A Gem in the Heart of Venice My stay at Casa Petrarca was absolutely wonderful, and I can't recommend it enough. From the moment we arrived, the hostess, Valentina, made me feel completely at home. Left a little message for our late arrival and helpful guides for our following day. She was incredibly hospitable, warm, and helpful, offering great advice on how to explore the city. It's truly hosts like her that make a trip special. The location is perfect—it's right in the center of Venice, making it easy to walk everywhere. I'll admit I was a bit worried about the shared bathroom situation, but my concerns were completely unfounded. Because there are only a few rooms, the shared loo was always available whenever I needed it. I actually never even saw the other guests! While the rooms are on the smaller side, they are clean, comfortable, and charming. The breakfast, though simple, was delicious and a great way to start the day before heading out to see the sights. If you're looking for an authentic Venetian experience with a fantastic hostess, this is the place to stay. You'll feel like you've found a secret hideaway in the middle of a bustling city. I had a great time staying here, and I can't wait to go Venice again!

Super nice well located hotel in the San Marco area. Yes, it is somewhat pricey as some reviews stated but so are most decent accommodations in the heart of Venice. Everything worked, impeccably clean and with an excellent breakfast. Valentina went out of her way to make us enjoy our first trip to Venice.

Comfy bed, good working AC, lovely shower. Fantastic location in the heart of Venice. The owner is amazing and made us feel at home! A special thank you to Sole the miniature Dachshund for our morning greetings at breakfast!

Rooms are tiny. For the price they charge it’s almost unfair to charge such an exuberant amount for a room that can’t even let you walk without jumping into things.location is great but tiny room ruined it. It’s definitely not a hotel. Calling it an inn is rather fair. Hostess was very kind and her caring demeanour showed her keenness to please us as her guests. This should be a $100 room not the price I paid. I paid way too high.

We were surprised of all the good reviews, and that’s why we had chosen this spot, but this was not a good stay for us and we’ve travelled a lot. The place is very disappointing, its sells itself as a hotel, while it’s more like a AirBnB than a hotel, and I would say even hostel. Room is small, felt like a prison, no circulation of air, mattress is not comfy. Bathroom was shared, and shower is so small you can’t shower without turning the water boilling hot or off, and I’m fairly small. Breakfast, which is litterally bread, was not included, and cost 15€ - had we known we would not have taken seat. We wanted eggs, but were told at 8:30 that there were no more eggs (breakfast starts at 8:00, we arrived at 8:15). The other tables jumped on the eggs when they came, and left none for us. We were scolded that we should have booked directly through them, they could not reach us because it was a 3rd party, but it’s not our responsibility to know where to book, they should know where their customers come from. We booked on booking.com like 100% of our travels. Respectfully, would not stay here again nor recommend this place.

Had a very pleasant 2 night stay during carnival week. The place is conveniently located, very short walk from no 2 boat stop. Valentina is super nice and friendly and made me feel like at home. The room was clean and had complementary water; mini fridge cools down well. The amenity provided a simple breakfast like boiled eggs, toasts coffee and pastry, which was just enough to start a morning. I would highly recommend that place and would definitely come back.

We cannot recommend Hotel Casa Petrarca enough! From the moment we arrived, the service was impeccable, but the host’s dedication truly stood out on our departure day. Valentina went above and beyond, personally walking us to the water taxi and ensuring we got on in time to catch our flight, as there had been an issue contacting our original pre booked water taxi company. This level of care and attention is something we’ve never experienced before and made our trip even more special.||The hotel’s location is ideal—right in the heart of Venice, making it incredibly convenient to explore all the major sights. The room size was perfect, offering a little seating area to relax after a day exploring. The beds were very comfortable.||We will definitely be returning on our next trip to Venice!

We had a lovely stay at Locanda Casa Petrarca. The location is perfect! right in the heart of Venice, easy to get to everywhere. The room was very warm, cozy and extremely clean. The breakfast is good and they are very friendly, they gave us many recommendations about art galleries and the best exhibitions. On the last day of our stay, they kindly kept our luggage for us while we enjoyed the last cicchetti and spritz in town, the day was very rainy and when we returned to collect our things, they VERY kindly let us use the bathroom to change our wet clothes, That was extremely kind of them. THANK YOU!! we travel to Venice every year and we will always stay at your lovely hotel.

Yelp
We stayed here based on some reviews on hotels.com saying it was near St Mark's square and not too expensive. We had booked a regular room at first, but realized later that it shared a bathroom and wanted to switch a day later. At that point, the front desk said the only room still available was the supreme deluxe (most expensive) room, and we had paid a nonrefundable deposit already...so unless we wanted to lose it, we could either stay in our room or upgrade. We chose to upgrade, making this the most expensive place we stayed on our whole Europe tour. When we arrived, they demanded the extra cost of the room in cash because their credit card machine was "broken" (it stayed that way for our whole visit). The man in charge of the hotel was extremely patronizing and unhelpful in his attitude, leading us to ask as few questions as possible. This was NOT our experience with other hotels in Italy, where the front desk always had a smile and went out of their way to recommend local attractions. The room did have a nice view of one canal, but the windows faced a busy pedestrian walkway and people could see right into our room out of 2 of 3 windows. It was a 5-7 min walk from St Marks square, which was the one excellent thing about this hotel. The bathroom was miniscule and not well appointed with minimal toiletries. The daily breakfast was decent, but service was slow. We would wait a very long time to get refills of coffee, and often left early because the breakfast room was so small and crowded with guests knee-to-knee at adjacent tables. Go here if you don't mind sharing a bathroom (the separate one is tiny and way overpriced), don't mind strangers right outside your window, but want to be close to the action.
