The hotel is conveniently located in Ploiesti, and while the interior is pleasant, it does feel somewhat outdated.
The beds were comfortable, and basic bathroom amenities were provided. The room was clean, and air conditioning was available, though it could be noisy at night. A mini fridge was included, but I was only given one room keycard, which meant the power shut off whenever I left the room. Additionally, there was no plug in the bathroom for a hair straightener, which was inconvenient.
The room came with some tea and instant coffee packets, but for a 4-star hotel, I expected more—like a proper coffee machine. An iron was also absent, which is another small detail that detracts from the overall experience.
I encountered repeated issues with my keycard, which kept failing, forcing me to reprogram it constantly. This was quite frustrating.
The hotel does have a small fitness room on the ground floor, although it’s in an open area and the equipment is dated. It served its purpose, but the setting is not as appealing as the pictures suggest since it's not near the pool area.
I didn’t try the breakfast or have the cleaning service during my stay, so I can't comment on those aspects.
However, two major issues stand out:
The reception staff was notably unwelcoming. The front desk ladies displayed a condescending attitude, often rolling their eyes or responding aggressively when approached. They consistently made our group feel as though we were inconveniencing them, and their dismissive tone, cutting off conversations with a rude "I know," was off-putting.
The hotel's wellness area was particularly disappointing. It's only open from 5:00 PM to 10:00 PM, which is incredibly restrictive, making it almost impossible to use during the day. Even worse, a maintenance man had to unlock the doors and remained in the vicinity the entire time, creating an uncomfortable atmosphere. The pool water was poorly maintained, with insects floating on the surface. The jacuzzi was not operational and was freezing cold, with no instructions on how to turn it on, rendering it unusable. This is a real shame, as the area itself is quite lovely and had potential.
In conclusion, while the hotel is comfortable, it falls short of the standards expected of a 4-star rating. The outdated facilities, poor service, and restrictive wellness area make it a disappointing choice overall.
