Ceres Am Meer (Binz, Rugen) Verified Reviews | Tablet Hotels

"The advent of air travel is enough to make one indulge in a bit of nostalgic worry for the resorts along the Baltic Sea, places which must necessarily have seen some decline in attendance now that it’s half a day’s flight from Munich to the Maldives. The island of Rügen, however, is still going strong, positioned just off the coast of northeastern Germany, and while some of the appeal is historical, it’s by no means purely a retro trip, as evidenced by the swanky, subtly modern Cerês am Meer." - Tablet Hotels

This is one of the most beautiful hotels I've been in. The location of the hotel really captures the ocean and atmosphere of a small beach town. I went in the winter time so not many travelers and it felt like i was in a book. The breakfast could be much better but otherwise cant complain about much else. The bed is super comfortable as well.

Hotel Cerês am Meer is a luxurious and exclusive oceanfront 5 star design hotel in Binz on the Rugen lsland. This 48 room exclusive has a spa area, a sauna (closed due to Corona), a small pool, a rooftop terrace, a cosy lounge , but unfortunately no gym. It’s actually said to be the most beautiful design hotel on the Rugen island. The cupola on top of the hotel has also been converted into a room, which we unfortunately are unable to view, since it’s occupied. I particularly like the massive silver vases with beautiful autumn leaves in the lobby as well as the restaurant. The rooms are clean and stylishly decorated with Gröncke lamps, a small Bang and Olufsen TV, a comfortable bed and nice bathroom area. We have an ocean view room with a balcony overlooking the main shopping street and from which we had a clear view of the pier situated right in front of the hotel. Unfortunately, it’s not all been a hunky dory experience, as breakfast, for us, has been a bit of a disappointment, probably due to Corona, since guests now have to decide on and preorder their breakfast the day before. Guests with intolerances, lactose or gluten, and vegetarians are however also well catered for here. However, the members of staff are very polite, nice and friendly and also speak English. All in all, our stay here has been a pleasant one.

Very modern and in stylish black most of the furniture and shelfs also in the bathroom black tiles, sometimes all a bit dark but looking good.|View very beautiful over the sea and seabridge. Otherwise the room was very warm, especially with the morning sun and only curtains to block the light.|The bathroom was comfortable with 2 sinks, sep. rainshower and WC but 2 more hooks on the wall would have been useful. That seems always the crux with designed rooms, good looking but not all practical. Must be a nightmare to clean the dark surfaces.|There is no coffee-machine nor waterboiler in the room, called "finest sea" with an upper price. |The balcony is small with 2 chairs a coffee-table but with a view. |The breakfast was included and it is a combination of small buffet and service. The staff was friendly but some seemed to be inexperienced, means some mishaps with the delivery of the desired food. We stayed 5 nights but despite being a smaller hotel, nobody did remember us, the day started always new.|There is room to improve but everything has exception so has the service here, especially the room staff was very friendly and good.|Some ideas to enhance the nice patio would be good to put it more to life.|

Design hotel in the Northern Germany. Considering the fact that it's a 5 stars hotel I would have expected a better English spoken by the employees working there. Good breakfast and small but beautiful swimming pool in the Spa area, ideal for relaxing but not big enough for swimming. Underground parking available. I would suggest to install more plugs in the rooms to plug in electronic devices. Air conditioning in the room was available only with a mobile air conditioning device.

We stayed for two nights at the Ceres Hotel with our dog. It was listed in the Wallpaper guide to Berlin as a great place for a short break. It is typical of many hotels you will find on designhotels.com and is no doubt popular with a certain audience. We liked it for its great, friendly service, underground parking and plush rooms. Overall the decor is a bit hard and over styled though (lots of black wood and chrome) which makes it feel formal rather than comfortable. Strangely our room didn't have air conditioning either which meant we slept with the balcony door open to avoid being too hot. Do stay here if you are planning a trip to Binz but don't go out of your way, as we did, to do so.

Absolute perfection! (Just keep in mind to avoid deception that there is no air-condition and there are still today some people smoking on balconies and in outside areas. This really should be forbidden if these mentally troubled people are unable to behave by themselves)

Beautifully located on a central plaza with a perfect view of the sea, the Ceres hotel is supposed to be one of the best accommodations on the island of Rügen. Indeed, architecturally and design-wise the hotel fulfills these expectations. We booked a tower suite with a wonderful, panoramic view. After check-in we noticed that our room did not have a balcony in contrast to virtually every other room in the hotel. We asked to switch rooms and that request was fulfilled immediately by moving us to an identical suite with balcony. On our first evening we had dinner at the hotel restaurant, which was very nice and offered appropriate quality for the price. The overly relaxed service could be an issue for some, but we didn‘t mind. The spa area is small but beautiful with 4 different saunas. So much for the good parts.||Beginning with check-in the flaws in service quality started to show. We had to wait 20min for our room to be ready (the originally booked one) and instead of offering us a place to sit or a drink, we were sent away, which did not feel really welcoming. Unfortunately the room itself was plain dirty, something we have never seen in 5-star hotels around the world. The floor was covered in dog hair, the cupboards in dust and the windows in spider webs. As an allergic that is an issue for me, and one I didn‘t have anywhere else before. Breakfast on Sunday then really showed the lack of professional organisation. We had to wait 30min for a simple black coffee. Ordering any warm dishes was simply not possible as we were completely ignored by the overwhelmed staff. ||I usually do not post negative reviews but prefer to tell the staff about issues directly. In this case though, the receptionist basically ignored all that. ||Unfortunately, if this is really the best Rügen has to offer, you should better look elsewhere for a relaxing stay at the Baltic sea.
