I stayed here for six weeks while travelling on business in Peru. The hotel is really poor, as per European standards. On a positive side: spacious rooms and comfortable beds, very nice, friendly and helpful staff (one of the front desk clerks speaks good English), very good housekeeping. Also, the restaurant is decent with reasonable prices. The neighbourhood is convenient with choice of shops and restaurants within walking distance. But there are serious drawbacks. First of all, the hotel is located by very noisy street, so if you will have a room facing the street, you will hear constant honking, motors revving and loud music from nearby shops from roughly 5.30 am up to 1 am the next day. The icing on a cake is a garbage truck driving down the street every day at roughly 10.30 pm playing loud song about collecting the garbage. Water supply is extremely unstable, with pressure and temperature going up and down within minutes, including hot water disappearing suddenly while you have your soap all over your body. The walls are thin, so if you are bored in the evening you may listen to your neighbours talking or watching tv. There is no heating or AC whatsoever, so the temperature inside is pretty much the same, as inside. In winter this is some 14 - 15 deg C (very much appreciated while walking out of the shower), and some 40 deg C in the summer. Ceiling fan doesn't help a lot. Slow and unstable wifi connection. All in all - as per title.

The room was ok with comfortable beds and reasonable bedding . The bathroom was a good size . Its very central and has parking which is a good plus. Breakfast is not included but the american breakfast at usd6 is quite adequate.Staff very friendly . But ther was one BIG negative....noise There was a disco or concert just next door and the music blared really loudly till it stopped at 6am sharp on a Sunday morning .It was impossible to sleep ...

It is very good located, a couple of blocks away from the market and from the main square. It is not too close to the beach, but if you go in car it is less than a 5 minute trip. Also you can just get a cab to there for a couple of dollars. Has a pool with a bar next to it until 7pm, a karaoke until 3am and a parking lot. There is a cafe next to it with an excellent breakfast (try Pan con Chicharrón, almost same price as in the market and even more tasty). They also offer a buffet for lunch at a reasonable price.||||Wifi signal and speed were excellent inside most of the hotel, even in the 5th floor and next to the pool.

After a week in the mountains, we were really looking forward to a clean, comfortable bed and a nice, hot shower. Hotel Chavin to the rescue! We got quiet along with that when the staff was kind enough to move us from the Las Vegas strip out front to the back of the hotel. Also, the exceptionally friendly service from Anna and team was a huge bonus. It's not often that you get full body hugs from the staff at departure. :)

I stayed there for just one night with my family. The attention was good, even though they booked us the wrong rooms and we had to sleep in different floors. The rooms were very clean and neat.|The major problem was the noise! We wanted to sleep while on a roadtrip but there was noise coming from everywhere. There was a party in the hotel and a concert nearby and honestly it's impossible to actually rest with that much noise.|The restaurant was standard, around 20-40 soles per dish. They were kind enough to let us order just a few minutes before they closed and the hostess was very kind.

There is nothing special here but the rooms are adequate and comfortable. The door locks are strange but do the job. The pool was drained but large although it was hard to tell what it was like. Right on the busy street where it is noisy all night so bring your ear plugs: LOTS of honking. Food in the restaurant is slow but good. NO ATM but they will exchange money at the front desk. Take a walk: this is a nice, busy, slightly lost in time town.

The hotel is adequate at best, but the Karaoke bar next door blaring till 2 am was horrible. Combine that with the fireworks and people knocking on your door all night makes for a less than satisfying rest. No comparison with the other hotels we stayed in while in Peru. Our advise would be skip this one. Unfortunately it was our understanding that this was the best in Barranca.

Little bit old. Price is ok. You can have a good local breakfast in a restaurant right next to the hotel. Room's price doesn't include breakfast. I saw a pool too, but didn't get in
