Great hotel in a perfect location close by to everything you need and close to so many good museum. Really nice breakfast. Friendly and helpful staff. Room great size and clean.

Really good hotel with a nice complimentary upgrade. Service in the hotel is excellent, my wife had an issue with a lost jumper that the hotel replaced which really impressed me. Great location right on the edge of the old town. Breakfast isn’t the best, but other than that all was good.

Very pleasant hotel. The room was spacious and clean, the bathroom is nice, the breakfast is tasty. I presume there is a music club nearby, the music was rather loud until 23:00, but the night was silent.

Wonderfully located hotel, only steps away from 90% of all attractions in Sarajevo (Bascarsija, Latin Bridge, Sebilj, Museum of Genocide, Museum of the Sarajevo Siege, War Childhood Museum, Sacred Heart Cathedral, Bazi Underground Shopping Complex, et al). The National Museum is a 15-minute tram ride via the Katedralni (The Iconic #3 Bascarsija-Ilidza Route) Tram Stop. The Tunnel of Hope is the only attraction that is far away - a 25 minute cab (and they are notoriously difficult to get in Sarajevo, and impossible if you don't have a Bosnian number - if you do, try Zuti Taxi) or a 1.5 hour (but very pleasant) tram ride. The Ilidza Gardens are also far away. The Sarajevo Bus Station is also a 10 minute tram ride away, along with the SCC and Aria Malls (good for a quick visit). Trebevic Mountain Cable car is a quick 11-12 minute walk - all in all, you can't get a better location. The staff is curt, but helpful - although not overly gracious. Do not expect South-East Asian standard service. The basic rooms on the right block are tacky, but very comfortable and the WiFi is superb. The superior rooms in the left block are slightly more compact, but far more modern and less tacky. The hotel has good amenities (a decently stocked gym and a very nice basement pool). The only downside to my experience was the breakfast spread. It was very disappointing. The food was repetitive (Sausages, a weird Zucchini curry, fried potato wedges, half-fried eggs, packaged 'Cappy' juice, watery milk, bad coffee, and the tiniest chunks of fruit you'll see) and tasted bad. I would honestly opt for this property without the Breakfast option and save on the money as Klopa, Sarajevo's best breakfast spot is literally 500 steps away (you can even see it from the reception - to the left of the cathedral). If you're a first time visitor looking to do touristy stuff, it doesn't get better than this. However, if you're a repeat visitor or coming for business and don't mind a steeper price point and a 10-minute tram ride to all the attractions - go for the Swissotel instead. Overall: Solid 4/5

One star is being generous and for giving better room on day 2. Location is fantastic but that's about it. This is a worst hotel we stayed in sarajevo. Booked on booking.com, specifically checked for fridge in the room as needed it for baby milk but it wasn't working. When we mentioned to the reception, they said they will get checked next morning and nothing was done until next afternoon. When we asked again they said 'fridge is in apartment and not room' ! There was a fridge in the room just not working!! They left working fridge next day in evening. When we came back in the room after few hours in the town, room was not cleaned and their excuse was they were short of staff. Guess they don't employ staff..! The room given to us on 6th floor was dark, dingy, dirty and DODGY! The blinds were broken, AC was NOT WORKING, plugs were coming off the wall. There is serious safety issue here. It was boiling at night and so loud outside so couldn't leave the window open. Total scam! They claim to be 4 star hotel, it's not even 1 star hotel. Reception staff is unfriendly, breakfast was average. DO NOT STAY HERE, Sarajevo has many better accommodations for the price this dodgy hotel charges.

The location of this hotel is good as it is quite close to the old town area where you can find food and shopping places. They have a sauna (only one room of sauna thats working out of the 2) but their steam room was not working. The room and bathroom had a standard level of cleanliness, but for a 4-star hotel, it needs to work on deep cleanliness. The breakfast is very limited, and it does not get refilled when something is finished. A lot of the times when I visited the breakfast area, it was empty, and there was still 2 hours left until breakfast finished. The lift is also very dangerous. It closes on people so you can potentially get injured from it. The steam room was out of use throughout the duration of stay, which is disappointing. Some staff were friendly and welcoming. However, other staff members were very rude and abrupt. The noise from the near by clubs are also so loud and doesnt end till past 12am.

A very tired hotel in the most perfect downtown location. We chose Hotel Central because of its location and the lovely photos online. Comments seemed good, too. But this is not 4-star western luxury. If you are lucky enough to get one of the rooms depicted in Central's online photos, congratulations! This is our story about Room 606, which should never be rented to anyone ever again. When we arrived for our four-night stay, we received Room 606: an absolute crapshow of a room. 606 has an upstairs loft area that is hot and cramped and downright impossible to navigate to/from the downstairs bathroom in the middle of the night. The air circulation (can't really call it A/C because it never did the cooling part) keeps the upstairs nice and stuffy. The one window in this room is actually not _in_ this room but instead positioned between the upstairs and downstairs - so it cannot be looked out nor opened/closed for ventilation unless you are standing on the tub ledge in the bathroom (see photo). Other details: physical lock (not the electronic key-controlled locking mechanism) on the main door did not work because the knob was missing. Everything about the desk in the room was ill-fitting, as if it had been dropped and reassembled poorly. The leather couch was devoid of stuffing and very dirty. Carpet did not appear to have been vacuumed in recent years as there was visible dust outside of the traffic patterns. Velux skylight opened but electronic shade did not function. Bath was dark, and previously mentioned window was located in the shower area - window also did not securely close and had no window coverings (but the broken shade frame was still there - lucky us). Hand-held shower head could not be attached to the bar because the bracket was missing. Overall smell of the room was one of staleness, not cleanliness. Upon seeing our room, we went back to the front desk to plead for a room change. A different room was available, but only for one night, then we'd need to move back to 606 - truly disappointing. We toughed it out for one night and went on the hunt for a new hotel first thing in the morning. Happiness was found at Hotel Sahat down the street: a much better, cleaner room (with windows!!) for two-thirds the price. We packed up and told the front desk we were leaving. To Central's credit, they did not charge a cancellation penalty and only charged us for the one night we were there. For this, we appreciate their understanding. Again, if you get a nice room at Central that looks like their photos, consider yourself lucky and enjoy your stay. If not, the fine folks at Hotel Sahat may be able to rescue you as well. Good luck.

The only good things about this hotel is people who work there they are nice, smiling all the time and try to help as much as they can. Otherwise the hotel in a big mess. The rooms is very old and bad maintain. We came during the hot season, the air conditioner in our room had a problem and temperature in the room was 30 degrees, so we spend our first night in sauna, also we were obliged to slep on the floor, under the fan, to get at least little bit of fresh air. The was no window in the room, only small one in the roof which we could not open. However next day we get another room, but air condition was not working there properly also, we were not able to control the temperature in the room. Also they was promised to give us discount for the inconvenience during our stay, which we didn’t ask, but when we saw 8€ discounts in our final bill it was like insult for us, I wish they charged us on full. They said that hotel has a spa. But only 1 sauna out of 3 is working, also the jacuzzi and water jet in swimming pull was not working. The breakfast had poor variety and food was cold all the time because they never covered egg and sausages. Also the towels were torn and there were yellow stains on the walls I guess from the rain. The hotel needs major renovation otherwise I will not recommend to stay here.
