This hotel has been around for quite a while and has a quaint historic quality. It is not fancy but I found it perfectly suited for my needs during a conference at the nearby chateau. The most striking characteristic was the silence: not a sound from the street or from within the hotel itself (even though there were lots of other guests). My room was large, impeccably clean, and well-heated (this was mid-January). Breakfast was simple but adequate (great coffee), and there are lots of excellent restaurants nearby.

This hotel is situated near the main shopping centre so is convienent for the city centre. It advertises on booking that it has car parking available but this is not the case as only street parking is available but this may be some distance from the hotel. Our room was cramped, the wallpaper was peeling off the walls and the bathroom was in need of a refurb. We had booked the same hotel also for a couple of weeks hence on our return journey but decided to cancel the booking as it was so poor.

Excellent location for exploring the town, everything within walking distance! Clean room with enough space and comfortable bed. All one really could expect for this price. Only lack is the missing airconditioning, but the table fan in room gets you through the heat waves.

The location is great. Within walking distance of most everything. The rooms are clean but spartanly appointed. The rooms in front are noisy and there is no air conditioning. You have to choose between the noise and the heat. The beds are not that comfortable. Breakfast was pretty simple. The staff were nice.

We stayed here for a night and it was comfortable, clean, quiet and affordable. The wifi was strong. It's convenient to the historical center and the train station. They offer breakfast for around 7 euros. It is the typical bread, yogurt, coffee, etc. offered in most French hotels. The receptionist was helpful. I recommend it.

Got stuck in Pau due to some delays on the train and picked the hotel by random. A very nice hotel with a discreet exterior in the center of the town. Friendly, helpful staff. Clean room and decent pricing. The rooms facing the street can get some noise.

this is a comfortable, well located hotel with quiet good sized rooms. The rooms in the back are very quiet, near lots of restaurants and the old town I highly recommend it- the receptionist/owner was extremely helpful and friendly! thank you for the early breakfast!

I picked this hotel as it fits my budget and is not far to walk to the main area.||||Check-in was quick and efficient with friendly and helpful staff. The hotel has no lifts, the stairs leading to my room is wide and brightly lit. ||||My Basque-theme room is on the third floor with windows open to the interior and is quiet. The room has a queen size bed, two soft pillows, two bedside tables, a desk, a chair, an armchair, a high stool, a TV, the old fashion closet is located by the main door and is separated from the bedroom by another door. The bathroom has a shower and a hairdryer.||||Despite the cheerful decorations, the furnishing and lamps in the room show signs of wear and tear; even though mine is a non-smoking room, it has a stale cigarette smell. ||||The dimly lit bathroom is also dated, I had to hide the bathroom air freshener in the closet to not feel like I was using a pubic toilet. The bathroom's small built-in shower is at a height that can be tricky to get in and out of, adding to the annoyance is the shower curtain - it is too long and takes up space in the already cramp shower.||||There is no fan or air conditioner in the room, since my room faces the interior, I was able to leave my windows open overnight. Sleep was ok, would be much better if the hotel provides firmer pillows.||||The hotel has three car parking space in a nearby private garage which one has to pre-book, off street parking is free in the evening until I think 8am. The hotel has a game room/guest area and offers breakfast, the reception is closed in the evening where one must use a pin code to enter.||||The hotel is about 5 minutes walk across the town square where one can find restaurants/cafes and a supermarket, there are more restaurants to be found at a more upmarket part of town near Château de Pau. A 5 minutes walk to the other direction past the art museum, on the corner of Rue Bonado and Rue Henri Faisans, is a good pastry shop (Patisserie Saint André Letendart).||||Unless the hotel updates its rooms, I would not stay here again.
