Hôtel Central Avignon

Room was clean and well sized, but the heat pump/AC unit was decidedly lackluster so we needed to sleep with the windows open. Thankfully our windows opened into the pretty internal courtyard so noise wasn't an issue. Great location very close to the train station, and they have a small cocktail bar adjoined to the hotel. Front desk staff were cordial but seemed a little disinterested

Its brilliantly located between the station and the Palace of the Popes. There is a bar but there are also loads of restaurants in the area. We were in 246 - a big bedroom with excellent lift to it. Clean and well-cleaned. Coffee and kettle which can be unusual in France. Really helpful staff. Large choice breakfast if a bit expensive at 14 Euro. Nice sitting out area in the grounds where it was good to chill over a drink. Ticked all our boxes!!

Expensive hotel, but they don't care for the guests. I didn't feel welcome here, I arrived and had to go to the second through dark and uneven stairs with all my bags with no employee of the hotel to help me and my 60 year old mother. My brother slipped twice in the stairs and hurt his hand, im sure it wouldn't pass european safety standards. The tea mugs in the room were still dirty with lipstick from the previous guest, so its clear that they dont clean it.

We had a very unfortunate experience at this hotel and I would recommend not staying here. We walked into our rooms and noticed significant mould and dirt, attached. We left and they refused to offer us a refund or alternative accommodation and it's been over a week since they last responded refusing a refund. Do yourself a favour and book elsewhere :( - there are a number of other nice hotels in Avignon

Central location, clean and tidy. Very friendly and helpful staff. Breakfast is available (extra charge). Free WiFi , A/C.

We were upgraded to a large clean bedroom on the upper terrace with a large bathroom, which was a kind gesture. However that evening was cold and windy and our room was cool when we arrived, which was unsettling as we couldn't get the heating controls to work. Staff remedied this; they also helpfully told us where to board the bus to the magnificent Port du Gard 20 miles away the next day. Breakfast at the hotel was sufficient but a little fraught, with fresh bread running out one morning, and my partner had to keep checking no-one had run off with his 'self-cooked' boiled egg. On the plus side, gluten-free bread was available on request.

There are many homeless around this hotel, breakfast is below average, air condition malfunctioned, low water pressure and water doesn’t get hot for several minutes. We stayed in six different hotels during our two weeks travel in France and this hotel was the worst by far.

After a long train journey from Germany, arrived in Avignon. It was a sultry night and upon arrival at the room was happy to find that it had air conditioning. It was situated at the top with a little outdoor terrace. Room was uniquely decorated and was clean. The beds were comfortable and the bathroom was spacious with a roomy walk in shower. The hotel is perfectly situated, a 5 minute walk to the station and a short walk to the Palais Des Papes. Thoroughly recommend and would stay again if I return to Avignon again. Didn’t sample the breakfast but looked adequate enough.
