If you like rooming with roaches, then book this. While the location may appeal to some, the overall experience was deeply disappointing and did not come close to four-star standards. The hotel had a persistent humid, musty and dirty smell throughout which made the room uncomfortable. I only spent a night here and checked out to a better and clean hotel Cleanliness was a major issue: I found a roach leg inside a towel and later saw a dead roach in the room. There was hair on the wall and in the bed, along with visible stains on the walls and chair cushions, and dirty, heavily stained curtains The toilet seat was black, which makes it difficult for guests to feel confident about hygiene and whether it has been properly cleaned. The noise level is another concern. There is a bar upstairs, and noise travels easily into the rooms, making it hard to rest, especially at night. Room design also presents problems. SOme windows face the interior hallway instead of outdoors, which means no natural light. Because of privacy concerns, the curtains cannot be opened, leaving the room dark and closed off. Common areas were also disappointing. The hotel entrance appeared dirty, and the reception area was cluttered and unkempt. Unfortunately, the front desk experience was not welcoming, with staff coming across as rude and dismissive rather than helpful. Given these issues, it’s difficult to understand how this property is rated as a 4-star hotel. With significant improvements needed in cleanliness, maintenance, noise control, and service, the hotel does not currently meet the expectations typically associated with that rating. Travelers looking for comfort, cleanliness, and a restful stay may want to consider other options.

The rooms are small and internal, at least the one I was in was on the ground floor. The service is standard, friendly, the place is clean, and the location is fantastic. The only downside is that it's noisy in the evenings. Pipes run through the room, and you can hear the water running through the toilets. The rooms aren't soundproofed at all, and every movement from the upper floors is loud in the room day and night. Overall, everything is fine. It's a very lively and beautiful area to explore on foot.

Very well-located hotel in the heart of Panama City, Casco Viejo, where stayed for the first 3 nights in Panama for the Independence celebration where the annual Independence parade is passing by right at the hotel entrance. The staff of both the hotel and their rooftop restaurant L'Azotea were very kind and helpful, I felt welcome during the whole stay, and I even made friend with one of the staff members, Carmen. The place is also beautiful, a spacious room and bathroom, also appreciated the fact of a mini fridge in the room. And you also had a free welcome drink at a bar next door, which I only discovered on the day of check out. Too bad I didn't realize they offered a free welcome drink, as I read the note on the desk in the room on the last day and they didn't tell me either during check in. The only improvement would be maybe to change the door locks with keycards, instead of keys.

Just don't stay here. Management rented rooms while hosting a very loud party in the building (we were told it was a staff party). It was Sunday night, and at 2:30 a.m. the noise was so loud we couldn’t sleep. When we calmly asked about it, staff were rude and confrontational instead of offering a solution. If you’re looking for a reliable, restful stay in Casco Viejo, this isn’t it.

DO NOT BOOK THIS HOTEL UNLESS YOU DON’T NEED RUNNING WATER. I would have liked to post a glowing review of this hotel because it is aesthetically very cute! The location is pretty good. Right on the edge of Casco Viejo in walking distance to everything. Shops, restaurants, etc.|However, when I checked in with a group I was leading (we had 5 rooms in all) we were told the hot water wouldn’t be working for a couple of hours. Actually, at that time, the water was not working at all. My group left for a short tour and came back a few hours later. Sadly, at this time we needed to get showered and ready to go to a dinner reservation, the water was still not working! No running water, not even flushing toilets. We had to forego showers and just head upstairs to the rooftop restaurant. The restaurant bathroom also had no working water while we were up there which made us concerned about the cleanliness of the Kitchen staff.|The hotel employee basically ignored us and never gave us any information, not even his name. I had the contact of another employee who I texted with some. She was very nice and tried to help, but she was at home and there was really nothing she could do.|To make matters worse, two people in our group were sharing a room with a queen bed, but that room had such a bad leak in the ceiling that it was sagging and had visible mold. The staff switched them to another room, but that room had a very small bed for two people to share and also had a leak that dripped down right onto the bed so they woke up with a wet blanket.|Upon check out the employee on staff said she spoke to the manager who told her that if we contacted Expedia she would approve a refund. But, when we contacted Expedia we were told that due to having paid the hotel directly there was nothing they could do for us, and when we then went back to the manager they refused a refund. The hotel manager then texted me claiming that they had immediately fixed all the problems. This manager was very rude, refused to give their name and just flat out lied to me.|There are so many other cute places to stay in the area. Please heed my advice and go elsewhere. This place is not worth it.|Photos are of the moldy ceiling.

Great location, but very loud. The (metal) ceiling was covered in (condensation) droplets. They covered the bed with plastic! The pillows, sheets, everything smelled musty.Shower wasn’t cleaned, long black hairs on the floor. It’s trendy, but not hygienic, nor healthy to sleep.

Read the reviews! I wish I had. It has a discoteca on the roof and no insulation for the noise. You won't sleep if you stay here and the bar staff are very rude.

Stayed at Casa Panama. They hosted a loud on-site party (we were told it was a staff party) and still rented rooms anyway, with no warning. That’s the real issue. It was a Sunday. They were free to party. What they shouldn’t have done was take our money for a room they knew wouldn’t be usable. When we calmly asked what was going on, staff were rude and aggressive, like we were idiots for expecting basic respect after paying. Nice-looking place, small rooms — none of that matters when a hotel knowingly sells rooms it shouldn’t and then treats guests badly. If you don’t want to get screwed after you’ve paid, do not stay here.
