The junior suite was booked for two days, but upon entering room 301, we immediately realized that we didn’t want to stay even one more minute.
The reality did not match the photos shown on the booking website. The room was gloomy and dirty — there was dust on the floor, light fixtures, tables, electrical outlets, and the mattress was stained. The air was stifling — the ceiling fan above the bed just stirred up dust, and the bathroom fan made a loud noise every time the light was turned on, which echoed throughout the entire room. Opening the windows was nearly impossible — the sliding mechanisms were old, worn out, and barely functioning.
The room did not meet the standards of a junior suite. Upon entering from the shared staircase, you find a bed placed with the headboard against the door, which has no sound insulation. As a result, we were startled all night long by slamming doors and voices in the hallway.
From this area, there’s a door leading to what is called a “guest room,” but in reality, it looks more like a storage closet — no windows, no air conditioning. It had two small sofas with a TV and a built-in wardrobe, which couldn’t be used to store belongings if you care about them — the door was broken and the inside was filthy. On a summer day with 30°C outside, it was impossible to stay in that room for more than a minute.
Opposite the bed, there is an open passage (with no door) leading to what is described as a kitchenette. It consists of a microwave, a small fridge, and a kettle with limescale on the inside — that’s about it. There were two cups, quite dirty, placed on stained napkins clearly left by previous guests. One wine glass was also available. This “kitchenette” is completely unusable.
The toilet and shower area lacked a height-adjustable shower head and had visible dirt on some surfaces, along with ants on the floor.
The terrace looked like something out of a horror movie — walls and ceiling seemingly untouched since the 19th century, and the trees blocked out all light, making the room feel even darker and more depressing.
We asked to be moved to the room shown in the booking photos — unfortunately, we were only offered smaller rooms, barely larger than a double bed, with the toilet hidden behind a wardrobe door. No price difference was offered for the downgrade from the junior suite, so we had no choice but to refuse.
We ended up staying just one night and left early in the morning. This so-called junior suite does not meet basic cleanliness standards or the expectations for a property labeled as luxury.
The hotel refused to refund us for the unused second night.
