This was our second visit and once more was outstanding. Hotel Cenobio is truly wonderful. From the moment you walk through the door you feel instantly relaxed. The combination of the views, the presentation of the property and the staff is something that manages to massage the soul and restore the human spirits. A much needed element in these troubled times and we should thank them for providing just that.|Key is the professionalism of the staff who are unfailingly friendly and helpful. This doesn’t happen by accident but is clearly a reflection of the culture and training whether you be someone who cleans the rooms, or serves at reception or in the restaurants. It is unfair in some ways to single anyone out but the reception staff are amongst the best I have met anywhere. The MaitreD’ Stefano is exceptional at his job. Always smiling, always polite and facilitative, and not too proud to lend a hand clearing tables when his staff are pushed. I hope the management know the asset they have in him. |The breakfasts are excellent , the restaurants offer different atmosphere but we loved sitting near the beach at La Playa and watching the night sea swimmers from the Terrace Guilia. The pasta is special , especially with walnut sauce, the main courses some better than others in truth but nil detracts from the deep sense of bonhomie. I simply have to end with thankyou.

Hotel Cenobio dei Dogi is a rare treasure of a property along the Ligurian Sea, Everything was picture perfect: from the kind-hearted and helpful staff to our beautiful room overlooking the sea. There is a casual elegance and laid back yet super efficient style that is usually difficult to achieve. Cenobi dei Dogi makes this all happen effortlessly.||Although many prefer the chic chic town of Portofino with its high end shops and A-Liist destination, I'd take the authenticity of Comogli 10 times out of 10. You can take a ferry to Portofino iif you'd like as we did but upon return to Comogli we both exhaled as we were back in more comfortable surroundings. Here is the real flavor of la dolce vita. It's an absolutely charming town that has hasn't succumbed to the trappings of an overrun vacation destination. We loved watching the local kids blissfully playing at the beach and the relentless local swimmers who same peacefully through the clear blue water. ||There are a couple of nice restaurants at the hotel as well as many local options an easy walk away from the property. ||The pool and beach areas are truly amazing wiith salt water in the pool up top. The lifeguards and waiters all are super sweet and welcoming. The front desk and concierge couldn't be nicer. This actually may be our all-time favorite place to stay. We look forward to enjoying la dolce vita here in the future!

Our stay could not have been better! Watching the sun go down with an aperitivo on the patio was delightful. The buffet breakfast is excellent including varieties of focaccia and delicious pastries. The pool is lovely and we thoroughly enjoyed a dip in the turquoise sea from the rocky beach. One of the best and most memorable dinners we’ve had in a long time was outside on the patio of the hotel’s restaurant Giùlia. Service was outstanding, the menu was extensive, and the food and wine were excellent. Presentation of the Frito mista was a delightful surprise and the pansotti with walnut sauce was delicious.

A stunning property perched on the cliffs of the Ligurian sea with its own private beach and private pool. The restaurant and the bar were one of our favorite places to hang out. The Negroni’s and the wine were delicious ! The staff was so helpful and wonderful, and we loved our stay here the breakfast every morning was organized And delicious. The only warning I would give is that it’s a very family friendly place. We had a small child staying next-door to us and could hear him screaming early and late. There were lots of kids in the pool.

Always happy to come back to this beautiful, historical hotel with amazing facilities, perfectly located in the heart of Camogli. The atmosphere is timeless, and there’s a special charm that makes every stay memorable. Our recently refurbished room was a real delight — it featured a very comfortable bed, stunning wooden floors, warm ambient lighting, and an absolutely gorgeous bathroom. Every corner of the room was stylishly and thoughtfully furnished, creating a cozy and elegant space that made even rainy days feel like a treat. One of the standout aspects of every visit is, without a doubt, the breakfast. It’s my personal highlight: a generous selection of fresh, homemade pastries, carefully chosen cheeses, and many other delicious options that cater to all tastes. The quality and variety make mornings something to look forward to. Overall, this hotel never disappoints — it combines history, comfort, and excellent service in a way that keeps drawing me back.

This hotel is perfectly situated so you can walk out the front door and be in the heart of beautiful Camogli. Private black rock beach and the sea was perfect for swimming when I visited. The rooms and shared areas are both absolutely stunning and mid century chic---I felt like I was in a Lina Wertmuller movie. The only low points: the QR code ordering at the beach did not work and the servers don't walk around the beach chair area, so you have to run up the stairs and find someone at the restaurant to make a to go order if you want a drink or a snack at the beach. The staff overall was wonderful but the hotel seems geared towards families and couples. As a solo woman, waiters did not approach me when I was seated alone even when I asked for a menu and brought me the wrong drink twice, so I gave up trying to signal and just went down the street for my martini. Any attempts to make any reservation for one was greeted with total consternation, if not rudeness. The stay was nice overall and I would love to go back with my partner, but would probably not do a solo trup again.

Google
Rooms and pool quite run down. Air con didn’t work properly. Not luxury. Stayed there 6 nights and the front desk provided limited to zero help through out stay. Extremely unfriendly in Italian or English. It felt like asking them a question was an enormous hassle. Location is great. Service and food at the restaurant on balcony - La Terraza Giulia was exemplary. Service at breakfast and aperitivo also very good. Shame about the rest.

My son and daughter in law came last year and thought it would be the perfect place for a family holiday, so we came with my two sons, their wives and our six month old granddaughter. It was perfect in every way. The location is spectacular, the staff so kind and helpful and the food was absolutely delicious. We had a truly memorable family holiday and will definitely be back.

Yelp
The most beautiful hotel I have ever had the pleasure of staying at. The views, the old world elegance, the attentive and charming service. It is all just exquisite. I cannot wait to come back to Camogli and this precious gem of a resort. If you can make your way I cannot endorse enough, the best decision we made for our ten day adventure through Tuscany and Liguria. .

Erin S.

Yelp
Spend the money for the sea view with terrace. These rooms are outstanding and close to the bar and pool. The staff was exceptionally helpful. I'd spend my days in Camogli and skip the Cinque Terre - maybe a visit to Montorosso if you have to say you went to Cinque Terre.

Carolyn V.

Yelp
The hotel is beautiful, well-situated, and immaculate. Breakfasts were fantastic with many options and great views. Service was impeccable from start to finish. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

Yelp
Oggi colazione da signori al cenobio dei dogi di Camogli. Vista spettacolare, servizio impeccabile, caffè ottimo e buona focaccia. Struttura molto ben tenuta, bella piscina e posizione perfetta. Sarà da provare l'hotel!

Elizabeth M.

Yelp
Beautiful hotel in an incredible setting. Everyone from the front desk staff to the parking valets to the wait staff in the restaurant were polite and helpful. The daily breakfast buffet included freshly baked pastries, juices and savory foods including cheeses and sliced meats. Highly recommended for a relaxing stay away from the crowds at Cinque Terre. Easy to visit other scenic places including PortoDino by train or car.

Yelp
Excellent stay in Camogli! We were unfortunately only there for one night, on our way further up the coast, but everything was wonderful: the staff, the property and the room all exceeded expectations. And on top of the, the location and that VIEW - wonderful!

Steve F.

Yelp
This hotel is one of our favorites in Europe! The staff is excellent! They are extremely helpful and gracious. The views are stunning, and the food is fantastic! We cannot wait to return!!!

Yelp
Precious Seaside Hotel, with a delicious breakfast buffet included, a fun bar area with great snacks and great customer service ... The only downfalls were that It did not have air-conditioning in the rooms, which wasn't an issue for us, but could be a big issue during the hot summer and the beds were also not the most comfortable (super stiff), but other than that, we loved the location with easy access to the little town of Camogli and the train station (just steps away), the heated pool and the staff, who even arranged to-go breakfast boxes for our early departure to the airport. We were very pleased overall.

The C.

Yelp
Beautiful - so relaxing had beautiful pools and private beach. Alcohol by the pool area is inexpensive.

D H.

Yelp
Charming hotel in great location with class A restaurant on-site. Unfortunately, Marie may stick you in a room above the restaurant and across from the noisy outdoor cafe for you to enjoy the noise of diners and celebrating late into the night and call it their 'quietest room' as you requested.

Caitlin J.

Yelp
AmaIng stay, can't recommend enough. The location was great and staff attentive. The private beach was the cherry on the cake.

Yelp
Truth be told, this was not our first choice in the area. We had out eyes set on a small 6 room boutique hotel...but it was totally booked. Hotel Cenobio is larger with about 100 rooms but truly is a comfortable and lovely place with a pretty perfect location and as close to the beach as you can get. It's classic Italian hotel with beautiful gardens and romance. The grounds were pristine and everyone that we encountered was extremely friendly and helpful. It was also nice to see other local business owners hanging out at the bar. The rooms are well appointed. We had a suite that didn't quite feel like a suite. It was basically a hotel room with a side room, but that's ok, at least we had the extra space for our luggage. We had views to the ocean, thankfully! The rooms were super clean as well. Breakfast is served daily in one of the dining rooms with huge windows looking out to the gorgeous ocean. Breakfast is an array of fresh fruit, cheeses, bread, pastries, eggs, cure meats and more. The coffee was mediocre, which is really sad and unacceptable for Italy- period. Most days my cappuccino was piping hot. They have some room to improve. But overall breakfast was satisfactory. What really makes this place is the the private beach. It's perfection! Tons of loungers are available and free of charge. The beach, which is quite rocky even has a ladder to ease into the water. There is a pool if you don't want to get in the ocean...but you're in the riveria...so skip the pool! We were clearly there during slow season, as the restaurant above the beach was closed for the rest of the season, but I imagine in peak summer months it's full service. This hotel was super comfortable, elegant and clean. It lacked the intimate and more local vibe we usually go for when we pick hotels, but it's definitely a nice place all across the board.

Yelp
We cancelled same day for Covid +. Hospital proof was required and we paid for one day of 2 rooms. Not a great value. I read the terms, it's legal.

Jane A.

Yelp
Fantastic stay! Beautiful setting, very comfortable rooms, delicious food and exceptional breakfast. The service is first rate. We loved every minute.

Jonathan C.

Yelp
A delightful stay in a quite large, traditional Italian hotel, in a superb location with a private beach and spectacular views, out to sea, up the coast and across the town. A five minute walk to the harbor in one direction and to the start of the network of hiking trails in the other. Somewhat mundane/old fashioned decor, but well maintained. (If looking for a more contemporary, elegant and intimate hotel, this isn't it ---- public rooms are large and not particularly welcoming --- but if you're planning to be mostly outdoors the location, views, service, and attention make it an excellent choice.). Extremely helpful and pleasant staff, Comfortable, spotlessly clean, large room; huge balcony - could have had a party for a dozen - overlooking the sea, town and gardens. Excellent breakfast - but didn't eat other meals n the hotel so can't comment on the restaurant. Highly recommended and will return - particularly for location & views, general condition of the property, service and comfort.

Marisa S.

Yelp
Comfortable, luxurious, and convenient. Located just on the edge of town, free parking is offered to all guests and there is no driving through ZTL zones. The grounds are impeccable and tropical with colors and flowers and palms everywhere. The location is utterly stunning. Up on a cliff a bit over the water, the views reach both ways down the coast. The breakfast room (which also serves as one of the main restaurants) has giant windows that make you feel like you are in a painting. Just a two minute walk and you are on the main boardwalk with all the cafes and restaurants and shops Camogli has to offer. The grocery store, several other cafes, and several produce stores are a short walk up the hill. The private beach sealed the deal for me. Plenty of loungers were always available either on the beach or the little sun decks & jetties and the attendants were happy to set up for either sun or shade. The shore is not sand but small rocks - I had no trouble navigating but many others kept on sandals. There is also a diving platform down the small paved jetty that allowed easy entry into the water if you didn't want to walk in on the rocks. The floating barrier detracted a bit from the scenery but kept the water free of debris. It was also sometimes a little difficult to tell if lounges were available or being saved. The pool was large and clean and had great views from the cliff. Our lunch at the bar was alright, the trofie and shrimp were good but very oily. Breakfast was outstanding - ridiculous selection of pastries, fruits, hot dishes, meats, cheeses, etc. We had dinner once on the property and were treated to an almost private experience in the dining room and a delicious dinner of whole roasted sea bass. We walked to a local pasta shop for lunch and brought it back for a quiet lunch in the hotel garden. Our room was cool and comfortable with a fridge and luxury sized toiletries. Staff was friendly and helpful. I hope someday we can return.

Anthony L.

Yelp
I was pleasantly surprised. We had a room without a view. We had a garden view. The property is very well maintained and our room looks like it was redecorated 5 minutes before our arrival. The room had a number of electrical outlets. The internet was very good. The hotels location on the sea was fantastic. The staff is very professional, knowledgeable and friendly. The only minor complaint is there was no makeup mirror in the bathroom. We hope to go back again.

Michele S.

Yelp
We tried the restaurant - S. Valentine's menu - and were not disappointed. The menu was sophisticated yet not discomfortingly chic, daring yet not disrespectful to tradition. Service was very attentive and courteous, and the location has a wonderful view on the sea and the borgo.

Amy O.

Yelp
The hotel was beautiful. The pool and beach were lovely. The hotel staff was very helpful with booking my Covid test to return back to the states. Hotel also very clean and felt safe and comfortable. Highly recommend.

John C.

Yelp
My wife and I had the time of our lives here at the hotel. Staff is very friendly and accommodating. The views from the pool, terrace and hotel restaurants are amazing and if you are planning a trip to Liguria I highly recommend staying here and enjoying the town of Camogli. Day trips are very easy from this hotel with the train station just a few minute walk... From Camogli you can take a boat to visit San Fruttuoso, Portofino, Santa Margherita, Genoa etc... there is even a train from Camogli that takes you directly to the Cinque Terre. We will be back!

Christine W.

Yelp
Wonderful location in beautiful Camogli. Nice separate beach and kayak for guests (but access to beach was somewhat odd having to walk thru the hotel lounge/bar patio). Room could have used a little update/refresh but the sea view was worth the upgrade. Staff were nice but not overly excited to give us suggestions for what to do outside of the resort. Breakfast offered was well appointed. Camogli itself is amazing, easy access by train. Has boat dock to visit all of the surrounding Italian Riviera cities. Amazing hiking with easily marked trails.

Jennifer C.

Yelp
This hotel is excellent. The location is amazing with views of Camogli that are unbeatable. The first time I stepped into the dining room which overlooks the whole city and the ocean, I was blown away. Breathtaking views. It is located just one street down from the train station. The staff are incredibly helpful and friendly. While they're close to the train station, it does require taking about a million stairs down to reach the hotel which means up when you leave. When we left we asked for help with our bags, they had someone drive us and our luggage up to the train station, and he even carried our bags up to the platform where we would board our train. This was especially appreciated since we had heavy bags and no elevators. One night, we found a bug in our room (after leaving the patio doors open all day) and they promptly sent someone up to help take care of it. The pool and private beach are nice. Lots of sun chairs. Breakfast included eggs, bacon, cold cuts in addition to a wide assortment of pastries. I would definitely stay here again and would highly recommend it to others.

Nolan M.

Yelp
Walls were paper thin. Some of the staff was very nice and helpful. One of the staff was quite rude to us. The maid service was very great. I can't stress this enough. I could hear everything from water to someone touching the towel rack.

Isabel H.

Yelp
Hotel Cenobia is perfectly situated on the Ligurian Sea with views of Comoglia, a salt water pool, a rocky beach (there are no sand beaches to speak of) and plenty of terraces to enjoy the sea. The staff is helpful and ready with suggestions of things to see and do. Food is quite good, parking is free which is a plus as Comoglia is quite a small town. It is only a 2 block walk to the train, hikes, restaurants, and ferries. Our room was the least expensive but also quite small - it could only accommodate 1 bedside table so would opt for an upgrade. There were a number of families as well as many couples and a few people planning for their destination wedding at the hotel. It is definitely a place we would return to.

Roger B.

Yelp
Fantastic setting and the staff are very friendly. Exceptional customer service. I would not hesitate about returning to this Hotel.

Massimiliano B.

Yelp
We were very unhappy with the service at the hotel. Considering the cost of the hotel - almost 500E a night, we expected a luxury hotel. On the contrary the rooms are not great, you pay extra for sea view but our room was located in a shabby situation. The mattresses are terrible. Overall the service was very unattentive. The pool looks outdated. The beds at the beach are not comfortable and there is NO service at the beach. The only good thing is the wonderful location of Camogli and the private beaches. But it warrants maximum 200E a night
