Where to Stay in Madrid (Updated 2025)

"The most affordable hotel in upscale Salamanca, it’s on the small side but rooms are clean and stylish with safes, Wi‑Fi and flatscreen TVs, and the hotel offers a pretty nice breakfast spread." - Matthew Kepnes

The 7 Best Hotels in Madrid (Updated 2025)

"Set in a 19th-century building right on Calle de Goya, this four-star hotel manages to feel tranquil inside despite being on one of the city’s most exclusive shopping streets. I enjoyed the plunge pool, fitness center, and soundproofed rooms, and the breakfast spread is satisfying with fresh bread, pastries, cold cuts, fruit, made‑to‑order eggs and pancakes, plus a machine for freshly squeezed orange juice. The sizable rooms are clean and stylish with contemporary design and parquet floors, and include a desk, smart TV with Chromecast, minibar, coffee maker, and safe; the spacious bathrooms have hairdryers and large showers with good water pressure. It’s walking distance to many attractions and sits next to a metro station, and I think the value is phenomenal." - Matthew Kepnes

This hotel was great! The staff were very helpful and friendly, the rooms were modern and clean, and the location is right in the middle of all the action. We had a 6 month old baby, and I only wish they had a better crib for her. The crib provided was a pack and play one, low to the ground, and not the best. Even still, I still highly recommend this hotel!

We had a great time at Catalonia Goya. The hotel is super well decorated and updated. No carpets, very modern. The breakfast, which was included in our stay, was delicious! A very nice and complete buffet, super worth it. The location is perfect, you can walk around, go to restaurants and get the subway if you need to go farther. And last, but not least, the staff: super attentive, super polite and very very nice and warm. They go above and beyond to help and make you feel welcome.

Great hotel in the middle of the action. Great neighborhoods all around with bars, coffee shops, restaurants and shopping. Beautiful church across the street. Metro station right there. Pool and a nice hotel bar. Beautiful massive park a few blocks away. Cheers!

We really enjoyed our stay at this hotel! The room was clean and big and we slept very well during the night. Then, Salamanca area seems very safe if compared with other places of the city. If we decide to visit Madrid again in the future, we will book this hotel for sure.

Comfortable hotel in the heart of the trendy Salamanca district. The room (I was alone and on business) was comfortable although it didn't have an iron available. Good shower. I had a room overlooking the back, so it was quiet enough to be able to open the windows. Good location for lots of bars, restaurants and shops.

This is a great hotel in a fantastic location to explore Madrid. For anyone considering visiting Madrid for their first time and looking for a good place to stay which is well located to the city centre buy also quiet and comfortable then this is the place to stay. We had a room for 3 people on the 4th floor, the room was modern and very clean & at night it was totally silent so we slept well. There is a bar downstairs which has a small menu but the food quality is very good. All the staff are very friendly and the front desk speak perfect English which makes check in & out very easy. There is also a metro station directly outside which can get you to other parts of the city very easily. I would be more than happy to stay hear again in the future. Thanks for having us.

Very well located and very quiet rooms despite being on a very busy street. Pleasant bedrooms and very good bathroom with an excellent t walk-in shower giving great water pressure. Parquet floor throughout which I prefer for hygienic reasons. Only criticism is that there is only hanging for clothes and no cupboard/ shelves.
