I really enjoyed staying at the hotel Centrale Byron as the reception staff was very welcoming, helpful and multilingual. Even the cleaning lady was cheerful which made me feelvery welcome.|The hotel’s location in the historic city centre is perfect for exploring the sights, shopping and eating out (the mercato coperto with its bars & restaurants is just around the corner). The train station is a 8-10min walk away.|The room was practical & convenient: the furniture was not the most modern but well maintained and there was a desk, a fridge, a haidryer and a small tv.|The bath room was tiny and I had to wiggle around the door to reach the sink. But everything was sparkling clean.|My single room had a proper small single bed — something I only know from Italy. I slept well, though. The only thing that was a bit negative was that you could hear your room neighbours through the walls.|Breakfast was served with a choice if cereals, jams, cold cuts & cheeses, breads and croissants as well as real Italian café prepared freshly.

This hotel is well located, to be sure. That's pretty much where it ends. We were in Room 12, which faces into an open courtyard surrounded by walls up to 4 or 5 stories tall. We were there in October. There are stairs after every elevator stop to the rooms. The bathroom we had did not have a walk in shower - I do not know if any are available. Hotels with air conditioning tend to shut it off after the summer, at least for the evening. That's just what happened. It was hot and humid when we were there, and because the air conditioning (which did NOT work all that well anyway...) was shut off, we opened the windows. MISTAKE. There is a restaurant whose backdoor is right in the echo tunnel of the open courtyard. Needless to say, this NOISE goes on until around 11:30 or so. Just because a restaurant is closed does not mean there are not employees still there setting up for the next day and/or cleaning things up from the latest shift. On our second night there, I heard someone banging very loudly on their window (which also faced the same way ours did) for the noise to stop. If a hotel is not going to run the air conditioning, and the only way to sleep is to open the windows, NOISE should not be a factor. Evidently it is also a factor with street facing rooms (ours was not). The breakfast is not very good. NO selection of anything hot. They will bring out cheese and deli meats if you ask, but if you don't know to ask, you don't get them. We knew because we watched it happen on our second day. I complained about the noise/lack of air conditioning/no remedy to no avail, except a meager 8 Euro discount on the room???? Really???? We found the breaksfast staff to be very nice and the housekeeping staff to be very nice as well. We did not have as much luck with the front of the house staff.

Our hotel room and en suite bathroom were large and clean. The shower was large and had plenty of hot water and water pressure. The bed and pillows were comfortable. The room and common areas are dated. The staff here is exceptionally helpful and friendly.

Our only issue was the air conditioning would not work. They came to set it but it did not work after that. Nice location, good breakfast.

Location of the hotel is really good with restaurants within easy reach. We felt safe walking around this area. Train station is within walking distance. The room we had was excellent for the price we paid. It was quiet, clean and the AC worked well (unlike another supposedly 4 star hotel we stayed in Ravenna). The hotel is family owned and the service was very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was included. We were very happy with our stay. Highly recommended.

Lord Byron, presumably staying in other houses at Ravenna, maybe would have raised an eyebrow .. the furniture and wall paintings are enchantingly old-fashioned, something that could be exposed in a design museum as a swirling mix of the Fifties and the Seventies. Rooms are not to small and very clean and so is the bathroom. The staff is extremely friendly and will make your dive into the past very pleasant Italian style breakfast: rather poor; if you are late, you get the famous "Brioches in the sack". But! the view from the breakfast room .. directly on the narrow Italian street, with cars blocking each other and people shouting ... would make moviemakers happy.

Most things about this hotel were excellent. A nice, clean room. Central location. A very very good breakfast. But no A/C. And this was the year of heat waves. I slept with the windows open which led to two issues: 1. Mosquitoes. 2. Street noise. Eventually the cafes and bars closed and things quieted down. But the mosquitoes persisted.

Small hotel, old fashioned in a way but for the price you pay you get value for money.|The hotel in metres away from the squire in Ravanna and less then 10 mins walk from the main train station. The room we had was on the small size at the top of the hotel. The lift goes up 3 flights and you have to carry your bags up about 12 stairs to get to your floor. The air con in the room was a blessing on a hot August night. We were at the back of the hotel so no street noise. Breakfast was continental style with plenty af choice. All in all for the price, the location and the friendly staff value for money.
