I visited the lobby with three tourists to check the archaeological site and have a drink and some snacks. I fully understand the need to screen visitors entering the hotel for security purposes, as it is private property. I acknowledge that I did not stop immediately when I was first asked about the purpose of my visit, and I accept that this may have been perceived as rude. I was then asked to register. During this process, the attendant told me that my behavior was unacceptable. I apologized if my actions had been interpreted as disrespectful. However, despite my apology, my group was denied entry. I chose not to escalate the situation, so I thanked the attendant and left with my group. Following this incident, I attempted to file a complaint by phone. One of the staff members involved, Mr. José Ramírez, who identified himself as the manager, hung up on me during the call. This behavior is highly concerning. I understand and respect the need for strict security protocols. However, even with discipline, cooperation, and a demeanor that—according to both myself and my group—was not disrespectful, we were still denied entry, despite our clear intention to consume food and beverages on the premises. I find this treatment unacceptable and believe it warrants a formal review. I kindly request that this incident be investigated and that appropriate measures be taken to ensure that guests and potential customers are treated with professionalism and respect.

Lovely hotel. Staff are great. Location superb being at the back of the Cathedral. Amazing views from the hotel balcony and rooftop bar. Complimentary water, coffee crisps and nuts in the lobby and soft drinks in the mini-bar. It's the little things that make the difference. Breakfast was superb. Good choice of good quality food. Cooked options to order. Dinner in the hotel was also good with good priced wine. Room was new/newly refurbished and done to a high standard. We slept very well. I would return without hesitation.

The Hotel is located in the heart of the Historic Center walking distance to all sites of interest in the area.|Staff very helpful and friendly.|Breakfast buffet was awesome and we loved the snacks available at the reception area.|We were there during some remodeling so a bit dusty. The elevators are real slow and the water pressure in the rooms very low. Therefore the 4 stars.|Would recommend this place for a stay in the Centro Historico.

Excellent choice if you're traveling to Mexico City! There are 2 sides of this hotel: Torre Catedral and Torre Pirámide. Choose the one facing the Cathedral and you'll have a great view with super modern rooms, balcony and rooftop bar. Breakfast is also awesome and varied and the staff is lovely! Many thanks to Ana Velasquez, Carlos Huerta and Verónica Coahuila. You guys helped us with every request we had and we really appreciate it! I don't think we'll ever stay anywhere else when we visit Mexico City.

Excellent location. Super close to the constitution plaza. Room was spacious and clean. Hotel staffs were friendly and helpful. The view was amazing as the cathedral is right next to the hotel! I highly recommended!

Google
Highly recommended. Staff is great, food is amazing. We asked the hotel to refer a driver to drive us around and show us the city, they recommended Rogelio Perez, amazing guy became a family member, he made sure that we were safe, that we enjoyed ourselves, he referred great guides in different places and great restaurants. He is punctual and will keep communicating via WhatsApp. He took a selfie with us, posted on the bottom. Make sure they refer you to him, you won’t regret it!

An unforgettable experience. The hotel exceeded all my expectations: spotless facilities, warm and professional service in every detail, and outstanding cuisine. Its location, just steps away from the cathedral, makes exploring the city even more convenient. From arrival to departure I truly felt cared for. Without a doubt, a place I would love to return to.

I stayed at Hotel Catedral with a couple of friends in September, and honestly, the experience was amazing! It is such a beautiful hotel, and everything exceeded my expectations. The rooms were spotless, the breakfast was delicious, and the overall atmosphere just made us feel right at home. Everyone was so kind and welcoming, it really made the whole stay special. I’d definitely recommend it to anyone visiting the area! It has such a beautiful view of the center and heart of Mexico City, I will definitely be coming back!

Yelp
Very nice experience at Hotel Catedral. We had a room with 3 beds which was plenty large for a large family, the room was up to date, A/C worked great, WiFi was free and acceptable speeds, buffet was decent and the buffet waitresses were very attentive. Free bottled water and tea service during the morning and evening. Housekeeping was excellent. Glad to have made this hotel our home away from home during our trip to the Historic District in Mexico City. Met and exceeded all expectations

Yelp
Spent two nights here. The room was clean and spacious. Complimentary water in lobby is a huge plus. Centrally located. Surrounding area is mixed. I stayed next to hotel for my morning walks. Staff is very friendly and helpful. Went on a great tour recommended by the concierge. We also had a few meals at the hotel restaurant which was quite good. Breakfast buffet was fantastic! You can also order additional food not at buffet. If you need a place to stay in the downtown area, I would recommend Hotel Catedral

Yelp
Beautiful, clean and great spaces. The breakfast and coffee station was really great. The location is good and I would stay here again!

Yelp
I wish I could give a better review. The hotel is very central near the cathedral. The decor is nice and the staff is attentive. The low rating is solely because the rooms are freezing. When it got down to 56F-13 C it would wake us up. On 2 nights, we called down to the front desk and they were no help. The second night they offered to bring blankets but nobody came. So maybe don't stay in the winter.

Yelp
Bad service. Don't recommend it. Service people don't care what you say and they run out of towels often.

Yelp
Centrally located in the historic district which is so great. It's clean and decent especially compared to our stay in Tepotzlan. Good shower and bidet. After a pretty fabulous buffet breakfast - You can just step out onto cobblestone streets and the quiet bustle of morning commerce getting started. All trains are close by. Shopping is close and lots of main attractions are right at your doorstep. I thought the pillows were too thick, the beds are a little small-if you don't know how to reserve a proper room for a family of 4 you end up in a full sized bed with your large hubby. And your teenagers are sleeping next to you. Ugh! That might have been our mistake. Thelma is the head chef and she made our every morning delightful. Thanks.

Yelp
Very nice people. Two elevators. Very basic, very clean. Above a reliquaries shops mall. And a street full of educational supplies shops. And all you can eat fresh guavas and homemade potato chips!

Yelp
Excellent excellent stay here. We relocated here after a terrible experience with our Airbnb host, and wow what an upgrade we had! My advice is always book a hotel instead of an Airbnb when traveling in Mexico, it's about the same price but the standard of a hotel is much much better. Hotel Catedral provides its guests with excellent service, from complimentary snacks and waters (which was a godsend and saved us so much money in the long run) to kind and hospitable staff. The rooms are spacious and clean and the location is impeccable. The zocalo is basically your backyard, and you will be steps away from templo mayor. The hotel breakfast is also surprisingly very very good, but if you opt out of it just know you are in good hands with several other great restaurants only down the street. Highly highly recommend this hotel!

Yelp
It's an ok hotel. There were a few glaring problems, but I'll save that review for booking.com. I can say that the bell boys (men) and the breakfast staff, especially the main cook, were very friendly and helpful. The location is great if you want to stay in the center (note that it's chaotic!). I loved the free bottled water in the lobby, it was hot while we were there.

Yelp
My first time in Mexico city and I stayed at Hotel Catedral, from the beginning it has been an amazing place to stay. Very modern in the heart of the city, close to the museum Templo Mayor and metro. Full of activities and some speak very good English (I speak broken Spanish- if you will, lol). Definitely recommend staying here and little tip of the day remember to get the breakfast buffet added for a small fee, it's delightful and authentic Mexican cuisine!

Yelp
I stayed at this hotel for one night and I was pleasantly surprised. The location was very convenient to the Zocalo and Palacio de Bellas Artes, among other important places to see. The cost was excellent, The staff was very courteous. I absolutely loved their hospitality. They had unlimited guayabas, my favorite fruit, in the lobby as well as bottled water. All free of charge for their guests! They had peanuts, coffee , and freshly made cookies, at different times of the day. The upper floor had a terraza, which was open for fresh air and had seating arrangements for hanging out, for guests. Don't look any further. This is a great hotel for an inexpensive price. I also hired a Taxi Driver named BRUNO. BRUNO can be contacted for a daily price. I paid about $75 for 9-10 hours of touring Mexico City. This was much more effective than taking the subway , because I saved tons of time. I had him take me to his favorite local spots to eat and was able to enjoy many parts of Mexico City. For a great opportunity to see a complete list of your favorite places, contact BRUNO at 5512575086 and leave him a message, stating that Lorena Squared referred him. You won't regret it!

Yelp
Booked 5 nights at Hotel Catedral for our boys U17 soccer team from California.10 rooms. Great hotel. Great service, and great location to experience Mexico's history. Friendly customer service. In particular Luis, the bell boy, and Jessica with front desk and reservations. The included breakfast was excellent, cooked to order.

Yelp
Awesome hotel that's walking distance from el cento they have very helpful and attentive employees they go far and beyond to make your experience there pleasant. The food was great and their buffet in the morning was delicious. The rooms and hotel were clean and offer guava fruit, chips and water in the lobby for you to snack on while you wait. I recommend this hotel to anyone looking a an awesome place to stay.

Yelp
Location is safe and convenient. The room was clean and comfortable and the service was good: all the people I met, from the receptionist to the room cleaning lady to the people serving breakfast, were all very warm and welcoming.

Yelp
We enjoyed our stay at Hotel Catedral. The service was great amount all of the staff members. The added breakfast was delicious and full of options for all open from 7:30-11:30 each day. Our room was small but plenty enough room for us and our three kids. Our little one who is two slept on the floor with extra blankets and she did just fine. The area is noisy but to be expected as we are in the heart of the Zócalo. Expect late night parties and music around the area. If you close your window it does block most of the sound. We loved being so close to being able to walk to so many things. Madero street is filled with life all the time, Bellas Artes is about a half a mile away. Temple mayor is right next door. We also enjoyed watching the flag Ceremony in the mornings, by walking just down the street. The restaurant here is also nice and a good option. We saved time (and space in our luggage( by getting laundry done here. It was not super cheap but they did a great job and it was done on the same day. If you are looking to be in the heart of the Zócalo this is a great option for a young family or really anyone.

Yelp
Hotel Catedral is located in a convenient location. We stayed two nights at the beginning of our trip to Mexico and found the room to be quite comfy and quiet. The restaurant also has a decent menu at very reasonable prices. We especially enjoyed breakfast (which we purchased separately at the restaurant instead of having it be part of our room charge). The funny thing about this hotel is that (probably because of the language barrier), they forgot to tell us about the lovely terrace roof top that they have. We ended up leaving the craziness of Guanajuato (couldn't sleep - too many dogs barking!!) and came right back to Hotel Catedral where we knew we'd have a nice bed and quiet for the rest of our vacation!
