Unreliable service cancelling my reservation via Airbnb only a few weeks before my trip while I booked more than 7 months ago. We were planning this trip for our birthdays and they just say that they are sorry for their mistake. They can't even offer a proper alternative when they had plenty of rooms. Unprofessional treatment that doesn't make you want to visit Holbox. Not recommended at all, overrated location.

The room was clean and had daily room service. They did not always change the towels, but the personell eventually did when we asked for it which is good to know if you are staying for a week. The internet is not optimal, but it is good enough to stream some tunes. The airconditioning and hygiene is very good. Although it is in the centre of Holbox, and near to all the bars/restaurants/beaches, it is very quiet.

From the standpoint of functionality, this is a budget hotel. However, it is probably the nicest decorated budget hotel I've ever used. Also, I'm sure it had the best service of any budget hotel I've ever used. The bed was comfortable, pillows were good, the air conditioning was good, good location (unless you want to be right on the beach) right on the plaza, and the price was right. I never got hot water from the shower. I don't know if I did't know how to operate it, I didn't wait long enough, OR there's wasn't any. It didn't really bother me because I was usually trying to cool off from the heat outside, and the cold water wasn't very cold, anyway.

The room was clean and big enough. My daughter particulary likes the water coming out of a seashell in the shower and the sink :) Holbox accomodation is expensive, but this place keeps the price reasonnable. The beach is 3 minutes walk, the hotel is right on the central place with some entertainement in the evening. The restaurant was renovated so don't expect what is on the pictures.

My room was directly behind the Reception desk. Because it was late at night I thought this would be ok. The room had no ventilation and didn’t smell the best at all. There were no towels and when I asked the girl at reception she said they would be 20 mins. “Fine I thought. I’ll go and have a bite to eat” upon my return no receptionist and no towels. Couldn’t shower after traveling all day. WiFi did not work at all. No fridge. No safe. No bottled water. |Managed to sleep but was woken very early by the sound of people coming through reception. Could hear every word that was said. Went and asked for a towel, showered (be aware of the slippery floors when wet) I had no bath mat and had to use my towel. |Went and stayed a few nights at another hotel which was a tad more expensive but was well worth it.

The rooms are okay. A bit dark but mostly fine. The lock on our door is broken and doesn't lock or close probably. The TV is not really watchable as the antenna cable is loose or broken. The shower is well let's say unconventional and has a tendency to flood the bathroom. The balcony area outside of our room seems to be used to dump stuff and at night is very dark as there are no lights possibly due to the light switch haung of the wall. Also the steps at the entrance are very slippery as they are polished marble not a great mix with wet Sandy feet. The savings grace is that the AC works.

I had a lovely stay up on the third floor. Very clean, nice quiet AC, and super convenient central location. A good deal for the price, although no wifi as noted in other reviews. Reception was friendly and they have a cute movie-themed hamburger restaurant downstairs. I would definitely come back.

We stayed at Casa Lupita for a couple of nights in August 2015.||We had booked through Expedia, our purpose for the visit was whale shark swimming and we didn't prioritize luxury or beachfront.||The Posada is located directly at the main square, but as we had a room to the back (No 4) we didn't hear any noise. ||||From the ferry dock it is about a 10min walk with luggage, though not re ommendable as roads are not paved and if it had rained they are very muddy or simply flooded. ||However, taxis were scarce (we arrived on a Friday...) and we didn't want to queue. ||If you take a taxi it is 20 MXN. ||||The room was okay. ||The beds comfy enough, AC worked fine, bathroom okay. Only thing was that the water in the sink and shower was smelly. ||||Wifi didn't work in our room. ||Other than that good value for the price. ||||They also have a sister hotel (Cielito azul) about a 15min walk away where you can use the beach club (we didn't)

Yelp
We stayed at Casa Lupita for four nights during Semana Santa. There were some definite pros and cons... Pros: Very central location in the square, relatively clean, large room, comfortable mattress, air conditioning, great price, fun shell faucet in sink and shower Cons: Website is deceiving- wifi only works in lobby (not in room) and there is no beach club like is listed on the website. Did not get clean towels during 4 nights, just same two we were given at check in. Several lightbulbs were out in our room. Square got loud at night during Semana santa festival until 3 am (earplugs were necessary but solved that problem!) If you don't need any frills but want to be central at a good price, Casa Lupita is a good option. If you're looking to lay on the beach every day, you would probably prefer to book a place that actually has a beach club and is located on the beach.
