We arrived at the hotel - no-one on reception and a note to go to the Bar Rubio across the square. But not to worry; from that point on all was well! Very friendly staff, we were given a tastefully decorated corner room with stone walls, one window overlooking the square where we´d parked the car. The view of the town from the windows was great; the 6am refuse lorry less so, but it´s a town square so only to be expected. The hotel doesn´t have a restaurant, and a traditional breakfast is provided by the friendly staff back in the Bar Rubio. We ate in the evening in a little restaurant, Caldelas Sacra, at the top of the street to the right on leaving the hotel entrance. There we had some excellent octopus and steaks, washed down with a bottle of the local wine, at a very reasonable price, served by the owner who was both chatty and informative - fortunately my wife´s spanish is much better than mine! The small town is lovely, with views to die for. Highly recommended.
