Hotel Casa del Coliseo

My stay at Casa del Coliseo was nothing short of spectacular! The staff exceeded my expectations and went above and beyond to ensure my stay was comfortable, entertaining, relaxing, and safe. The team was always ready to address any of my needs and provided great recommendations for food, bars, and other activities to do within the walled city. My girlfriend and stepmom needed medical attention during our stay and the concierge team and other staff coordinated an in-room doctor's visit to help address their medical needs. The rooftop pool was great to relax in and provided great privacy for sunbathing. What an incredible experience! My husband and I stayed at Hotel Casa Del Coliseo for our anniversary, and I cannot say enough about it! The building and decor are gorgeous! We stayed in a Superior Double Room with small balconies that overlooked the corner of the street with stunning view of the beautiful buildings and streets surrounding it. The bed was comfortable, and the a/c and ceiling fan brought much needed comfort from the early summer humid heat. The bathroom as spacious and also beautiful. Hot water was always plentiful.||The breakfast was always delicious, and the service was great! We like to have our own private happy hours in our room, which was simple to pull off because there is a small convenience store right across the street.||But most of all, I have to be sure to gush about our host and concierge, Martin! He greeted us with a smile a sweet fruity beverage and showed us so many restaurants and other sites for us to experience during our stay. He was there every day to answer our questions and provide more recommendations. Every single restaurant he suggested was PHENOMENAL! I’m already planning my return for a girls trip within the next year, and I wouldn’t dare stay anywhere else!||As others have stated, there is a bit of noise from the street, but from what I’ve experienced, that would be true of any place you’d stay within the walled city. The streets are lively every night. The only other thing I’d bring attention to is that there is very little storage. The large chest that holds the mini bar, safe, and refrigerator does have a bar on top with hangers, but it doesn’t provide space to hang long maxi dresses. We both lived out of our suitcases, which was totally fine for us.||I cannot wait to return to Cartagena and stay at this hotel!

The hotel is beautifully appointed and is very luxe but without pretense. The living room is very comfortable and has seating on the balcony if you’re inclined. The breakfast (included) has Colombian favorites and good ol’ eggs, waffles and the best pancakes I have had in years. The staff anticipates your needs without being intrusive and responded quickly to any requests we made- sewing kit, help with the safe, extra towels, etc. Martin greeted us and gave us fabulous tips on what to do and experience. We even texted him asking about the best rooftop sunset view and he was totally on point with his suggestion (Movich Hotel and be sure to get there a little before 5 pm to get a good view and table). We enjoyed the pool twice in one day and were the only ones using it. It felt like our private spa. The towels are thick and luxurious too (at the pool and in our room). We would come back here in a heartbeat. We read about it in the NYT- 36 hours in Cartagena - and just can’t recommend it enough!

Beautiful decor and amazing service. Such a charming old colonial style house carefully renovated with the nicest touches. ||Breakfast options were diverse and delicious. Plenty of great restaurants and bars on the same block or just blocks apart. ||Ryan, Christian and Martin were of excellent help with everything we needed. ||Will come back.

Perfect location, first-class service, very clean and beautiful room, it's like staying at grandma's house. The hotel is very quiet, and the pool area is very inviting. Highly recommended. Offers free bicycle service to tour the city.The breakfast is healthy and of good quality

Wonderful stay in Cartagena destination Inrepeat more than 4 times. Friends escape stayed Casa del Coliseo wonderful attentions and details. Thanks to all especially to Martin such an excellent detailed oriented and leader!!! We love you !!! He coordinated every detail in Cartagena. No words can expressed all my thanks

The hotel is beautiful, with a nice room and bathroom. The location and breakfast were excellent. However, we encountered two issues: 1. One pair of my shoes “disappeared”—the wrapping and filler paper were left behind, but the shoes were gone. 2. The check-out experience was disappointing. We requested luggage pickup at 9:45 AM, but no one arrived on time. Since we had to catch a flight, we started moving our bags ourselves. Just as we were about to get into our Uber, staff questioned whether we had consumed a beer from the minibar (which we hadn’t) and whether the bathrobes were still in the room. We expected better service from a hotel of this caliber.

This lovely hotel in the heart of the Walled City is perfectly situated for a visit to Cartagena. Almost everything is within an easy walk. Staff is friendly and helpful. Rooms are comfortable. Pool is delightful. Would definitely come back!
