At check-in, staff were both warm and professional. When asked why we were traveling, I mentioned an upcoming birthday. Rhyanna deftly noted it and handled our welcome. Hotel Champlain has been a big part of a pleasant stay in Vermont. The rooms are clean and nicely appointed. The bed is very comfortable and we rest even better than at home. The location is within easy reach of so many interesting sites. After a day out learning about the history of the area, we returned to discover a nice note from concierge Shristi with a bit of bubbly and some wonderful sweet treats on a chilled platter. The hotel personnel joined us in marking a significant birthday by preparing a surprise! Thank you for passing along the information, Rhyanna. My wife and I enjoyed celebrating the occasion together with your gifts. Our thanks to Shristi and all involved in preparing that treat for us, too. You folks are wonderful.

This hotel was great! Location was a huge plus, as was the free on-site parking. Walkable to Lake Champlain paths and parks and there are lots of good places to eat. Staff was friendly and accommodating. I had a lake-view room and it was picturesque. Beds were comfortable, the room was clean, blinds/curtains kept out 95% of the light, and even though my room was near the elevator it was relatively quiet. The on-site restaurant was pricey with $4 oysters, but they were fresh and delicious. Lots of local beer on tap. I would stay here again for sure.

One of the best hotels Ive ever stayed at. They have sparkling and still water dispensers.......I love sparkling water. First hotel I ever seen that at.the rooms were spacious and very quiet, granted I chose the top floor where it is the most quiet, but it had a wonderful view of the lake too. Woman at the front desk was very kind, and had a great smile, she was built for customer service.

We just spent a 2 night stay in Burlington, Vt. The location of the hotel is a +. Had drinks and snacks during happy hour and the Original Skiff at the hotel. Prices were good and snacks were plenty. |The room we had was nice and clean, the only downside is the sofa bed while comfortable, when it is open, space is a bit tight on that side of the room. |The staff were very helpful and friendly and made suggestions of things to do, places to eat in the area. Nice place to stay~

We stayed 2 nights while in Burlington and had a good stay. The hotel is modern and clean with a restaurant and a cafe/ coffee shop. The room was comfortable although the bathroom was very small for a higher end hotel. You park in a parking garage that is attaches to the property. We walked down to the park and lake So there are walkable things from the hotel. All in all a good stay

We had an amazing experience at Hotel Champlain. Staff was very courteous and went out of the way to help. Hotel’s location is absolutely stunning. We had unobstructed views of the lake. We bought bed and breakfast package, highly recommend. Breakfast was amazing.

I had a farewell brunch following our granddaughter’s wedding at the Echo Center on Saturday. Joseph, the Banquet Manager and his staff did an outstanding job in keeping all our guests happy. They were very attentive to everyone’s needs…keep the buffet full at all times and tables clean. Everyone left happy as did my husband and I.

I have stayed here three times in the last five years (not by my choice) and each time it has been terrible. It is probably the worst Hilton property in the U.S. 1. It is dirty. Dark carpet doesn't hide the lack of cleanliness like the owners of the hotel must think that it does. Why else would they have the same dark and dirty carpet for years? 2. The parking is not secure nor free. 3. It is loud. Music from a wedding and a bar mitzvah on the first floor is playing so loudly that it can be heard on the fourth floor. 4. There are not in-room coffee makers. Instead, there are "coffee bars" on each floor. Fine, except those coffee bar machines are displaying "filter needs cleaning" messages and the coffee that comes out is best described as tepid instant coffee. 5. In short, don't stay here unless you don't have a choice.

Yelp
We loved our stay here! First thing is the location, it was perfect! Right on the waterfront, everything was so close and walkable, we didn't have a car so we loved being able to walk to the water, church st, all kinds of restaurants and parks. We were greeted by Brandon as checking in, we got there early and they held our bags so we could go explore till our room was ready, some one called soon after to let us know our room was ready. Every employee we encountered was super friendly and professional. Our room was very nice and comfortable, I love a modern room and even though you could tell this was an older hotel it has been renovated and updated, the beds were comfy and the shower felt great, the view of lake Champlain was beautiful!! We really enjoyed sitting in our room looking out on the lake and mountains! The mezzanine level was everything for me, beautiful neutral colors, natural sunlight and plants everywhere!! Heart Eyes!! They had a cafe there which was actually really good, we ate here a few times, Loved it!! Definitely a place I would like to hang out at. The coffee and water stations on each floor were a nice touch also, we saved water bottles and just walked over there to refill them up then put them in our mini fridge in room( fridge is inside the dresser) this is very appreciated cause I'm always thirsty on vacation. Highly recommend! 5 stars!

Yelp
We travel to Burlington 2 or 3 times a year because our daughter is a college student there. We've chosen this hotel more times than others in the past because the parking convenience and proximity to Lake Champlain offset the dated, dark rooms and tiny bathrooms. Before we arrived this trip I replied to the hotel's welcome text that we needed extra pillows, but got no response. Then I submitted the request in the chat function of the Hilton app. Got no reply. We always self-park at this hotel, and we were disappointed to find dozens of parking spaces where we typically park blocked off. The Hilton rep at the front desk told me that she did not know why the spaces were unavailable. The next morning a city employee told me the spaces were blocked to clean the garage floor. How is it that a Curio Collection hotel doesn't have that information about its adjoining garage ready to warn arriving customers? The drain in our bathroom sink was clogged and slow draining. Our hot water was interrupted for half an hour one morning. Several times when we tried to use an elevator we had to push the call buttons constantly to call the elevator to our floor. The morning we departed, we got on the elevator after waiting 5-7 minutes for it to respond and we had to push buttons repeatedly before the elevator started down. It started down and immediately stopped. We had to push and hold buttons before it started moving again. Our previous stay at Hotel Champlain in May 2024 was marred by a bathroom shower drain that backed up. And we could not turn on a wash basin light at any time until we pushed a reset button on an electric plug above the sink first. Looking back now, this seems to be a recurring pattern of problems. We've watched Hilton make many attractive cosmetic upgrades to the common areas of the hotel the past couple of years but we wonder if it has sacrificed other aspects of hospitality.

Yelp
Some good and some bad about my experience here. I stayed for a work training conference and I had no say so in any of the travel arrangements. When I checking in I arrived I was early so I wasn't able to check in. I put my name on a list and was told my room would be ready by 4 so I went to lunch. When I got back the room wasn't quite ready. They have a happy hour in the lobby that they call Hops and Harvest with free beer and charcuterie, so I indulged while waiting. I walked around and saw this hotel amenities. Nice gym, indoor pool, hot tub, but no restaurant. They were under construction so the hotel restaurant and bar were closed. They do however set up a grab and go in the lobby for breakfast and dinner but everything is prepared and cold. My room was nice a King sized with a lake view. The view is quite impressive. It was enough space for one person. No mini fridge and no microwave. The water pressure was great and the water gets hot quickly. No coffee maker in the room but they have a self service station on every floor. The noise from the construction was a bit unbearable at times several morning I was awakened to tractor trailers backing up and jackhammering. They do have a $100 dollar day incidentals hold. They said it would come off after checking out if I didn't incur any other charges. Overall not the greatest stay but not the worst.

Katie H.

Yelp
Any hotel should have to disclose upon booking that it is under construction. No bar. No restaurant. With that said. Excellent staff, great location, close proximity to church street and lake Champlain. They really should advise people they are under construction but would return to the location once renovations are complete.

Yelp
Was here for a wedding this past weekend and it was relatively great overall, but here's the problem, if your wait staff at a function wants to leave early, you don't do that by taking just received drinks off of a table when people get up to dance, this happened not once but 3 times.... full beers, full glasses fresh from the bar, scooped up and tossed away... or is this the way to get people to spend more at your bar? This is unethical and should warrant a class action suit if this has happened to other patrons... Oh don't worry, this very same review will go onto other platforms that people read when choosing a location...

Yelp
So check this out, I don't like the Hilton Brand. I'm a HH Lifetime Dimond Member, I'm also a HGV owner, I have over 2000 stays with Hilton proper but again I don't like the Hilton Brand. Like this hotel, most Hilton's are old, not remolded and they charge you for everything. You usually have to pay for parking, food, drinks and they never have anything good in the little store. The Hilton Garden Inn, Hampton Inn and even the cookies bay the Double Tree make your stay a better adventure then most Hiltons. This Hotel is old, it needs to be remodeled and the parking sucks. However, the hat makes this place deserve each and every one of the five stars I gave them is the customer service. From the kid in the parking garage, the girl at the front desk and the manager at the front desk again, they are the reasons behind the five stars. The bartender and the girl passing out free beer up on the mezzanine also made this particular visit a five star night. Good job team Hilton, again I'm nit a big fan of your brand but you guys hit this one out of the park!

Lori D.

Yelp
Hard to actually assign a star rating to a hotel that is under construction....but read on to hear me out... Had to book a last min hotel for a business trip. Looked a all the hotels in the area, and being a HH member, why would I choose a Double Tree or Hampton over a Hilton overlooking Lake Champlain? Well, this hotel was under $100/night and looked perfect for my location. Little did I know when I arrived at the hotel, the whole place is under construction, doing a complete renovation. My first thought, YIKES! I parked in the garage, only to find out the elevator was broken and had to walk up 3 floors with my luggage to the makeshift entrance. I was greeted by the sweetest gentleman....Jacob, the Valet Manager. He took my bags and walked me into the lobby. I checked in, received vouchers for food/drink each day (limited options but still).... Happy hour from 4-7 nightly with complimentary beer, charcuterie and pretzels. Very nice! I wanted more for dinner than their limited menu offered and it was too cold for me to walk anywhere. I wound up doing Grub Hub from a local Thai place. After about 45 min I received a call from the driver that he was having difficulty locating me. After handing my phone to the front desk manager, being yelled at by the driver, hung up on, called back, handed my phone to the Valet Manager who discovered the driver was at the Marriott across the street. He hung up and told me he would run across and pick it up for me. He even recognized me the following day, took the time to say hello and walk me from the parking garage inside. Seriously, I am in the service industry and rarely do I experience this level of service anymore. Jacob, you are a gem and they are lucky to have you. My room was small but clean and comfortable. Actually, the bed was insane and best nights sleep I've had in a while. It looks like all the renovations will really make this a great spot. The gym and pool area look good. My biggest complaint, seriously, is the scent of the air freshener in the lobby area. It is wayyyy overpowering and a bit nauseating. Cut it back. Your customers will thank you. Thank you for the incredible service. Looking forward to coming back.

Nanci M.

Yelp
The hotel is just finishing up renovations. Our room was very nice. The staff was quite friendly and helpful. The location is nice on the lake and very close to everything downtown. We enjoyed walking from there to explore.

Yelp
My daughters and I were so excited to splurge on this trip by staying at the Hilton Burlington. While the location is unparalleled and the staff is absolutely lovely, this is not up to usual Hilton chain standards on the little things that make a difference. There is no vent for the shower area, leaving the room stuffy and humid by the end of a shower. The shower takes quite awhile because the water pressure is so low. Now that there's been a second shower, it's feeling a bit like a rainforest. And rather than fitted sheets, there is just a flat sheet tucked under the mattress (on one side--it doesn't quite reach the other). But the time one person turns in the bed, the sheets are pulled up jumbled. General Hilton policies have turned me off versus other options. Endless little charges--parking, resort fee, breakfast ($10 voucher gets you nowhere at any hotel)... it wound up adding almost a third more to the bill I was expecting. Truly not earth shattering problems, but when paying a premium for a room, these shouldn't be issues. This was massively overpriced for the actual experience.

E V.

Yelp
Worst stay I've had a Hilton hotel... Top floor rooms smell musty, they are dark and dank. Construction closed the restaurant and the quick service bar was out of everything. They had the Vermont Congress on the same weekend as UVM graduation! I was ripped off! Stay anywhere but here. I'm trying to get a refund but won't hold my breath.

Yelp
Apologies for the delayed post. In early November I made my first trip to Vermont and Burlington for that matter. Came up to see my bf's son in a play. We booked this hotel bc it was close to everything (playhouse, waterfront, restaurants and shopping) we could walk just about everywhere. We arrived a lil early 3:00 pm. We were hoping for an early check in but they couldn't accommodate us and we did have to wait way past 4 pm. Initially that was ok as they did let us park in the lot and we just went exploring for about an hour or so. But when it was getting close to 5 & we had dinner reservations we got a bit panicked. When we finally got our room and we had a room facing the river, however, it was less than ideal. Why you may be asking - well as we tried to take in the great window view we could hear the wind howling and feel the draft. That's when we noticed that our lovely big picturesque window was somewhat held together by black tape and if we were to lean on it I'm pretty sure the window would have fallen out. We went downstairs to tell them of the issue and their response was that the hotel was fully booked and that they couldn't provide us with another room. I mean pretty much shrugged us off like you have a room what's the problem. Two things: why would you offer a room that has a hazardous liability and secondly not even offering so much as an apology or extending some sort of assurance/or discount to the faulty room? Two stars because the view was beautiful when we weren't hearing the howling wind/rains and the bed was comfy. For a Hilton hotel I totally expected much better. Sounds like I'm not alone based on other reviews.

Yelp
When we arrived at Hilton Burlington Lake Champlain on Thursday around 5pm, none of their staff offered to help with luggage. We were surprised that our room was not ready. It was nice that they provided self-park at the hotel. Brandon helped us check in. Prior to booking, we requested for two connecting rooms but they weren't able to grant that request. He originally gave us two rooms on different floors (e.g., 339 and 533). It wasn't until we requested again to be on the same floor that he moved us to be on the same floor (e.g., 537 and 533). I didn't like how he didn't tell us it would be a handicapped accessible room that was near the elevator. The room had a nice view of Lake Champlain. It was comfy and spacious. However some of the lights did not work. It was nice that each floor had an area to fill your bottle with still or sparkling water or grab a cup of coffee and/or tea. He mentioned that Gold and Diamond members have a choice of 1,000 points or $15 credit off the bill, but at check out, there was no deduction. We did receive $25 food and beverage credit. However, if we knew that Lakeside Cafe was closed for a private event the next morning, we would have had drinks at Beacon Bar & Grill that night. Since we didn't want our food and beverage credit to go to waste, we did Grab and Go breakfast. For food, you could select from warm breakfast sandwiches ($10 Bacon Egg and Cheese Sandwich, $10 Sausage Egg and Cheese Sandwich, $9 Veggie Burrito), $5 Bagels (e.g., Plain, Everything, Asiago), and $6 Pastries (e.g., croissant, chocolate croissant, cinnamon roll, blueberry danish, and/or raisin scone). For drinks, you could get a hot/cold caffeinated beverage or bottled assorted juices. I asked them if they could heat my blueberry danish but they said they could not. I ended up having a bitter iced Matcha latte and a stale blueberry danish.

Yelp
First time in Burlington and we wanted to make our longtime anniversary very special so we booked this location to be within walking distance. Got to the property early and they gave us pool keys to use while our room was getting ready. Moraima helped us by getting us an amazing room with a beautiful view of the lake. She and Dean both gave us things to do and restaurants to go to. Amazing stay! Thank you for making our night so special.

Russell W.

Yelp
NYC pricing and seemingly low demand while we were there. Short summary, I wouldn't stay here again. Too expensive, and the location that initially seemed advantageous didn't seem all that significant. We had no issue walking around place to place. They did have some loaner bicycles you could borrow, so there was that at least. We just thought it would be nicer. The room was smaller than normal, had no towel hangers, no room service unless you specifically request it, and the advertised refrigerator was the smallest mini fridge (with no freezer) that I've ever seen. It barely fit two four packs. The small items you normally expect also seemed missing, other than hand soap, etc. No bottled water, no pad/pen, no pamphlets, no room service card, no laundry bag. Maybe somewhat COVID related? Who knows. There was an area in the hall with a water dispenser, coffee machine, tea, etc. That's a pretty nice feature, and more useful than those tiny K-cup coffee makers most hotels have. The shower was fine. Their hotel brand shampoo and shower gel smelled really nice, but didn't really lather, so I was glad I brought my own. The building also had a very irritating lobby/garage/entrance layout that made going to the car initially confusing and annoying. Parking is $16 a night, but the gates were open all weekend. "Oh, the parking is free, just not overnight." Yeah, but if it's not the hotel's garage, the gates are open when I need them to be, cars aren't marked in any way that someone could tell who did or didn't pay, and the hotel didn't take my plates, I don't see how anyone would tell if someone paid or not. Seems like a cash grab. All that for a view that's very readily available for anyone else who's willing to walk to the widely accessible shore/shore path. The hotel also doesn't really offer viewing areas from anywhere other than certain rooms so far as I could tell.

Michael R.

Yelp
Avoid. Burlington VT was a great pick for the weekend, and we had a wonderful time, but this Hilton did nothing to accentuate the experience. It is located in a good part of town, but that is about the only redeeming quality. We booked a couple of nights here using points and an American express voucher, which entitle you to a standard room. As a diamond member, I was hoping for an upgrade to a room with a view of the lake. Checkin was efficient, but one of the coolest receptions I've ever had at a Hilton. No smiles, no welcomes, etc... I asked about an upgrade and was told there was no availability. Oh well, that is how it goes sometimes. The hotel did not seem that busy however, it's November and so I did check the Hilton app once I got to my room and saw that lake view rooms were in fact available. I wasn't up for an argument, but let's just say I'm very very disappointed in Hilton. It was hard for me to believe that a hotel of this size did not have any of their lake view rooms available. Parking is $16 a night, and there are a number of little niggling fees that are added to the bill. Breakfast used to be a great thing at Hilton hotels, and this hotel tried, but I fault Hilton for replacing the free breakfast with a $12 credit. I challenge you to try and get coffee, juice and something to eat for 12 bucks in any hotel. Hilton believes that this model gives you more flexibility, but make it a choice, a nice breakfast for those who want it, or the cash for those who want the flexibility. The room itself was clean, but smaller than I expected. It looked recently redone, but very dark wall coverings combined with low voltage lighting makes for a dark and depressing space. We were told we had a city view, see photo. The bathroom had a sewer like smell coming from the drain in the floor and the sink. Adding water helped, but the odor would return. I see other reviews complaining of the same issue. On the positive side, the room did have a safe (but the battery was dead), and a refrigerator, but so small that it won't hold a standard water bottle unless you put it on an angle. Rooms are spartan, no coffee maker, but it did have a TV that worked. While not the worst hotel I've ever stayed at, for the money you could do so much better. This stay is making me question my loyalty to the Hilton brand, especially if I was lied to at checkin. I do not recommend this hotel.

Lisa S.

Yelp
Update: changed from 1 star to 3 stars because we asked for the hotel manager and she instantly looked and saw the lake view room was available and switched us to it. She also refunded our points and money. She was extremely nice and professional. Made reservations and checked in on the phone on the drive in to Burlington. Checked in to a king suite with a lake view. When we arrived we were "upgraded" to a king suite overlooking a parking garage. We called down and were told they would switch us to the king overlooking the lake and went down to switch keys. Ajit helped us and told us there were no rooms overlooking the lake available. We checked online and Yep! King with lake view still available! Ajit said it's wrong, the site we checked in to was wrong, and the girl that told us we could switch to the lake view room were all wrong. The girl who said we could switch came over, got on his computer and showed him the room and he said no. My husband travels for work, is a Hilton Diamond member, and stays at Hilton properties almost exclusively. He's going to happily switch his 150+ days a year to Marriott.

Marshall W.

Yelp
NOT A HAPPY CAMPER This place is wayyyy overpriced for the value you currently get. Stayed in the king size lake view room, the view was good, but that was the only thing. The room itself was very strangely set up which made it feel small. Bathroom felt like it was a closet. To make matters worse the place is currently under construction, obviously noise (which there was a lot of and early in the morning) can't be helped. But you would think they would at least have signs to show where they had moved the front desk to, Was quite confusing trying to check out in the morning.

Katie H.

Yelp
This is not what I expected..... construction no bar or restaurant..... hey they tried with the managers reception...a plate of cheese and one keg. This place sucks the people are great but this is far from a Hilton

Patrick B.

Yelp
A Wonderful Experience This Trip , Checked in online - Seemless , Went to front desk to get a hard key card for pool ‍ access so we didn't have to bring our phones . Desk staff was Very Professional and Friendly. We Received A Coupon for $10.00 off Breakfast ( Grab & Go ) which we didn't use . We also were given the code word " Welcome Reception " for a free drink at the bar , a nice selection of beer , wine , drinks . We had one each , Bartender was Kind and Funny ! Pool and Hot Tub are excellent all jets working! Plenty of Large Soft Pool Towels Covered Parking is a Hugh Plus Especially in Winter months TIP - If you like Quiet and Easy access to Your Room , ask for Mezzanine level there are 12 rooms near Pool - Where you can walk directly from Parking Garage down a short hallway to your room , we chose one of the rooms not on the pool deck it was wonderful!

Vicky F.

Yelp
Don't stay here if you are traveling for work. I made a reservation online before they changed to the Hotel Champlain. The confirmation of my reservation outlined the total cost. They are now charging additional exorbitant fees that I won't get reimbursed for. And they never updated me on these fees. Terrible customer service and just all around bad way to treat people. Stay elsewhere.

Kelley B.

Yelp
Great location. We started our vacation at the Hotel Vermont and ended here. The Hilton is much more reasonably priced for a room that is slightly bigger. Very clean room. Quality coffee and water battle fill stations offered in front of the elevators. They renovations are nice. Was a little bummed that their restaurant was closed which meant we couldn't order anything to go and take it to our room. But it wasn't a dealbreaker since we could go next door to get stuff if we needed. Hint: ask for a corner room which allows you to have windows on two sides.

Glenn C.

Yelp
Location was awesome - being close to the lake. Price was outrageous. They were charging around $600 a night. I luckily had Hilton points and paid 60000 a night which is a lot but well worth it. All the hotels around were booked because visitors came to see the leaves changing colors including me and my wife. Being a Hilton gold we received $12 a piece to buy breakfast at the bar. They had some egg sandwiches, yogurt parfaits, bagels, scones and muffins, milk, juice and cider from one of the places we visited. Prices weren't outrageous or cheap. Luckily 1 morning the person discounted the muffins and scones so we bought some for later. I didn't take any pictures because there was nothing exceptional. Parking was $16 a night in their garage. They offered free bicycles for 2 hours stints. Unfortunately you couldn't reserve and they were being repaired during our visit. They only had 1 until our last morning. One doesn't work for my spouse and I. Everyone in town was booked. We eventually found a bikeshare place but couldn't figure the app out. No wonder all the bikes were there. I wish the hotel told us about the bike share. The pool was average along with a hot tub - long and narrow; very unusual. We didn't use them. The workout room had a few weights and exercise equipment (treadmill, elyptical). I expected more. Lounge is permanently closed. No coffee pots in rooms. They have an area by room 28 on each floor where you can get coffee, tea or water (hot chocolate or cider). Ice was only available in a freezer in that area. It was often out. Kind of a waste that it was in ice bags so you had to waste a bag to get a few ice cubes. I understand covid and no ice machines. Staff was nice. You had to request maid service each day otherwise it didn't happen. Room was very small! The 1 bed was the size of a full with minimal room to walk around. One small chair and table against the window. No desk. There wouldn't be a place to put it. Our view was of the parking garage. You had to pay even more for a lake view. The bar had some food you could order in the evening. We liked the giant fire pit outside with chairs all around it. We sat their 2 nights and spoke to other guests. You could buy smores kits from the bar.

Colin S.

Yelp
$500 per night and all we get is cold showers and this euphemism for "we might know more in two days."

Stephanie L.

Yelp
I'm surprised at the bad reviews for this place. I had a wonderful stay here. The rooms was spacious and clean. I had the most beautiful view of the lake and mountains with views of the sunset at night. On the floor there is a communal coffee bar with filtered water and tea. The coffee machine even ground beans fresh which was so nice. On the mezzanine floor there is corn hole outside. There was also tons of parking spaces in the garage and I had no trouble finding it. The location is great, walkable to the main area and very safe.

Mark B.

Yelp
Always a pleasure to return to this Hilton. Although we live right nearby now - at least by Vermont standards - we do still stay here for events, like the Brewers Festival, where we don't want to drive home afterwards. The property has recently been renovated and refreshed, with new carpeting in the lobby area and other tweaks. Staff were friendly and prompt as can be for services like checking in. The room was clean, and the bed comfy. Only major disappoint for being an actual Hilton was the lack of a small in room refrigerator. That's becoming standard and is in many other brands of Hilton. Generally not a problem but for some reason ice makers were also hard to come by. You definitely want to try for the lake view over the city view. Especially right now, as the tragic saga of Burlington's "Big Hole" continues for the moment, leaving you likely with a view of bad urban planning. Theoretically in a year or two from this review it'll be a nice skyline again.

Brittany W.

Yelp
Stayed here in an emergency last night because a bat was in my apartment. I paid $500 as a Hilton Diamond member and only came here because it was my only option to be able to get some rest after the run in at home. I tried to get a late check out to no avail. Never received any information about breakfast. I effectively paid them for 6 hours of sleep. Granted I was panicked, but wow talk about service.

Yelp
Pay for Valet Parking and get a Parking Ticket.......Really, Hilton??? Just completed a two night stay with our car dropped off with the Hotel Valet. After we departed the hotel, we noticed a small green envelope hidden under our windshield wiper from Parking Services for a parking ticket, "Time Limited - Meter Expired" with a $15 fine on it. Not sure where our Valet parked our car, but apparently it wasn't in the secure Valet only part of the parking garage I thought it was in. Emailed a copy of the ticket to the hotel who said they'd resolve this.........still waiting.

Yelp
Libby G Nightmare at Lake Champlain Hilton in Burlington, Vermont If there was a lower score than 1, I would have used it. Our experience from November 21, 2023 - November 24, 2023, was memorable but for the wrong reasons. It all began when we arrived at the front of the hotel as directed by my GPS after 6 hours of driving. What we found was a fenced-in area with no indication that this was the hotel. After circling the block a few times, we spotted a little blue banner, hardly visible at night, that said Hilton. When we finally were able to park in the garage we went to "check-in", which was a table with two chairs and PC's. That is when we were finally informed that parts of the hotel were under construction. Had we known this up front, we would have booked a different hotel. Then, to add insult to injury, I received a text message from Hilton informing us of the construction. The next morning (11/22) we were awoken at 8:00 AM to the sound of the construction workers loading a dumpster with metal waste. Then I went down to the "restaurant" to get breakfast. The choices were a hard croissant and 2 hard bagels. This was not a restaurant it was a random room with tables, chairs and a counter. So, I was forced to go out and find a breakfast place and bring it back to the hotel. We called down to the front desk around 1:00 PM and asked that our room be serviced, which the front desk said, "of course Mr. Garcia I'll let housekeeping know." When we returned at 8:00 PM, the room had not been serviced. I called down to the front desk and after a lame apology I was told that housekeeping was gone for the day, but she'd see what she could do. After 15 minutes waiting, I had to call back only to find that nothing was done. I then asked to be moved to another room, which also took a while. When they gave us another room it was about ¾ the size of the one we were in and smelled musty, like it hadn't been used in ages. Being exhausted, we stayed in it. The next morning (Thanksgiving Day) I called about getting breakfast. I was transferred to room service. After several rings and no answer, I called back down and was told that room service was only until 10:00 AM and then closed until 5:00 PM. So, why transfer me to room service in the first place. Besides those are not any room service hours I've ever heard of. We left at around 1:30 PM and again asked that the room be serviced. Low and behold when we returned that evening, it had not been serviced. Since we were leaving early the next morning, we didn't bother calling to hear more excuses and phony apologies. All in all, a horrible experience. I spoke to their HQ and was again told how sorry they were. I asked for a full refund and was given some lame excuse about booking the room at some site and that they couldn't do it. They finally offered me a refund of one night. So, how come they could refund a night but not a full refund. My reply was that they could keep their one-night refund and that I would be writing this review warning people that they should find another hotel unless they want a similar experience. I've traveled extensively throughout my career and never experienced such poor customer service and incompetence as I did at the Hilton at Lake Champlain in Burlington, VT.

Yelp
Agree with others. This hotel is in a prime location and is walkable to a lot of items. The parking is hard to find around the place which forces paid parking. The rooms are clean however are showing some age and lack of repair in some anesthetic items. They have communal coffee and water on the floors and are no longer in the rooms. The bar area is nice but is not open for long and hard to figure hours as they provide discretion to the bar staff. They have space for events that looked nice. They also have a nice open area for business and lounging.

Yelp
Overall I liked staying here - great view from our window and a nice location. I will echo the issues with parking and trying to find the parking garage, as well as the shotty renovation work they did to the rooms. Kind of a musty smell on the 6th floor upon coming off the elevator as well. I believe that they are in the middle of several renovations which made things hard to negotiate. First, when you first pull up, the parking garage entrance was blocked off due to construction. Had it been open, it would have saved alot of issues. Parking is $15 a day which isn't hateful, but when told where the entrance to the garage was - an untrained eye would have missed it. I see the P sign, but it looks as if its closed- what they don't tell you is it is back in and you have to take the small alley to access it. As for the hotel - there was alot of dust with their renovation, and again if you look close enough you will see how rushed they were doing the rooms. Again - if youre that concerned about a perfect room, you might want to build your own hotel. The location is great - walking distance to the waterfront park, to Church Street, as well as plenty of food options. They also have their own bar/restuarant as you walk in and an outdoor patio with heaters to sit during a fall night. Not that I am a fan of Burlington at all, but if I ever find myself back there - I would recommend Hilton as a nice second option.

Yelp
This is at least our fourth stay at this Hilton. There were at least a dozen dogs coming in with people checking in while we sat at the restaurant, and one dog was in the restaurant. Additionally, people wearing bathing suits and towels with no shirt or shoes were served at the bar. Why would we continue to patronize a Hilton and pay Hilton prices for a highway motel experience? The employees were friendly and I'm sure are just following Hilton policies but the experience here has deteriorated and not because of COVID.

Yelp
Conrad Hilton would have been ashamed of this hotel. No hot water in shower. Postage sized rooms, no alarm clock,no hooks to hang clothing no luggage racks for suitcase, broken buttons on room phone, incompetent staff..the list unfortunately goes on. For their price location and supposed "upgrades" they aren't worthy of the hilton brand. Look into the Marriott or Hotel Vermont.

Yelp
Excellent hotel with amazing access to downtown Burlington. Lakeside view rooms are recommended, and the sunsets that you will endure are worth the extra money. Staff is extremely helpful, rooms are clean, updated with plenty of plugs for devices, and beds are comfortable. There are no coffee makers in the rooms, but each floor has a hot and cold beverage station with an amazing coffee brewing system that can make regular and decaf coffee, as well as hot water for tea. There are two seltzer water taps as well. I stay at this hotel every time I'm in Burlington.

Yelp
Would never recommend this place, rude transphobic staff. Horrible service. Treated me like crap the whole time. While, my boyfriend, who happens to be a cis male, got like 5 star treatment. When he called them out in it. They called me a he and him. And then the manager Pete said that it wasn't discrimination. Do not support transphobic businesses. Thank you. If they don't think that calling me a man. Is transphobia. Calling the police on a trans woman in itself is transphobia. Police have no regards for trans life. just like this hotel Go to the Doubletree Hilton instead...much friendlier nicer. Non prejudice staff.

Yelp
This is probably the most disappointing Hilton I've stayed at.. I've also never spent such a high nightly rate ever before so my expectations were set pretty high with the accommodations we would receive. I went with the Premium King room since it was slightly more than the standard room and the website states it slept four so one would assume it included a 2 person sofa bed or rollaway. NOT EVEN CLOSE! I called the front desk and they brought a cot up to sleep one person and the room is so tiny you have to move all the furniture around just fit it and there's barely any walking room... false advertising. Yes, the room has a nice view but not worth the price in any way. Aside from the room being super tiny, the room needs a bit of TLC, nicks and dings on furniture and door frames plus a broken drawer handle. No microwave, no coffee maker, no pens/paper, bathrobe, laundry bag or Bible. The hot water is either lacking or on a long delay. Let's also not forget that parking and breakfast are both extra... don't buy the room packages, it's a rip off, and get breakfast in town, there's plenty of great options. And to add to my long list of frustrations, no housekeeping unless you remember to tell them you need it....we arrived in our room late the second night to messy beds, a shower full of wet towels and an empty towel bar but too tired to complain. I get it, it's a pandemic, but if you want to skimp on accommodations then cut your charges. The amount of money spent for 3 nights is making me ill considering for that price we could have stayed at a fancy hotel in a suite.

Yelp
I've stayed here twice on two separate visits: once in May and once in July The first visit was a bit rocky. The king suite was set up in an odd way: if you pulled out the sofa bed anyone in the bedroom area was trapped! Also that room was very dark, full of unnecessary extra furniture with non-working merely decorative faux drawers, and woefully low on storage space -- especially for a suite that is supposed to sleep more than two people! The front desk staff really helped out and went above and beyond moved us into a very lovely "bridal" level suite. Great furniture by Mitchell Gold and a lovely spacious accommodation. I wish I had spent my honeymoon there! Anyway, my second time around I booked a regular king room. So much nicer and better designed than the king suite! The "01" line has two exposures - one looks over the lake and the other to an interior area facing other buildings! But two exposures in a hotel room is rare. Special kudos to hardworking staff member, Jeremy, who was polite, friendly, and brimming with energy and helpfulness: he brought up a rollaway for our third person and rearranged the furniture for a perfect fit and independently made sure we had sufficient linens for three! This room was beautifully arranged with extra seating and more than enough storage. Lobby area is beautiful and a great place to sit and read or chat and it's a short walk to the lakefront and local areas Bikes are available! It's a quick drive to Shelburne for concerts too. There's a cornhole game out back! Front desk staff is very friendly and provides helpful maps and info. Self-parking is easy but valet is available if you need that. My only suggestion is that management invest in more signage in the room involving WiFi access and how to contact the front desk through texting. We had to be detectives to figure that out and it would be better to give the info when one checks in or posted clearly in the room. Also as long as you have those HD Samsung TVs, set it up so folks can access their steaming services in the screen; the channels available are otherwise anemic -- but when you are in Burlington you don't need to be watching tv in your room anyway! We will be back.

Yelp
Construction is done, and well worth it. People need to be a little more realistic about construction (especially if they are posting about hotel needing updates in the same post). AMAZING job with the renovations, service was amazing as always, rooms are spacious and if you pay for a view - you get an amazing view! I opted to pay for space instead of view and had an great view of sunset by the fire pit. Every one from bartender to front desk was great - definitely staying here for my next work trip!

Yelp
Black mold on the air intakes above our bed. Hotel management had us look at 4 other rooms before we found one without mold (see attached pictures). Aside from it being a special getaway birthday weekend that was partially ruined, we are wondering if the black mold has anything to do with us coughing and if it will ruin more of the holiday season for us. Also, the attached parking garage that the hotel doesn't own but charges $15 a night to park in is actually free. The garages website, the garage's social media account, the sign in the garage all say it's free and we left without having to pay a penny. Why is the hotel still charging money and not issuing refunds?

Yelp
I stayed here in August and overall given the cost, I cannot recommend this hotel. The number 1 thing this hotel has going for it is the location and the views, but the view definitely comes at a price. We stayed in a lake view room on the 7th floor toward the middle of the hotel and the views were fantastic. However, if your lake view room is located toward either side of the hotel, half of your view will be of a neighboring building, so definitely recommend contacting the hotel in advance and and trying to pick your room. We did the online check-in and when we arrived at 4 pm it said our room wasn't ready. There was a huge line at check-in that I then had to wait in because the online check-in hadn't worked. My room still wasn't available when I finally got to talk to a receptionist so I had to take another room (but it wasn't too far from the room I'd picked so that didn't end up being a big deal) and at that point it was around 5:30. Seeing that we couldn't get into the room at the time we'd reserved it for, and these rooms are not cheap, you'd think they'd be pretty gracious about getting a late checkout, but they really weren't - they just gave us one additional hour. As others have noted, the rooms aren't very big and our bathroom area was pretty tiny. The hotel was very clearly built in the 70s and while they've made some cosmetic changes, the 70s vibe is prevalent. They imposed a $25/day local food credit that you need to buy when checking in. Forcing your guests to buy $25 of food/drinks at your restaurant each day is a little ridiculous, especially when you're short staffed and the restaurant is only open certain hours (and when it was, there was frequently a long line to get any service). Most people visiting Burlington are going to want to check out the culinary scene that it's famous for and aren't going to want to devote a meal a day to hotel food. That was certainly the case for us so we didn't end up using most of the credit we paid for.

Yelp
Hilton in Burlington: No cleaning room service unless requested. Free water, hot coffee and tea on every floor. Gym, bike, pool, and hot jacuzzi available. Nice lake view. Great reggae music and wonderfully diverse staff. Very busy hotel with lots of tour buses coming daily. Breakfast available for a fee. Couldn't get anybody on the phone, concierge never returned text messages or answered the phone.

Yelp
Don't do it. Just don't. Book yourself a room literally anywhere else in this town. I try to assume best intentions but this place doesn't have any: -Front desk staff is inattentive and dismissive if you bring up any issues with the room and will treat you like you are bothersome. -You can "order" breakfast via one of the door hangers but it actually won't arrive because they expect you to call when you want it, even though you mark off a delivery time. -The elevator in the parking ramp is busted and full so you'll have to drag your suitcase up and down. -The parking ramp entrance to the hotel has automatic doors that are jammed so you have to pry them open yourself. -Bathroom sink is clogged and black sludge will come out of it. The maintenance will politely come fix it but leave the residue and water on the floor so be prepared to step in weird mystery residue. Literally, you are throwing money down the clogged drain if you come to this place.

Yelp
I would honestly never stay here again. It's ridiculously overpriced for a mediocre Hilton property in an admittedly nice location. Rooms wasn't ready at the designated check-in time, and the front desk staff wasn't particularly helpful or apologetic. The room itself is just average with no bells and whistles, only the most basic toiletries. I requested a *slightly* late check out - I asked for 1 pm but they would only grant me until 12:30c despite my inconvenience upon check-in. Still, at 11:30 am, housekeeping not only knocked on my door but opened it with the privacy sign up and despite the fact that I was not actually checked out. Oh and btw you only get housekeeping services once every 4 days LOL. Go around the corner to a better hotel, you'll be happier.

Yelp
We have stayed here for two nights. We like Burlington, Vermont and We enjoyed our stay at this hotel. customer service was excellent. Parking is in the back. It was easy to fine. Building looks new and our room and bathroom were clean. This hotel is next to Lake Champlain, and we had a lake view, which was beautiful. The dining area small but there are a number restaurants in immediate area. Clearly, this is the hotel to stay at when visiting Burlington, Vermont.

Andrew L.

Yelp
Unfortunately, this hotel is critically understaffed. Front desk frequently does not answer either internal or external calls. There is food & bar service only for dinner and only two days a week. (I think the hotel offers "grab and go" pre-made breakfast bags also.) The rooms are nice and the view is great, but there little else available from a services perspective. Dumbfounding really... I understand COVID has been hard, but the Marriott right next door is not having these issues.

Gavin M.

Yelp
Toilets always flooding beds uncomfortable and worn out pillows are dead meaning they will break your neck they soft and beaten out. The staff is fake they know what's going on and has no intention of changing the issues.

Sj M.

Yelp
Generic. Clean. Pricey due to location. Lots of add on charges. Room has older bathrooms, very low light (why?), limited number of power outlets. Lots of construction/renovation going on inside the hotel. The place is absolutely fine, the beds and pillows were good, just not special in any way.

Yelp
Update! General Manager comped our room for one night. And moved us to a room with a working shower...all good. But critique below is still applicable. Positives first: room facing the lake is awesome, and since we were staying 5 days, the proximity to Burlington was incredibly nice, given the many good restaurants and breweries to visit. We love Burlington! Our room was clean, and decently appointed, large TV, etc. The pool is small, given the hotel size, but the hot tub was large. The coffee bar on our floor was AMAZING! As much coffee, tea, cold water you could ask for. Really a nice touch. Negatives next: Issues developed with our room, the shower gave either all hot water or all cold. Tried to reach the front desk...no answer. Waited, tried again, no answer. I ended up having to get dressed, walk down to the front desk, to try to get the situation rectified. Spoke with a very brusque and disinterested front desk woman, no apologies, nothing except "we'll send maintenance." Maintenance tried to fix the problem with the shower. Not very well, unfortunately. Simple issue #2, out of Kleenex in our room. Call the front desk? Sure. Tried. No one picks up the phone at the front desk. Ever. Biggest issue? Internet is total shite. Completely off for a day, again, no apologies, no solution, no comping. Once back on, it worked sporadically at best, and frequently disconnected us completely. Gaming? Impossible. Watching youtube videos? Nope. Streaming? Impossible. I strongly suggest, given the price of this place, that you look elsewhere for a good place to stay. We'll never come back to this Hilton again.

Violet C.

Yelp
I would absolutely give a 5-star rating for the view and responsiveness of the staff. I was using the Hilton App and when I sent texts to ask for more towels, to get someone to clean a mess that was on a light switch, or a plunger when the toilet overflowed, they always replied immediately and were very friendly. Apparently the hotel is going through renovations, I'm hoping that includes the rooms, though I'm not sure if the rooms were already renovated? Our room was so small it felt claustrophobic. You definitely can't have more that one person in the bathroom and in order to open the shower door, you have to close the bathroom door. You could also use the toilet and brush your teeth or wash your hands at the same time (that's how tight it is)! And the towels definitely need updating, as they were horribly rough on the skin. The bed was a little soft, but comfortable enough. The huge TV in the room was nice, but in such a tiny room it seemed gigantic. The parking garage is $15 a day, which is fine, but it's hard to find the garage, there was no clear sign leading you to it and we had to come back to the hotel twice for directions. It's also very dark and there was no one working in the booth and I thought if I was alone, I would have been very nervous! Again, the view was amazing and the service was great, but I would choose a different hotel if I was in town again.
