Our stay at the hotel chalet Swiss was lovely. Evo was our hotel attendant and he was awesome. He provided us with clear instructions on how to move about the city and had great recommendations for activities while we were there. He was amazing and was so incredibly helpful. The hotel was close to the train station and to several chocolate shops. The only issue we ran into was that there was a window overlooking the other rooms adjacent to ours in our bathroom, and that was the only source of ventilation. There is no air conditioning at this spot so we had a bit of a soggy bathroom and we slept hot. Having the windows open at night helped but there was no bug screen either so we had to pick our battles on this one. Overall great experience and great service.

I stayed at this hotel for 5 nights with breakfast included. The location is great—just a 5–10 minute walk to Interlaken West station. There’s a Coop supermarket nearby and plenty of restaurants around the area. Although the hotel is a bit old, it has a charming Swiss-style atmosphere and is comfortable enough for a stay. The breakfast was very good—ham, omelets, boiled eggs, and delicious pastries. Overall, I found the price reasonable for what was offered. I would definitely consider staying here again if I return to Interlaken.

They do not provide the services described on the website. The rooms are old, shabby and smell like wet dogs. The Bar is closed because the manager refuses to hire someone to work it.|There was no laundry facilities at all. The elevator only goes to the 2nd floor, our room was on the 3rd. No assistance provided to haul our luggage up and down the stairs. Breakfast Buffet was only average. We agreed to pay the first night and asked the manager by phone to release us from the two remaining nights based on these issues. He very unreasonable, rude and said do not contact me again. He refused to come to the hotel to meet in person. We moved a few steps down the street to a wonderful hotel called Hotel Beausite for LESS per night! Don't make the same expensive mistake we did. Expedia and booking.com did not help.

"As I wrote in the comment book in the lobby > "I'm checking out today, the best part of my stay (occupant of room 343)". Room 343 has windows that open to overlook the dumpsters on the side of the building and the elevator shaft that only goes to the second floor. The shower stall is only about 2.5 feet squared and the sloped ceilings make it impossible to stand upright unless you're less than 3 feet tall. This is supposedly a 3-star hotel. It has a "bar" that serves bottled beer and liquor and is only staffed by the hotel receptionist when they aren't busy with other customers. There is no restaurant at the hotel. Parking is available for a daily fee. The only good things about this hotel were outward appearance and not being in the middle of the overcrowded streets closer to city center. The hotel caters to people from areas of the world that do not include North America. I booked directly with the hotel which usually translates to the best price. The cost of my room was 300CHF (Swiss Francs) per night. As you will see from the photos, it is not a highly desirable room. Our first evening there, we expressed our interest in getting a different (larger) room, but were told they were booked solid for my entire stay, yet my friend from India booked a superior room with a balcony on his "Booking.com" app for 225CHF/night during my stay. When I complained about the sloping ceiling in the room and how hot it was and the price I was paying for an inferior room, I received sympathetic "lip service" from the hotel staff and nothing more than a tiny and noisy fan to help cool the room."

Rooms are very good in size and come with an attached balcony. The room has a safe, hanger, 2 chairs and a small coffee table. Has place to keep the luggage. It's a 10 min walk away from the Interlaken West Train station. Service could be better. The breakfast isn't great and can be avoided.

Fantastic Interlaken Gem with Sauna Bliss! This hotel was an absolute delight! The location is superb, with a bus stop right opposite the station for easy access, and Interlaken West train station just a comfortable 10-12 minute walk away. And the views? Simply beautiful, especially waking up to the stunning scenery! The hotel itself boasts a gorgeous wooden design and interior that feels both warm and elegant. Our room was wonderfully spacious, with ample cabinets for storage – a huge plus for longer stays. The mattress was incredibly comfortable, and having a sofa with two chairs added a lovely touch of home. The only minor point is that the lift goes up to the 2nd floor, so if you're on the 3rd floor, you'll need to climb a flight of stairs. This wasn't a deal-breaker for us at all, though. Breakfast was a truly decent spread, offering a great variety: yogurts, dry fruits, nuts, jam, fresh fruits, various breads, hot and cold milk, muesli, corn flakes, boiled eggs, ham, beef salami, chicken sausages, juices, coffee, and hot chocolate. Plenty to fuel up for a day of exploring! A special mention must go to the complimentary one-hour sauna facility available from 6 PM to 10 PM. Pro tip: Reserve it as soon as you check in! After a long and cold day in the mountains, it was an incredibly relaxing experience. My wife, who had never experienced a sauna before, absolutely loved it – it was an awesome and memorable part of our stay! Highly recommend this hotel for anyone visiting Interlaken!

Do not book this hotel. They are deliberately misrepresenting the property. Rooms are old and shabby. The bar is closed. Onsite laundry does not exist. Rooms smelled of dogs. Breakfast was mediocre at best. I have seen better hostels. We spoke to the manager about these issues. We offered to pay for the first night and asked to be released from the next two. He was completely unwilling, rude and didn't even agree to meet face to face. Basically said do not contact him again. We payed in full, walked down the street and found a wonderful hotel FOR LESS per night. A very expensive mistake. Booking.com and Expedia did nothing to assist because it was a no cancel booking. We didn't want to cancel, we wanted only what we were allegedly paying for. If the property can not provide what they claim, then we should not be obliged to stay there.

Booked this hotel through booking.com as the rating was pretty good >8. Our travel time was june 2025. The location of the hotel is decent but the room was definitely bad. It was very old and not at all maintained. The temperature in Interlaken was around 30 C and this hotel has no air-conditioning and the bathroom has a musty smell. The breakfast is extremely basic. Would never stay here again or recommend this to anyone extremely expensive for the facilities offered

Yelp
This would be our second visit to the Hotel Swiss Chalet, our first time was 15 years ago. This time we brought a group of 41 friends with us and no one was disappointed. This family owned Hotel was just as we left it only with new mattresses and Duvets. We wanted the "Chalet" feel travelling from USA to Switzerland and this little hotel does not disappoint. Friendly family service, Clean rooms, a decent breakfast in the morning (included) and an "anything we can do for you" attitude. Thank you!
