😊: only location is good.. 😢: strong smell of cleaning products. very noisy all night long, with people shouting. small and poor room. very old building. tiny breakfast served in a neighbor restaurant, after a daily voucher, in 5 options and very small. on the restaurant, always overcrowded and noisy, every day they decrease the amount of food, forcing you to pay for extras..

😊: The staff was so accommodating and friendly, and the complementary breakfast at the corner restaurant was great. It felt super safe and secure. I was aware of reviews criticizing the facilities, but for the price and location, I was very satisfied. Safety, security and comfort were my priorities. Fresh paint was not.. 😢: Nothing. I read the reviews and felt comfortable with what I was getting. My expectations were exceeded..

😊: The personnel is very friendly and know what customer service is. The location is perfect right in the center of Zona 1. Breakfast is really good: they provide a ticket to make effective at Patsy restaurant right beside the hotel.. 😢: The hotel looks pretty old inside. The carpet is worn out and dirty. Walls require paint. Illumination is a bit creepy and sad. The owners of the stablishment need to invest to provide a fresher look and feel to the hotel..

Umberto was kind and always willing to help. The room is abit small but that didn't bother us. As cleanliness is more important, which is was clean and the bed average in comfort. T.v worked fine. Basic cable. Shower has hot water. But again you can see it definitely needs an overhaul. There is visible mold. But not enough to kill you. In old cement buildings like this , there will always be mold some where. I have been to many tropical climate countries with the same style buildings and they always have the same common issue. For the price , this place is great. The location is awesome, you have 2 historical buildings , just steps away from the hotel. The hotel is old and is showing its age , but we do like its rustic appeal . The building and decor does need up keep or else it will deteriorate more . The best part is the breakfast . The room includes a breakfast from the restaurant next door (patsy). Honestly, that really ups value for your stay. If you are not picky about little things , i would definitely recommend this place. We did not have a rental so i don't know what the parking issue was, as i saw a lot of flak about that in the reviews Lastly, the area felt really safe compared to most areas in Guatemala city, which again ups the value. We will stay there again.

Beautiful location. It's an ancient building, rooms are small but good enough to sleep in. Very friendly customer service at the desk, room is clean in general and there's a private bathroom. The hotel definitely needs a redo, but apart from that it's great for the price ( 295 quetxales a night). Area is safe, there's police officers literally everywhere so we felt safe to walk around even at night. Best part was the free breakfast which is at a restaurant called Patsy. Breakfast was delicious and staff is very friendly. I would recommend to travelers, there's so many more restaurants and tiendas around , there's even the underground market a few blocks away.

I spent the Holy Week this year in Guatemala. An experience of a life time. By recommendation of Guatemalan friends I booked the Centenario hotel for five nights. My first impression was not good. It says 3 stars, but I will give the most 2 stars. The rooms are simple, but clean and comfortable, as well as the beds. The location is excellent for what I went there for: to admire the magnificent display of processions and culture. The hotel is the only one at the main square, where all the activities take place. Next to the hotel there is a restaurant, very popular with local people. Great food and an excellent breakfast (included in the price of the hotel). If you do care about a simple accommodation, this hotel will satisfy you. I am a world traveler and, at the beginning I was a little disappointed, but, the location, the breakfast and price compensated. Next year I will be back to Guatemala for the Holy Week and I will stay in the same hotel. Last but not least, the kindness of the workers are outstanding. I felt like home. The price? You will be surprised! I even felt guilty for paying $98.00 for five nights including breakfast. Just unbelievable. Simple hotel, great location, wonderful people and an unbeatable price.

Perfect location! Very old style hotel. Looks like at the time of the revolution, but for this much money what we expect?! Ok for 1night, but not relaxing at all! Breakfast voucher valid for the Patsy Restaurant next door with the best breakfast I had in Guatemala!

Unfortunately me and my partner had a very average stay here. The staff came off very rude and we're super unhelpful. As English speaking tourists, this area was quite intimidating and we weren't very comfortable. The rooms were very basic, no fans, no air flow, cockroaches were found daily, beds were fairly rock hard, never had our room cleaned and basically no information provided what so ever. We even had a translator on our phone we used and they didn't even want to try and use that for help. Our last morning the water was turned off so was the vending machine(only fresh water accessible at certain hours of the morning/night). If you are an English speaking tourist I wouldn't recommend.
