Catalonia Berlin Mitte (Berlin, Germany) 19 Verified Reviews | Tablet Hotels

"The Catalonia Berlin Mitte is, if you’ll excuse the analogy, the opposite of a mullet: party in the front, business in the back. Only in Berlin would you find this particular mix, with edgy industrial-chic public spaces, graffiti-strewn corridors (painted by some of Berlin’s best-known street artists), and… rooms that are nothing if not restrained, sedate, valuing practicality above all else." - Tablet Hotels

A really nice stay. The staff was really kind and attentive. My room was spacious and well furnished. The bathroom could be better and some installations be renovated though. :) The location is perfect and the neighborhood is really calm despite being close to the nightclubs.

A very clean and well equipped hotel with friendly staff and a great breakfast. Away from the hustle of the main city centre and tourist attractions but so easy to access via the local stations or on foot. Great decor with a nod to Berlin heritage in the art work throughout. Comfortable beds, great shower and very quiet rooms. All of our party loved it. We’ll definitely return.

Firstly lovely hotel. Great staff. Very good connectivity for visiting the city. Tube very convenient and we managed to go and see everything we had planned. Our room very large and roomy. Bed comfortable. Spotlessly clean. Shower great. Fantastic breakfast selection. Staff endlessly polite|But. Room was very hot! (Apparently air con not yet turned on). Opened window and it was very noisy. Even with windows closed it was noisy b. Tv kept turning itself off and although we reported it to reception it didn’t appear to have been looked at |Would we stay here again. Yes! But we’d ask for a room away from the main road. And we are happy to recommend

Nice place near the heart of Berlin. The bed was soft and comfortable. There were black out curtains to help me sleep longer during the long summer days of light. The breakfast was tasty and included lots of choices. My only complaint was the scrambled eggs were cold. But if I would have noticed the omelette station sooner that would have been a better option. I recommend this place.

Stayed here for a week with my family for my 60th. What a friendly and chilled hotel. The staff were lovely polite and respectful and nothing was too much trouble for them. I would like to say a big THANKS to Yure who was such a lovely lady and loved my grandson Felix . Also to the bar staff Minder and Selina who were always happy and had time for a quick chat. Thank you guys it made my birthday week memorable and I would definitely come back . Also the rooms were spotless and cleaned every day.

Very good drinks, very friendly staff. Sonia great bartender but not good at cricket. Minder good fast bowler. My mate aedan would hit Sonia for 6 runs, but wouldn’t have a chance against Minder.

Lovely clean hotel|When we arrived we got our key but the room was still not ready. |Was given another room, which from what we saw was nicer. |Lovely big room comfy bed. Great pillows. |Big bathroom and plenty of toiletries to use. |Only thing that wasn’t great was the air on didn’t seem to be kicking out cold air. |We did the old fashioned thing and opened. The windows. |A bit noisy as on a Main Street. |Tune o er the road. |Couple supermarkets close by. Great croissant for breakfast in the one kind of opposite. |Easiest route from the airport was to get the train then the U train to Jannowitzbrücke then walk o er the bridge and then turn right and next to the “underwear” shop (leather and straps) is the entrance to the courtyard. |We walked past at first. |Great base for a stay

Reena and Alessandro welcomed everyone so warmly, my friends were more than happy to visit the beautiful and well kept hotel after my delightful visit, the reception is always helpful and filled with smiles even in the late and early hours. Definitely recommendable!

Yelp
This like most large chain hotels where service was friendly but not very personable. That said the space is very nice with large sitting area and free Wi-Fi for lounging and a bar for drinks if it wasn't mobbed by convention groups. On the dates we were they hosted two large conferences, so the lobby was full of banners and people. Luckily, we just had breakfast and left for the day. The breakfast more than enough. And assorted array of pastries (unless it was convention full of French people, in which then it was like the hunger games for croissants and people wearing bathrobes to the breakfast area), fruits, freshly made omelets etc. I'm not sure what reviewers are complaining about as it is certainly more than what I make at home. These people must apparently have time to make a banquet in the morning. I found the room adequate if not a bit sparse. The beds were comfortable. The bathroom had the usual expected toiletries, but our shower leaked like a sieve. It is in an interesting neighborhood. There is a good German restaurant and beer garden nearby which we stopped by in the evenings. Transport there is a u-bahn across the street or good walk to two others. Overall, the hotel was nice. We did have a pleasant stay and even better when no convention groups towards the end of our visit.

Yelp
Catalonia Mitte was a nice, clean, and comfortable hotel. The bed was very comfy and the bathroom was spacious. The room was definitely on the smaller side, but it didn't bother us too much. You have to leave a deposit at the front desk if you want electric outfit converters (if your electronics are from outside of the EU). Room only had heat at the time, but we were able to open the windows and get a nice breeze going. My only fault with this hotel was the courtyard. It got quite rowdy at night (I'm talking late into the night at 3am) and it made it difficult to sleep as our room faced the courtyard. There's a bit of nightlife around here. A very popular club around the corner, lots of corner stores with snacks and helpful shopkeepers. Alexander Platz is about a 20 minute walk away. There's someone at the front desk of the hotel 24/7, so if you need anything, help is just a short walk or call away.

Yelp
ROOMS SMELL TERRIBLE. ROOMS SMELL TERRIBLE. ROOMS SMELL TERRIBLE. LIKE ROTTEN, HUMID MILDEW, WET MOLD. DISGUSTING. was offered two different rooms after arriving sleep deprived from my flight, the second one smelling WORSE than the first. At that point I needed to cancel and find a different place, even though I was offered a third room, I was done. although I booked a last minute booking on hotel tonight, which offers no refunds, the concierge woman told me although the manager wasn't in, that i would for sure be getting a refund the next day. the hotel did NOT oblige and wasn't gracious enough to even give me a partial credit. this is a disrespectful way to treat customers. clean up your act, the place smells TERRIBLE

Yelp
I stayed two nights at Catalonia Mitte following a conference in October when I was keen to explore the city over the weekend. The hotel is in a great location as it is situated between two U-Bahn lines making it a handy base to explore Berlin. My bill came to 175 Euros which I felt was reasonable for a central Berlin hotel. The staff were friendly and helpful as I had to leave for the airport very early on the Sunday morning. The best part of the hotel was the lobby and bar area which had a nice relaxing vibe. I was slightly disappointed by my room as it was very small in comparison to the huge bathroom. I looked at the floor plan contained on the fire escape which showed that my room was the smallest on the floor, so that wont be a problem for every guest.

Yelp
I have already stayed in Berlin at the I.31 hotel which was fantastic, so I on my second trip I wanted somewhere equally as nice with a great location. The Catalonia Mitte is a very nice hotel, the reception is nice and big and has a very relaxing feel. The staff are friendly, and welcoming. The room I received however was a little small however but not a huge issue. The room was very nice but not as nice as the I.31 hotel. The locations was very good, close the metro, a park with a real live bear is around the corner and just behind the hotel is the river with a station point for the river boat tour, so overall the locations is very good. There is also free street parking next to the hotel. The hotel was a little quite, could have done with some more people, guests, etc especially in the bar area. The breakfast look, expensive at 16euro each, however I always prefer to eat out, I recommend Chipps restaurant for a great breakfast about &min drive away. Overall thoroughly pleased.
