Hotel Cervetta 5 (Modena, Emilia Romagna) 2 Verified Reviews | Tablet Hotels

"Named for its address in the historic center of Modena, Hotel Cervetta 5 is a boutique hotel that combines the minimalist-luxe Italian furnishings you’d expect with eclectic décor that’s not afraid of a rough, handmade rustic edge. It’s a heritage building with no elevator, so requires guests with a facility for stairs. And while there’s a daily breakfast spread featuring fresh local pastries, in the grand tradition of European city-center boutique hotels, it goes without a restaurant of its own — Antica Trattoria Cervetta, no relation aside from its position on Via Cervetta, is right next door." - Tablet Hotels

Hotel Cervetta in Modena is a little gem with a truly welcoming atmosphere. The rooms are simple yet charming, perfectly clean, and in a great location just steps from the historic center. What really makes the stay unforgettable, though, is the service at the front desk. The staff is exceptional—warm, attentive, and genuinely helpful with every detail, from restaurant recommendations to arranging last-minute requests. That level of care makes you feel less like a guest and more like a friend being looked after.

I can’t imagine a better location in all Modena. Hotel Cervetta 5 is tucked just steps from the city’s most iconic piazza—close enough to be central, yet quiet enough to feel like a retreat.||After hours of wandering Modena’s beautiful cobblestone streets, I returned to a room that was a true delight. Spotlessly clean, thoughtfully designed, and remarkably comfortable—every detail felt intentional. I booked the most modest option: a single room with a twin bed and no view, and yet it felt warm, elegant, and welcoming. The bed was genuinely comfortable, and the room itself was so immaculately maintained, it’s clear the housekeeping team takes real pride in their work. You can feel it.||There’s always someone at the front desk to welcome you with kindness and professionalism, and if you arrive before your room is ready, your luggage will be stored safely and respectfully.||Hotel Cervetta 5 has that rare combination of great taste, quiet luxury, and heartfelt hospitality. I’m still here as I write this—and already certain I’d stay again in a heartbeat.

Great location and staff. That’s it. Our room was completely uncomfortable. Under the guys of the decor being shabby chic in fact, it was just in total disrepair. We had one chair in the room that was not safe to sit on. Some of the wall art consisted of a broken frame hanging at a weird angle and it seemed that wires for bar lightbulbs were considered part of the decor. We went there on the recommendation of the New York Times and again except for the location and the staff being helpful I just don’t see what the place has to offer.

it was a Nightmare. I used a website which glitched and booked two rooms for myself for the same night. I reached out to the site and the website refused to refund because the hotel already had the two identical reservations but offered to ask the hotel to rescind the reservation. We're talking about two hotel rooms, for the same person, by himself, booked at the same moment, for the same night... It is obviously an error. I'm not going to sleep in two different rooms on the same night. Mrs. Stefania refused to refund the duplicate room when I asked at the front desk the person they confirmed that they would not refund but she offered a 'free' room tomorrow night or free tax. Now I'm going to have to dispute the change. I'm regretting choosing this place. edit reply: so the thing about the booking website in the reply is absolutely not true. the booking website reached out and the manager refused to refund but they did cancel. the rooms were booked one after another not together and the manager was made aware it was a mistake but she's still trying to keep the money. I doubt my bank will see it her way but it sucks that I have to ask for a charge back. the hotel sure didn't seem full but again the reservation was cancelled so if the hotel was full they got to sell the room again after that's not the only false claim in the reply but I'm not going to go through it point by point. listen to the tone of the reply, that's the tone of the service you will get at this hotel. last part, the only way to shut the doors here is to slam them shut loudly. do you like the sound of slamming doors in your hotel. avoid this place

Booked the hotel for a one night stay|One of the most terrible experience|We got the direction to the hotel advising us not set a certain Piazza in the navigator, then we gave to (and this literally what stated in their message) turn right in the ninth street, and it continued this way|In few words we were totally lost. We ended setting the hotel address in the navigator |Then the big shock came when we met the Reception Staff . Both were so arrogant , rude and have no idea what customer service is about|Despite the fact that we pre-paid the hotel including all taxes, the same reception staff insisted that we pay taxes |It was a trouble stay |So DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY ON THIS HOTEL

This was our second visit to this charming small hotel in the heart of old Modena. Since our last visit, rather a few years ago, the style has changed to fashionable shabby chic. Not really our style, but all beautifully done with everything of the highest quality. Really great bed and bedding - so comfortable. And such a large room too, with every conceivable facility. |Nothing is too much trouble for the lovely staff who are on duty 24 hours. The garaging is brilliant and we were frequently in and out to get things from the car, which was no trouble at all |Last time we discovered that satnav does not always work that well in the narrow streets, and guests’ permission to drive in the centre of the city is limited to just one route. The hotel now give very clear instructions for entrance and exit, which was a great help. |Can more than recommend staying here if visiting lively Modena. There are, too, many good restaurants very close by - just a few steps away in some cases.

Bad experience. There is no elevator, nor offer of help for transporting luggage, the facilities seem cheaply decorated, and zero warmth from the staff, even before our booking discrepancy regarding the hotel being not pet friendly was discovered. The room was also unremarkable in the few minutes we spent in it before moving to a vastly nicer and more spacious hotel nearby. A bit of empathy and adequate training of the staff would've helped you avoid this review entirely. Documents aren't required for 1 year old babies (FYI that law was designed for counter terrorism... my toddler doesn't seem so threatening) and a driver's license is usually accepted for ID, as has been the case in the 50 or so other hotels I've visited in my 6 years living in Italy. Really sour experience. Go elsewhere!

We were in Modena for two nights at this hotel. The lobby smells very nice upon entry. There are many small decorating items in the lobby and in the rooms. Must be a nightmare to dust all these little decorative touches. We had two rooms one double and single. The rooms were very small. The bathrooms are tiny. Everything was clean, the linens, the towels. Hotel is well located. We would stay there again.
