Hotel Catedral is ideally located in the historical centre of Mexico City. While it's right in the middle of the action, it's situated behind the cathedral on a pedestrian-only road so noise is minimal. The rear entrance is on a busy street, so makes for easy drop-off or pick-up (Uber works great in Mexico City and the drivers have no problem finding this location). The only noise we experienced during our stay was from other guests slamming doors or talking right outside our door.|We stayed here twice, with rooms in different locations, so this an amalgamation of those experiences. One room had a view of a cement wall with little direct light, while the other had a nice view to the north over historic buildings. Both rooms had a large showe rwith plenty of hot water and bath tub (but the stopper did not work well). A/C worked well. Wifi was strong. The bed was comfortable. There was no refrigerator or mini-bar in either room. There was a coffee maker, but no kettle in the room, however hot water and tea bags were available in the lobby, along with some snacks (fruit, chips, cookies, or peanuts, all in large communal bowls). Free bottled water or refill stations are available in the lobby.|Breakfast was available for an added fee, however it was much less expensive to go to the large bakery just 2 blocks away to get fresh baked breakfast every morning.|There are some decent restaurants in the historic centre, but the vast majority are bad tourist restaurants, overpriced with poor quality food. Choose wisely! We did enjoy eating a evening snack at the Terrace Bar in the hotel overlooking the back of the cathedral at sunset.|The staff is friendly and able to arrange tours.|The entrance is open 24/7 and manned by staff overnight.
