We stayed at Casa La Fe for four nights in November - and we would book it again in a heartbeat. Before our trip, we spent a lot of time researching hotels in Cartagena and compared several options. Casa La Fe was our favorite, and it exceeded our expectations once we arrived. We chose it for its prime location in the historic center, its boutique charm with historical flair, and especially for a room with a balcony.||We stayed in a Superior Room with a queen-size bed and balcony. The room was beautifully decorated in a colonial style, very clean, and came with a minibar and a coffee machine. The bathroom was small, but perfectly functional. The highlight for us was the balcony overlooking Plaza Fernández de Madrid: in the evenings, we loved watching the lively street scene, soaking up the atmosphere, and still feeling relaxed - exactly what we wanted for our stay in Cartagena. The air conditioning worked flawlessly throughout our stay, which was essential given the heat and high humidity.||Breakfast in the inner courtyard was also a real treat: a very good à la carte selection with egg dishes, local specialties, and healthy options such as oatmeal or avocado toast. We especially want to praise the breakfast staff - exceptionally kind, attentive, and warm. You immediately feel welcome.||The hotel itself is simply beautiful: a charming courtyard with a fountain, tropical plants, and so many thoughtful details (including antiques on the walls). During our stay, everything was also tastefully decorated for Christmas - the lobby and courtyard felt even more inviting because of it. To us, Casa La Fe truly is a small jewel in the Walled City.||The location is perfect as well - central to all the sights and surrounded by excellent restaurants. We enjoyed La Mulata, Jardín Santa Clara (Sofitel Hotel), and Candé, and the nearby street food vendors are great too. We always felt safe in the area around the hotel.||The plunge pool on the rooftop was a real highlight for us. After our days of exploring Cartagena, we especially enjoyed the rooftop plunge pool: a quick dip, taking in the view over the rooftops of the Old Town, and then finishing with a drink at the bar.||A special thank you goes to the young lady who served us up there and also cleaned our room - she was incredibly friendly and attentive, and she immediately brought us an extra bedsheet when we requested one. Those little touches truly make a difference.||At the reception, Dennis and William were very helpful both before our arrival and throughout our stay - organizing transfers, sharing local tips, and even assisting us with an issue involving our airline for our onward flight. Always friendly, attentive, and solution-oriented.||A big thank you to the entire team for the consistently excellent service and the warm, almost family-like atmosphere. If we ever return to Cartagena, we will stay only at Casa La Fe - we felt completely at home.
