Best value for money hotel. It's a heritage style hotel. The location of this hotel is the best part and also the view from the balcony, it's absolutely breathtaking. Bus station and train station in just walking distance. We even walked to the local stores from the hotel to get souvenirs. The girl at the reception was polite and helpful but they are little strict with the checkin time. But they agreed to keep our luggage as we arrived a little early. The entrance hall will give you a feel of old style heritage building which was cool. However the rooms were little noisy and small. If the rooms and washrooms can be little modern then this place is a five star. We also enjoyed the complementary breakfast which was very filling and they had many good options including variety of Swiss cheese :) If you are looking for Indian food there is a small yet nice Indian restaurant just few steps away towards the bus station. Overall it's a nice value for money place. I recommend this place.

I was really excited to visit Interlaken because it looked so beautiful in pictures. When I got to the Hotel Central Continental, the outside looked okay. But inside, it was a big disappointment. My stay there was not good at all, it was dirty, felt bad, and was just unpleasant.|The worst part was the smell of the hotel. It smelled really, really bad, like moldy chips. It wasn't just a little smell; it was strong. And the bathroom just felt grimy. It wasn't a place where I felt comfortable getting clean.|The room itself wasn't much better. There was a gross smell, like old, moldy chips hanging in the air. It made the whole room feel dirty. The walls were falling apart, with the wallpaper peeling off. In the downstairs bathroom, some of the tiles were missing from the wall, which looked broken and messy. The room felt old and not taken care of.|The people who worked there weren't very nice. They seemed like they didn't want to help. On the day I was leaving, the cleaners tried to rush me out of my room even before it was time to check out. It felt like they just wanted me gone. When I asked someone at the front desk a question, they weren't helpful at all. They didn't seem to care if I had a good stay or not.|The pictures of the hotel online made it look much better than it was. The outside looked fine, but the inside was awful. The breakfast room, the lobby, and the hallways were old and in very bad shape. They looked like they hadn't been cleaned or updated in a very long time.|The overall feeling of the hotel was really sad and gloomy. It felt like a place where nobody was happy. Even a funeral would have felt more lively than this hotel. There was no good feeling about being there at all.|To sum it up, my time at the Hotel Central Continental in Interlaken was a big letdown. The hotel was dirty, things were broken, and the people who worked there weren't friendly. It was nothing like I expected from the pictures and the beautiful location. I left feeling very unhappy and like I had wasted my time and money on a bad place to stay.

Rooms: The room itself was quite underwhelming—small, old, and in need of renovation. We even felt itchy sleeping on the bed, which made us relieved that it was only a one-night stay. That said, the balcony was absolutely breathtaking and truly the highlight of the room. The view made a big difference to our overall experience. Breakfast: One unusual and slightly amusing aspect was that guests had to fry their own eggs—something I’ve never encountered in a hotel before. There was even a sign stating that only eggs were allowed, but unfortunately, some guests ignored it and started frying other items, which visibly upset the staff. Lobby: The lobby was not well maintained and felt quite dull. It definitely needs some updating and care to improve the guest impression on arrival. Service: It seemed like there was a staffing shortage, as all the workers we saw were women juggling multiple roles—from front desk duties to preparing breakfast and cleaning. While some staff members were kind, others seemed understandably exhausted and came across as rude. It felt like they were overworked and under-supported. Location: The location is fairly good—not too far from the city center, which makes getting around convenient. Other Notes: I expected more from this property and was a bit disappointed overall. However, one nice perk is that they offer free parking, which is always appreciated.

No ac and it was 91 degrees. Had to blast fans all night. Gave us shower packets to use which is corny and not sure why they couldn't just wall mount the soap and shampoo like a normal hotel. Breakfast was basic and offered very little which is why it was probably free. Staff was friendly and accommodating but this is a niche hotel if you want some kind of rustic experience which I didn't. Oh and also no refrigerator 👎

The rooms are very small and have very thin walls. You can hear everything. The main issue is construction. We had no clue but our room with a balcony view over the river was covered by scaffolding, so there was no view. At 7am sharp every morning extremely loud construction will start right outside your window. Bring ear plugs if you have to stay here.

Excellent location and looks great from outside. Reception service okish nothing to praise about. Rooms just pure dirty and filthy and disgusting. Hair in the drawers bathtub filthy soap leaking out from dispenser smell of dampness. Should have read the reviews before booking. Checked in on 22nd June around 9pm and checked out st 10pm same evening. Was asked by receptionist why took 1 hr to decide to check out🤪

1. Location is amazing. Near the Interlaken West station and accessible to many convince stores surrounding. 2. Services - Worst of the worst - Came in late night at 12a.m but no one was checking in for me, rang the bell and no one was answering. I traveled 7 hours and was super exhausted. Fortunately we able to reach an emergency number and got a chance to enter. - The room was bad, there are plenty of rules in the room, no water on the floor for bathroom, no trash bag, curtain has to be in the tub. Like are we going military or traveling idk? Luckily, the view from the window saved the day. - Check out service: The cleaner rush me out of the hotel room even before the check out time and try to drag my stuff out for me. He was super rude and asking if we know how to read the direction to check out on time. Lol meanwhile they don’t even have a person to check me in the day before. Never comeback in general

Not a fan, very disappointed, had good reviews but it just wasn’t for us. Worst ever hotel we had stayed for 4 nights. There is no safe-box, mini fridge, rubbish/trash litter and toiletries at all in our hotel room. The next day, we went out for our Swiss Alps, when we came back to the hotel room, we noticed that our iPhone Airpod was missing. Inside the hotel room also can go missing, so terrible, no security at all. There is no hotel manager to solve the issue. However we manage to lodge a police report. I would not recommend this hotel.

Yelp
This hotel is lovely! Karin at the front desk was knowledgeable, polite, kind and extremely helpful. My husband and I were here for our honeymoon and just fell in love with this place. The hotel is located directly next to the bus and train stations and provides you with a blue card which allows you to ride the buses for free. It has phenomenal views of the mountains and rivers and is far enough away from the touristy spots to get a good nights sleep. The beds are ridiculously comfortable and the water pressure and temperature are perfect. Our room has an automatic water heater so we can make tea and or coffee at our leisure. Complementary breakfast was a must when booking a hotel here, because food is quite expensive and lucky for us this place has it. It's just enough to get you up and going until lunch. Overall, I give this place 5 stars not only for the comfort, but also for the customer service! Thank you Karin! We will be back next year!

Yelp
Absolute dump. Don't really know where to start. Looks like they have not done any updates in 20 plus years and what has been done is in cheapest half ass way. So I included pictures.Torn and worn carpets/rugs,spot touch up paint on woodwork, 2 different lights installed in bath??, no bars of soap, a packet of I ?? 4in1 soap, shampoo, conditioner and body wash? Just pitiful. overall dirty, unkept, not kidding on this one motion detector lights in the hallways.WHO DOES THAT? The wi-fi installed in baskets on walls in hallways, beds left in hallways, and I think the tackiest thing I have ever seen STOLEN grocery carts from the coop store down the street being used as the linen carts. Breakfast buffet was very questionable. Did have some fresh melon but rest was processed very low quality and looked like same food put out day after day. Staff was not friendly nor helpful. Buyers beware we left as soon as we could after 2 days and found much nicer accommodations

Yelp
The hotel is old which is fine but shabby is another thing. Very sloppy and expensive for the quality. Breakfast was plentiful but lousy food. Inedible and crowded and the odor made it even more unappetizing. No ice in entire hotel. Beds in hall together with other building supplies and old non-working refrigerator. Floors all scratched and in need of refinishing. Staff unhelpful from minute we arrived. Caters to bus tours. Soda machine in lobby non-existent. Entire place in dire need of makeover and paint job. Even flag outside tattered. Would not recommend to friend.

Yelp
It's funny when spoiled people from the city's in the states complain about small town hotels. I see pictures of a probably a public bathroom and a exposed router. The router has given the best WiFi since it's not hidden behind anything and my suite is absolutely clean, they replace the perfectly white bedding everyday, not just remake the bed like some hotels. The staff was very helpful and didn't get frustrated when I was asking sometimes difficult questions in English since it is a secondary language to some of them. The location is right in the middle of everything overlooking the rivers on both sides and all the mountains. Yes it's a very old building so don't expect a Hilton or Marriott quality of comfort, it doesn't have a/c (but it's June and it stays in the 70s during the day and reaches the 50s by night so you don't need it). And if there's any complaint on no ice lol it's not standard to have ice in every drink for Europeans. If your want luxury pay hundreds of dollars somewhere else but if u want a nice place to sleep for a good price and do outdoor activities with a nice balcony to have a bottle of wine on while watching the sun rise or set then this is the place for you!
