Stopped here after our hike to get a cold beer. We had 2 lovely beers for six euro. Had 2 more with tapas for eighty cents extra. Lovely.

Comfortable, clean room in a central location, ideas for exploring the town during our short stay, Typical locals bar and restaurant below offering wholesome food and drink at sensible prices, The staff were most Friendly and efficient,

We a menu del dia here. The food was reasonably tasty but the service was terrible. The waiter said he didn't speak English which was ok but he made no attempt to even show us the menu options on a menu. He just kept repeating them very quickly in Spanish. He was extremely impatient. The food was served very quickly and we hadn't finished eating and he was trying to remove our plates. We were still drinking our wine when he presented us with the check. We let the check sit on the table while we finished our wine. He came back and glared at us, turned his back and in perfect English said we need that table. For reference we were in the restaurant for 45 minutes so we weren't there for an excessive amount of time. This was a very unpleasant experience.

Great location with a good traditional restaurant and bar area. Rooms a little dated but clean and serviceable.

This is a phrase I generally abhor but I felt obliged to use it to persuade all those who come to the Costa and never venture further to give it a try. Because if you do (and we do, often] you'll be rewarded with amazing experiences. Show passion and interest in the food and drink you are served and you'll be treated like locals.||Our latest such adventure was on the Wednesday in Easter week. With processions in the town and bars and restaurants heaving and no restaurant in our hotel we wondered where we should eat. Learning from our experience the night before in Carmona we thought “if there's no restaurant in our hotel then find a hotel that does have one”. ||And it worked. Arriving at the hotel Castilla we peered in and could see that beyond the busy bar at the front there was a restaurant area with some unoccupied tables. We pushed through and were warmly greeted within enough English to compensate for our execrable Spanish. A fabulous meal ensued. What you might call hearty fare but all beautifully cooked. The five media racions we ordered were phased rather than all arriving at one go as is often the case. The prawns pil pil were particularly good. We had two glasses of white, a bottle of very good Ribera at a ridiculous price of €13 (and two more glasses of that at the end).||The place was busy and bustling but the service was impeccable and here's the thing - it was also warm and engaging. We were the only non-locals and clearly passing through but we received the attention you'd expect if you were there every night. Hopefully our enthusiasm and delight at what was being served up was the reason. It just goes to show that these sorts of old-style good value places still exist. I checked the bill three times as I thought they had missed something. Just €53. Brilliant!

I came here to eat at their restaurant so my comment will solely based on the food. I love this little restaurant. It has a traditional feel and the waiter and waitress were nice and friendly although they speak little English. I try my best to speak in my limited Spanish and we both understood each other 😊 The food here was great and reasonably priced. The menu del dia (menu of the day) is substantial and could give you a days meal. Very generous portion. I also ordered a la carte menu on my second visit and the media is more than enough. A full portion probably feeds 2 people! The chocolate mouse was light and nice. Abondigas came with chips (tapas) and it was generous in portion and cheap! I've tried the sopa del dia... Egg, chicken and ham soup. My favourite was the salad - pepper with tuna. 🥰🥰🥰 Feed me that everyday and I'd be happy. Overall, It was nice!!! I cannot fault anything here. Good food, delicious, reasonably priced and substantial! Hence, two visits! 😅
