DO NOT BOOK THIS HOTEL UNLESS YOU DON’T NEED RUNNING WATER. I would have liked to post a glowing review of this hotel because it is aesthetically very cute! The location is pretty good. Right on the edge of Casco Viejo in walking distance to everything. Shops, restaurants, etc.|However, when I checked in with a group I was leading (we had 5 rooms in all) we were told the hot water wouldn’t be working for a couple of hours. Actually, at that time, the water was not working at all. My group left for a short tour and came back a few hours later. Sadly, at this time we needed to get showered and ready to go to a dinner reservation, the water was still not working! No running water, not even flushing toilets. We had to forego showers and just head upstairs to the rooftop restaurant. The restaurant bathroom also had no working water while we were up there which made us concerned about the cleanliness of the Kitchen staff.|The hotel employee basically ignored us and never gave us any information, not even his name. I had the contact of another employee who I texted with some. She was very nice and tried to help, but she was at home and there was really nothing she could do.|To make matters worse, two people in our group were sharing a room with a queen bed, but that room had such a bad leak in the ceiling that it was sagging and had visible mold. The staff switched them to another room, but that room had a very small bed for two people to share and also had a leak that dripped down right onto the bed so they woke up with a wet blanket.|Upon check out the employee on staff said she spoke to the manager who told her that if we contacted Expedia she would approve a refund. But, when we contacted Expedia we were told that due to having paid the hotel directly there was nothing they could do for us, and when we then went back to the manager they refused a refund. The hotel manager then texted me claiming that they had immediately fixed all the problems. This manager was very rude, refused to give their name and just flat out lied to me.|There are so many other cute places to stay in the area. Please heed my advice and go elsewhere. This place is not worth it.|Photos are of the moldy ceiling.

Here's a review based on your experience: *Excellent Location and Service at Hotel Casa Panama* I recently stayed at Hotel Casa Panama, and I was impressed by its excellent location in the heart of the city. The hotel is within walking distance to beautiful churches, delicious restaurants, and the scenic esplanade. The rooms, although small, were clean and well-maintained, with a unique touch - an ancient wall in every room, preserving the UNESCO heritage protection act. The staff, particularly Natalie at reception, were extremely efficient, trustworthy, and knowledgeable. She helped me organize a day trip and ensured a smooth stay. The morning coffee in the lobby was a lovely touch. While the hotel excels in many areas, there are a few improvements that would enhance the experience. The water temperature could be warmer, and a dimmer for the aircon LED temperature light would aid sleep. A smaller table would be more practical, and some natural light in the lobby would reduce the dampness and musty smell in the room. Overall, Hotel Casa Panama offers a great blend of history, location, and service. With a few tweaks, it could be an even more enjoyable stay. I would recommend it to anyone looking for a cheap, convenient and authentic experience in Panama City.

I had a good experience a couple years ago given the location. However, this time it was not good. First the reception staff is not happy about working here at all. Bad attitude even with simple request. Second it was extremely loud at night. I’m a good sleep and I got woken up several times a night.||The location is good and price is fair. But I don’t think I will stay here again.||I don’t think this is 4 star rating at all. Probably 2 star in my opinion.

It was too dark and smelt stale. The tiny LED from the air conditioning kept us awake. The hot water was lukewarm. |Central location and super safe. We walked everywhere, from seafront to many churches and restaurants. |Excellent receptionist - Natalie.

We chose this hotel because we liked its online rustic look. Unfortunately, we were disappointed from the moment we entered the building. The reception was a small room at the back on the ground floor. Staff were not very friendly. Our rooms were adequate but in my room the rear patio doors didn’t close properly so I was a little worried about security. Very loud music from the rooftop bar could be held into the wee hours of the morning. My shower also leaked water into the bedroom area. Not our best experience in Panama City.

Unfortunately, our experience at this property was so so unpleasant. The reception staff were incredibly unfriendly and unwelcoming — it genuinely felt more like dealing with prison employees than hospitality professionals. The room itself was in poor condition: it had a strong, unpleasant mold smell and signs of mold in both the bathroom. To make matters worse, there was only cold water available in the showers, and the towels had an unpleasant human odor. One of the most misleading aspects was the lack of windows in most rooms, which is not mentioned anywhere. This, combined with extremely thin walls, meant there was zero privacy — I could hear conversations and phone calls from other rooms as if they were happening in mine. Overall, I strongly advise staying elsewhere. There are better options out there for your comfort and peace of mind; do not ruin your stay in beautiful Panama by staying here.

Hotel was such a conundrum. Part of it was cool, quaint and awesome, part of it kinda sucked. I would say 3.5-3.75 stars.|No coffee in room which sucked. Window in the bathroom was odd. You could be watched showering and doing your bathroom biz.|It was noisy but the location was perfect. Rooftop bar and pool was cool.Give and take. Balcony was cool. Shared with other rooms but not bad.

It is so loud. I thought I could sleep through anything, but the 5am marching band + fireworks proved me wrong. The rooms & locations were nice, but I would not stay here again without better sound proofing for the rooms. Attached is a video taken at 5:30 am on a Monday (my husband said the music started at 3am and woke him up then, but I was able to sleep through it for a bit)
