Catalonia Berlin Mitte (Berlin, Germany) 19 Verified Reviews | Tablet Hotels

"The Catalonia Berlin Mitte is, if you’ll excuse the analogy, the opposite of a mullet: party in the front, business in the back. Only in Berlin would you find this particular mix, with edgy industrial-chic public spaces, graffiti-strewn corridors (painted by some of Berlin’s best-known street artists), and… rooms that are nothing if not restrained, sedate, valuing practicality above all else." - Tablet Hotels

Visited for 5 day's for a birthday treat for my hubby. Hotel really lovely modern and spotlessly clean. Staff really helpful and friendly Ana on reception helped us navigate Berlin giving us a map and pointing out where we were to all the famous landmarks so thank you Ana. Booked bed and breakfast so worth doing as breakfast was amazing 👏 such a wonderful selection and everything and more you could want. We filled up with lots of lovely goodies including a beautiful omelette along with fresh pancakes cooked to order.||Our room was really spacious and quality bedding and towels replaced daily this was kept spotless so thanks to house keeping department also. I contacted the hotel about travelling from the airport and they responded quickly with great information. It's really easy to get to and a short walk from the station to the hotel. This hotel is modern and smells delicious, the man who hoovered the reception and bar area must have something in his hoover to create such a gorgeous smell 😍 ||We spent 5 days here and were very impressed by the quality and standards offered by the hotel and its team of amazing people who deliver the highest standards of service to all their guests. It's definitely worth a visit if you come to Berlin. Around a 15/20 minute walk to main centre and attractions so super convenient to stay at this quality hotel. Hotel bar is very reasonable and a couple of beers costing around 10 euros is great value. This hotel is quirky and modern and is finished to a high standard. They left a gorgeous chunk of chocolate cake in our room to wish hubby a happy birthday, little touches mean a lot. ||All in all a lovely hotel with lovely staff so thank you so much for our lovely stay xxx

Stayed here for 5 days a birthday trip for my hubby. The hotel was amazing from start to finish our room was gorgeous and the quality of bedding and towels were lovely. Bathroom facilities superb and loved the shower gel and hand wash. Room serviced daily and all towels replaced kept wonderfully clean, so thank you to the house keeping team. Ana on reception provided us with a fabulous map and marked out how to navigate Berlins top spots, thank you Ana. We had breakfast with our room just one word WOW everything was so fresh each day and a lovely young lady cooked fresh omlettes and pan cakes to order these were delicious 😋 everything about this hotel was simply amazing. The decor is quirky and modern the hotel was very warm, a bit too warm at times. The breakfast selection was vast and all the pastries, fresh bread and rolls were fantastic they even bake fresh cookies and cakes daily, again these are amazing I loved the peanut and white chocolate and cranberry cookies but all were delicious 😋 Communication with the hotel was excellent I'd emailed a couple of times prior to our stay asking about the trains from the airport and they responded in plenty of time. My hubby was also treated to a delicious slab of chocolate cake with a message left in our room for his birthday such a thoughtful touch again thank you Ana as she checked us in. We arrived 3 hours before check in and would have been happy to leave our luggage but our room was ready so another bonus 😀. The hotel bar is very reasonable and Sonia smiled everytime when serving us delicious beers 🍻 the staff all seem really happy to work there and the gentleman cleaning the reception area must have some sort of air freshener in his hoover as the hotel smelt lovely 😍. We really enjoyed our stay and will look into the hotel chains other hotels as we'd love to stay again within the chain. Thank you all so much for our fantastic stay. Tania and Steve xxx

We had a lovely stay at hotel Catalonia! The staff was very helpful and professional and the breakfast was delicious. We had some temperature issues in our first room (it was very warm) and the staff was lovely and provided us with a new, cooler room. The rooms were also very clean and stylish. Would definitely recommend!

I stayed here for the Berlin marathon. This hotel was great! It was close to the trains. The hotel offers breakfast, which was worth it. I was able to run outside, but the gym was available in case I needed it. As for the rooms, they were spacious and the walls were not thin (that is important when trying to get good sleep)! The hotel was clean and the service was exceptional. I felt safe here. In order to enter the entry courtyard during the night, you need a key to enter.

The only reason for this review which I hope his management takes seriously is for the bartender Minder which I cannot speak more of. He is not only a fantastic bartender, incredibly polite even under the strain of a busy bar but also an exceptional good salesman when promoting the business in which he is employed. I truly feel he would be an ambassador for this brand and highly suggest his promotion to much more.

The hotel is really cool. We were a couple and it was a lot of fun. The rooms are clean, everything you need was in the room. Paid mini bar, huge windows. The hotel is centrally located and close to public transportation. The hotel staff is caring and professional. Thank you very much

Great location, within a short Uber ride to all the main attractions. Staff so friendly and reception very helpful. Big clean rooms with nice bathrooms. The breakfast is excellent with good choice from the buffet and fresh pancakes and omelettes. The zoo and aquarium were a great day out too.

Yelp
This like most large chain hotels where service was friendly but not very personable. That said the space is very nice with large sitting area and free Wi-Fi for lounging and a bar for drinks if it wasn't mobbed by convention groups. On the dates we were they hosted two large conferences, so the lobby was full of banners and people. Luckily, we just had breakfast and left for the day. The breakfast more than enough. And assorted array of pastries (unless it was convention full of French people, in which then it was like the hunger games for croissants and people wearing bathrobes to the breakfast area), fruits, freshly made omelets etc. I'm not sure what reviewers are complaining about as it is certainly more than what I make at home. These people must apparently have time to make a banquet in the morning. I found the room adequate if not a bit sparse. The beds were comfortable. The bathroom had the usual expected toiletries, but our shower leaked like a sieve. It is in an interesting neighborhood. There is a good German restaurant and beer garden nearby which we stopped by in the evenings. Transport there is a u-bahn across the street or good walk to two others. Overall, the hotel was nice. We did have a pleasant stay and even better when no convention groups towards the end of our visit.

Yelp
Catalonia Mitte was a nice, clean, and comfortable hotel. The bed was very comfy and the bathroom was spacious. The room was definitely on the smaller side, but it didn't bother us too much. You have to leave a deposit at the front desk if you want electric outfit converters (if your electronics are from outside of the EU). Room only had heat at the time, but we were able to open the windows and get a nice breeze going. My only fault with this hotel was the courtyard. It got quite rowdy at night (I'm talking late into the night at 3am) and it made it difficult to sleep as our room faced the courtyard. There's a bit of nightlife around here. A very popular club around the corner, lots of corner stores with snacks and helpful shopkeepers. Alexander Platz is about a 20 minute walk away. There's someone at the front desk of the hotel 24/7, so if you need anything, help is just a short walk or call away.

Yelp
ROOMS SMELL TERRIBLE. ROOMS SMELL TERRIBLE. ROOMS SMELL TERRIBLE. LIKE ROTTEN, HUMID MILDEW, WET MOLD. DISGUSTING. was offered two different rooms after arriving sleep deprived from my flight, the second one smelling WORSE than the first. At that point I needed to cancel and find a different place, even though I was offered a third room, I was done. although I booked a last minute booking on hotel tonight, which offers no refunds, the concierge woman told me although the manager wasn't in, that i would for sure be getting a refund the next day. the hotel did NOT oblige and wasn't gracious enough to even give me a partial credit. this is a disrespectful way to treat customers. clean up your act, the place smells TERRIBLE

Yelp
I stayed two nights at Catalonia Mitte following a conference in October when I was keen to explore the city over the weekend. The hotel is in a great location as it is situated between two U-Bahn lines making it a handy base to explore Berlin. My bill came to 175 Euros which I felt was reasonable for a central Berlin hotel. The staff were friendly and helpful as I had to leave for the airport very early on the Sunday morning. The best part of the hotel was the lobby and bar area which had a nice relaxing vibe. I was slightly disappointed by my room as it was very small in comparison to the huge bathroom. I looked at the floor plan contained on the fire escape which showed that my room was the smallest on the floor, so that wont be a problem for every guest.

Yelp
I have already stayed in Berlin at the I.31 hotel which was fantastic, so I on my second trip I wanted somewhere equally as nice with a great location. The Catalonia Mitte is a very nice hotel, the reception is nice and big and has a very relaxing feel. The staff are friendly, and welcoming. The room I received however was a little small however but not a huge issue. The room was very nice but not as nice as the I.31 hotel. The locations was very good, close the metro, a park with a real live bear is around the corner and just behind the hotel is the river with a station point for the river boat tour, so overall the locations is very good. There is also free street parking next to the hotel. The hotel was a little quite, could have done with some more people, guests, etc especially in the bar area. The breakfast look, expensive at 16euro each, however I always prefer to eat out, I recommend Chipps restaurant for a great breakfast about &min drive away. Overall thoroughly pleased.
