish is much better than mine! The small town is lovely, with views to die for. Highly recommended.

There is absolutely nothing wrong with this place, but it is essentially a number of bedrooms and a visitors' lounge, rather than an hotel. There isn't any bar or restaurant, although these facilities are available nearby. The rooms are comfortable and very clean. So far as I could tell there are not any rooms on the ground floor and there isn't any lift. Breakfast is included in the room rate, but this is taken at a nearby bar.

A real gem of a hotel, incredible value for 40 Euros. Real individuality, homely feel and very pleasant & helpful staff. Breakfast at the cafe next door included, waiter very nice as well. Charming town in the beautiful ribeira sacra region - we will be back.

I was pleasantly surprised by Casa Caldelas. Yes, it is only rooms and a lounge but the positives far outway the negatives. Spotlessly clean, comfortable beds, excellent shower and very helpful staff. The village is quiet and within easy distance of a fine Bodega which was recommended for some Ribiera Sacra wine tasting.||Breakfast is the let down. Very basic and not a lot of choice.
