I had a wonderful stay at this hotel. The rooms were clean, comfortable, and well-maintained, and the overall atmosphere was warm and welcoming. What truly made my experience exceptional was the outstanding service from the manager, Zaira. She went above and beyond to ensure everything was perfect, always greeting guests with genuine kindness and professionalism. Thank you, Zaira, for making my stay so memorable—I’ll definitely be returning!

I had a wonderful stay ! The rooms were clean, comfortable, and beautifully maintained. What really stood out was the amazing service Zaira, the manager, went above and beyond to make sure everything was perfect. She was friendly, attentive, and made me feel truly welcomed. I had an amazing experience during my stay. One of the highlights was the friendly front desk staff, who spoke to me in Spanish, making everything feel even more comfortable and enjoyable. My partner doesn’t speak English, so it was a huge plus for us to be able to communicate easily. They were very kind and helpful, always ready to assist with any questions. I highly recommend this hotel—excellent service and a welcoming atmosphere. I’ll definitely be back!

This was such a lovely hotel. We loved our stay. The food is great, and you get your room serviced every day. It’s two blocks from the beach and right in the middle of the strip. A free shuttle is one block away to take you to Lincoln St. The bed was comfortable. I love that the rooms come with a Firestick. Nice to sign in to my account and watch all of our programs.

This hotel is fantastic. The rooms are spacious and elegantly decorated, providing a perfect blend of comfort and style. Guests rave about the exceptional service, with staff always ready to accommodate any request. Additionally, the on-site restaurant offers a delightful menu that showcases local cuisine, making every meal a memorable experience. With its prime location, visitors can easily explore the vibrant surroundings, adding to the overall charm of their stay.

This hotel is in a great location that is conveniently located near many of the main attractions of South Beach Miami. The room was very modern in terms of decor and interior, and extremely relaxing. I enjoyed the large bay window in my room that peered out into nature. The bathroom was also extremely nice and modern, and the king sized bed was beyond comfy! I do want to outline areas for improvement below: 1. The TV did not work. All of the channels seemed to be fuzzy, and from what it appears they are still utilizing an analog cable system instead of modern digital cable. This is a major area that needs to be upgraded, especially considering how much revenue they are generating. 2. My AC went out twice, and they seemed to be unable to fix it. The second time it happened was on my last night. I was offered to be able to change rooms, but I figured that I could go without air conditioning for a few hours, since I was leaving early in the morning for my last day. 3. For the most part, the staff is very friendly and great! Though, some of the front desk staff seem like they do not want to be there. I checked in on Thursday, September 11th around 1:00PM, and there was a younger gentleman at the front desk that did not greet me, and he seemed frustrated that I was checking in. Even more frustrated when I asked him questions about towels, how to get to my room, etc. He was very interested in his cell phone and completely tuned out. This is highly risky and dangerous, as the person at the front desk is the literal face of the hotel. Yall are doing great, but there is lots of room for improvement.

From the moment I arrived, the staff made me feel welcome and valued. Check-in was smooth and quick, and my room was spotless. Every staff member I interacted with was friendly, attentive, and genuinely seemed to care about making my stay enjoyable. Location was perfect for exploring the area, with great restaurants and attractions just a short walk away. would absolutely stay here again and recommend it to anyone looking for comfort, cleanliness, and excellent service.

Had a great experience at Hotel Chelsea! The hospitality and service were top-notch—everyone was welcoming and attentive. The food was delicious, with rich Cuban flavors that really stood out. The whole environment had a warm, inviting vibe. Definitely worth a visit!

Yelp
Solid hotel...got a great deal on price for a summer staycation. Pros: location super walkable to beach and entertainment Cute art deco Service Beach towels included Very clean rooms Cons: Remote did not work 1 pillow was missing a cover... Very small rooms Odd mirror in the shower? No views No pool on site...its many blocks away at another hotel...I was disappointed in that.

Yelp
We were supposed to stay here but found a more reasonable option. However, this place is definitely a good price!!! The bartender was so wonderful showing us his hometown Cuba! They give you the mojitos with the sugarcane that you can chew on! Xoxo

Yelp
ROACHES!!! I sent this note to the CEO and Pres I dent of the hotel group. NO response! Good morning Mr. Xxxxxx  I've recently returned from my solo cruise vacation. I stayed one night at your Chelsea hotel pre cruise on Friday Jan 17.  I booked on Expedia and paid a hefty $237.11 for one night. The amenities listed satellite TV and being solo i was looking for a relaxing night before going to the pier in the morning.  As a solo cruiser I seek a precruise hotel that offers a restaurant and a bar so I'm not out wondering around alone at night.     I was quite dissapointed in my stay at the Chelsea. My tv offered mt only 3 working channels kids pbs, the health channel and one local news channel.  I will attach a video of my going thru the all channels showing how much nothing there was in a seperate email.  Please overlook the quality as I had to compress it quite a lot to attach in an email.   Not only did my tv only offer only 3 channels, the remote stopped working, my sheets were ripped, there was a broken window, and ROACHES!    I barely slept a wink worried about bugs walking on me as I slept. It did not make for an enjoyable start to my vacation.  I sent text after text to the number I was given with little reply.   In the morning I went down to get some coffee and was told to go to 711 down the street.  Defeating the whole reason I stayed there in the first place.  It had been raining and I even slipped on the lobby floor as mats were not down to be safe on wet tile.   It was a VERY disappointing stay!  I spoke with the manager on the way out and he gave me no confidence that he cared or would rectify this situation.  He didn't even give me a business card with his name and contact info on it.  I am therefor reaching out to you!  I would appreciate a refund for this terrible stay.   I have not yet posted any reviews showing the roaches in your room as I hopped to rectify this situation first.  I've also attached pictures of the roaches and other issues. One showing the wider room showing the destinctive floor pattern.  I look forward to hearing back from you and am happy to answer any questions you may have.   Sincerly

Yelp
Disappointing hotel: Unpleasant Conditions and Unsympathetic Management. We were hopeful that this would be an acceptable hotel however we decided to check out after one night due to the must/mold smell in the hallway and room, the loud air conditioner, the fruit flies in the room, the bathroom floor and the overall disrepair of the room / hotel. The hotel reservation manager would not refund our second night, stating it was against their policy & we did not give them a chance to fix the issue. Frankly a 6 month renovation and wrecking ball would be fixing the issue -- nothing that would have anyone change their mind about staying an additional night. The hotel continues to state reservations are not refundable, and kept the money. Do yourself favor and stay at the Moxy across the street, or with another reputable hotel chain.

Yelp
After heavy analysis of where to stay in South Beach at a fair price, I ended up at Hotel Chelsea for 2 nights in February. The stay was fine - good bang for your buck, esp for location and safety. -booked on the hotel's direct website for $125/night, pre taxes and resort fee -solid location on Washington bet 9th and 10th -convenient to Collins where stores are and Ocean Drive where the madness and beach are; walkable to the shopping on Lincoln Rd; many public buses run on Washington; walkable to the Whole Foods on Alton -across the street from CVS and a block away from 7-11 -yes its awkward walking thru a restaurant every time you want to enter the hotel but I actually liked it for its additional safety factor (more people around) -staff desk person was friendly enough; beach towels provided as part of resort fee; no beach chair rental though -free happy hour at nearby Chesterfield and Whitelaw hotels from 6-7pm. It was indeed free for mixed drinks but was crowded; please tip the bartender -no pool on premise but they offer 2 pools at the sister Catalina hotel (10 min walk); the ground pool was terrible. The rooftop one was a little better for lounging but I wouldn't swim in there either -Room was big enough for 1-2 ppl -wifi speed was betw 5-10mbps -Wasn't super noisy or annoying *All and all, a fair stay for the price. Location is best quality. Give the happy hour and visits to the Catalina pools a try.

Yelp
My husband and I stayed here for the one night we were in Miami. We were simply looking for a clean, reasonable place to stay near the beach and all of the action and that's exactly what we got. The room was small with a large Cali king bed - perfect for a place to rest our head after exploring the area! There's an adorable restaurant at the front that we thought may be too loud by the end of the night, but we didn't even notice it as we fell asleep for the night. On top of that, service was friendly and everything seemed to be clean. Not a bad spot to stay!

Yelp
I stayed at Hotel Chelsea while I attended SOBEWFF. Good budget hotel that is 2 blocks from Ocean Drive. Pro's - Price - Location - Friendly hotel staff - Has access to a sister's hotel pool near by - Beach towels provided - Cuban restaurant and full bar onsite Con's - older hotel (most hotels in the area are older) - No hotel room coffee stations - rooms and bathrooms are a bit small - not sure why they charge a resort fee when there's no pool or other amenities that you'll find at other hotels. - no onsite parking (most hotels in the area don't provide parking at this price point)

Yelp
The review is for a restaurant. 1 hour wait for the food to be served 20% tips are added to the bill Things like side potato and milk for you coffee is extra charge but it's not in the menu.

Yelp
AVOID AVOID AVOID THIS LOUD HOTEL IF YOU WANT ANY SLEEP AND A CLEAN ROOM! The hotel is very loud "ALL NIGHT LONG". Guests are loud in the hallways. The building has EXTREMELY thin walls and ceilings. You hear everything! There is black mold in the showers. Ants around the sinks. Guests check in at all hours...a lot around 2 am and stomp around the very thin wood floors, drag luggage and furniture ... so be prepared to. Or sleep between 2-3 pm and up till 6am after people stumble in from the bars that close at 5am. The thin walls do not stop the noise from one floor to another. I was here on work trip and will not be returning. The staff did nothing to help or rectify this on going problem. Avoid

Yelp
They charge $20 per hour for early check in while ALL OTHER HOTELS in the area will allow you to check in early being the room is available for NO CHARGE. They will not hold your luggage while ALL OTHER HOTELS in the area will hold your luggage safe until check in. This place will send you down the block to an ice cream shop to drop off your luggage for a FEE of course. There is NO lobby you have to walk inside of a restaurant, with the front desk being right next to a dirty restroom that employees constantly come and go to. When you first walk in it smells moldy. And if you want to cancel the reservation for any reason, THEY WILL NO REFUND YOU A PENNY. It's obviously because once you see what a dump this place is you will not want to stay here. It is not worth the money you're saving. Just pay the few $ more and book a legit hotel there's plenty in this area, just the money you will save from the early check in makes it about an even price. Lastly, we saw homeless ppl hanging around in front walking up and down the sidewalk, that isn't the type of environment you want to vacation in.

Yelp
Negative 5 Stars. The room is a joke, the bathroom didn't lock, there's only a bed & four walls. There are no drawers to unpack into nothing! The bathroom also didn't have a curtain just a huge window to a Main Street, enjoy being an exhibitionist. Also bring a surge protector there are NO outlets. I will never stay here again ever. If this were a hostel I wouldn't give it a star. 1 star is just the lowest possible. TERRIBLE!!!
google avatar

Yelp
Leaving another review because this place is an absolute joke! I've been reaching out to them for a week about canceling my hotel stay & they refuse to answer or contact me back. I have emailed, called multiple numbers, left reviews on google & Yelp.. & they won't reply. I'm now convinced they somehow blocked my number because the calls won't go through now. Do not stay here. This place is absolutely disgusting with cockroaches & they are only concerned with getting their money. Terrible customer service.

Yelp
2 1/2 Stars is more like it. We stayed for 2 days. The location is fabulous! Dining, bars, beach, and things to do are a very short walk away. Room was roomy and very pretty! The bed was good. Pillows were too full for me. Comforter had a bunch of holes in it. What the heck? A/C, TV, and fridge worked great. The deco of the place is fabulous. Definitely a pretty hotel. Price was very good for the area. Two things did not work. The safe needed batteries and after waiting 3 hours we went to 7-11 and bought batteries and fixed it ourselves. Also the jacuzzi tub was broke but we didn't pay for that amenity, but it does make it absolutely, positively, without a doubt...IMPOSSIBLE to clean. I've owned one before. The pipes can only be cleaned by running it with bleach. So yeh that's gross! Water sits in the pipes and festers. No bathing, just shower. Whoops and I forgot our room keys were terrible. 5-10-15 swipes. If it worked on the first swipe...We celebrated! High Fives! Other people were having the same issue. We were woke up at 2:30 am by pounding or knock and we didn't know where it came from. Lasted about an hour. I thought it was above us. Hubby thought it was beside us. I told another guest in the lobby the service was a little below par....she said I was being nice! Her A/C was out. They were leaving. We had to walk to get coffee in the morning. I thought they had room service but the only time I asked, he said they came in at 9am. Sorry, but I can't wait that long for my coffee. Back to 7-11! All in all....I'd stay here if I was on a budget.

Yelp
PROS: - Affordable and walking distance to all the attractions one would be looking for when coming to South Beach. - Free drinks located at a sister hotel because the bar at Chelsea is longer in service. - Close to some really good places to eat. - Friendly / Helpful staff CONS: -Thin walls... I could hear not only my neighbors next door but those above me. - You will have to pay for parking & in some cases you may not be able to park close to your hotel if you drive a car. - No real amenities... I did have a refrigerator and a TV that was in analog..... Who comes to South Beach to watch TV? - Rm 209 has uneven foundation and it's by the pool of the adjoining hotel=loud. CONCLUSION: If you're looking for a cheap hotel and you really don't mind so much the inconvenience of noise, then I would say book this hotel because it is in the party district & you will hear other people partying and people in other rooms doing whatever it is that they're doing. The staff is super friendly and nice and willing to give you the information you need to make your stay pleasurable and staff also works hard to accommodate all the needs that you may have while you were in this hotel. This is an older building and older hotel which adds to the uniqueness of staying here during your trip. TIP: - Don't book this room through a third-party company.I booked this hotel through hotels.com and was "guaranteed" a room with a queen bed and ended up with a room with two double beds....the hotel staff did fix this problem. - Don't pay for parking because a parking fine will cost you $18 & parking is going to cost you probably around $50.

Yelp
Great hotel.. GREAT location!! 2 min walk to the beach. Many shopping and restaurants in walking distance. Great restaurant in the hotel. Good food and service. The rooms need better lighting, TV has a very limited amount of channels, very limited outlets in the room as well. Also.. temperature control on shower was difficult to gauge to get hot water. Beds are soooo comfy .. slept really well . Whenever the room keys are around or touching your phone.. they would deactivate .. but you just have to get them reactivated at front desk . Great customer service. All the hotel staff and restaurant staff were extremelyyy friendly and helpful. Let us check out late which was very helpful..Would definitely stay here again. Great price and location

Yelp
If I can give -0 stars I would. Absolutely horrible the service is terrible. They are not polite. They do not even greet you when you walk in the door they do not clean your room until the third day you have stayed there they don't even pick up the trash or change your towels. The rooms are old they smelt terrible. They try to fool you when you first walk in. They spill Clorox all over the place so you think it's clean absolutely disgusting I guess you get for what you pay for the only thing is convenience it is absolutely two blocks away from everything. I recommend you look absolutely anywhere else. This place is TERRIBLE

Yelp
Spent 3 nights at this adorable little hotel in the very heart of Art Deco in Miami. It's just what we expected. The staff is super sweet and courteous and the rooms have been redone. It's an older building but you can't hear through the rooms and the beds are comfy. One note: there's no mirror in the bedroom - only the bathroom and lack of outlets next to the bed - there's only one and it's under a shelf. The staff is very friendly, but it helps to have a basic grasp of Spanish - as in much of Miami. It's a short walk to good food, the beaches, and Ocean Drive. The free trolley runs in front of the hotel. Lyft is about $17 to get across the bay. All in all, book your stay here. You won't regret it.

Yelp
I was disappointed with this hotel for quite a few reasons. For starters, the pictures they have online are extremely deceptive. The photographer must have used some sort of camera trick to make the rooms look bigger than they are. The hotel isn't as appealing in person as It is online. As for the room itself, it was ok if all you're planning to do is sleep in It. The bed was comfortable enough, so no complaints there. The Bluetooth stereo was a nice touch as well. Fortunately there was a visible extra outlet next to the stereo. The electrical outlets next to the bed were hidden by the "night stands". I didn't even notice them until the day I checked out. The bathroom was very tiny.. It was extremely hard to get the shower to dispense hot water. The shower handle just spun around and around which made finding hot water a total guessing game. Not a game you'll want to play if you just want a quick shower. The walls are super thin which meant I could hear my "neighbor" snoring all night long. The "pool access" was misleading too. The pool is located at a sister property 8 blocks away! That was a major blower because the beach conditions weren't good at all due to Jelly fish and seaweed. The WiFi wasn't very strong either. The Happy Hour was limited to 6 oz rum and cokes or two other equally unappealing options. It was free though, so after three rounds I was willing to let that slide. I didn't even bother with the restaurant after seeing one of the staff members plates. The brightest spot in this hotel was the staff. Everyone I encountered was very accommodating and polite. They always had a smile on their faces and even suggested a cool little night spot a block away. Santana was really helpful with the check in process. My only gripe with the check in is that they offered to wave their early check in fee in exchange for a favorable review on trip advisor. I was only checking in an hour early, but they were adamant about the charge unless they got their review. Obviously the review was bogus because it was done at prior to even the first night's stay. But a waved fee is a waved fee. Overall I wouldn't suggest this place unless you are trying to save money. It's cool if you only need a place to sleep and bathe (in cold or lukewarm water). It's not far from the beach and a few cool bars either.

Yelp
This place was disappointing!! The front desk girl could give a care about checking you I mean first impressions right ? The bar area is closed and there are No happy hour as advertised. The elevator was broken so if you are handicap it isn't happening here to get to your room or if you bring heavy bags you will be carrying them up super narrow dirty stairs !!!!the first room she gave me the smoke detector was beeping loudly I walked down stairs told the front desk girl she said "are you serious? " hell yes I am serious I can't sleep in a room with a chirping smoke detector? She then tried to move me to the third floor... I was like no way I am dragging my luggage up to the third floor. She gave me a room in the second floor I went there was blood spatter on the sheets and bugs on the bed ... I couldn't believe it the bed only had a sheet no blankets nothing and when I pulled the sheets back there was more blood and more bugs ..... I went downstairs and asked for a full refund to leave but the girl at the desk was too busy she stated and then she refused to answer the phone when the booking plat form called here to request the refund. I am so pissed they refused a refund from United hotel bookings and I had to dispute with my credit card but no way I was staying in this slum

Yelp
This hotel is a NO unless you literally can careless were you sleep and you want to be convenience by being close to everything. My room was small and dark as if I was in a basement, but I was on the top floor...oh yeah the top floor with no working elevators. For it to be the sunny states there was no decent hot water to shower and to make matters worse, the bathroom light was soo dimmed...I was sure my makeup would look tragic once I actually got out doors with actual light. Their staff was very pleasant, not your best problem solver, but they were nice. To avoid taking the the stairs back to the top floor I asked to used to the bathroom in the lobby area.... it was soo wet and disgusting, I immediately complained to their host who'd informed me they didn't have anyone to clean it... wow. I booked on traveladvisor (I thought in full) and still had to pay a resort fee and have $100 held for 4 days...I was irritated to say the least bc I only came to the struggling hotel bc I thought I was getting a discount for it being 3 stars... now I see why. If I didn't wake up, the first thing in the morning to write this review... I would have had pictures....

Yelp
Why 5 stars? Because you can't beat the location and price. --- --- --- Months before South Beach Food & Wine Fest, I checked Hotels.com for decent hotel options that were walking distance from the majority of the events. It turned out that there was a grand total of one decent option: Hotel Chelsea. It looked pretty cool in the photos, but most importantly, the location was ideal. Being that it was the most fairly priced hotel on South Beach led me to believe that the quality of the room would leave a bit to be desired, but honestly, I don't have many complaints! The design of the room is modern and unique. The bed was comfortable, the A/C turned my room into a freezer at night (which is ideal) and the shower was quite relaxing. I'd almost mentally prepared myself to write a 3 or 4 star review here just based on my expectations, but I really can't think of a single thing I didn't like! I would definitely stay here again!

Yelp
Not recommended. No parking, nearest parking lot is 3 blocks away. The facilities of the unit is old. The AC is very noisy (street level of noise) and the fan speed / temperature can't be adjusted (tried two rooms, they are the same). I have trouble sleep there. The room is smaller than the pictures. Shower is cold. Super small elevator, and is occasionally blocked by the staff. Tried to get a refund after first night for the rest of the reservation, but the manager is not friendly and not helpful. Here are some of her quotes: "you will never find any hotels here that meet your needs". "if you check reviews before going to any places, you can't go anywhere."
google avatar

Lindsay L.

Yelp
It was ok.:: checking in I waited 12 min no body at the front .... I got my room in the 3 floor. The elevator was down .... they said they waiting for a piece ... lol. I called today 7 days later and there's still broken ( elevator) so it's a lie. ... if u need the elevator don't stay here. Someone is lying the Managerment is nowhere to be seen. Who runs this place. ?????

Yelp
Avoid this place. Terrible service, air conditioner was broken in my room for 4 days. Tried to ask for help everyday and they never fixed it. Tried to ask for some kind of reimbursement, said they were going to help and they just ignored it. Room was dirty and the bed was uncomfortable.

Yelp
Wouldn't come again not that great. steak was sub par Mango drink tasted nothing like a mango was probably an old mango. Waited one hour so I recommend you got to another restaurant !

Priscilla D.

Yelp
Terrible experience when it came to requesting a refund for a cancelled reservation 3 months ahead of time. I experienced a death in the family and needed to request a refund in light of funeral expenses and the hotel refused to provide a refund.

Erika C.

Yelp
I arrived early before check in time and was able to be quickly accommodated by Juan Franco. 10/10 would recommend to anyone looking to stay in Miami and close to the beach!

ZeAnder C.

Yelp
Had a great experience at Hotel Chelsea. Juan Franco at the front desk was very helpful and friendly, and the entire process was smooth. Would recommend.

Yelp
Great stay, much better than expected. The rooms were nice and Victor was extremely helpful at the front desk!

Yelp
REVIEWER # 141 LOCATION, HAPPY HOUR & AMAZING CUSTOMER SERVICE!! (5 STARS) Whoo! What more could you ask for? This was such a wonderful experience! Spent a couple days in Miami for the New Years to bring in 2016 and I loved every minute of it! This hotel is located on such a busy street however it's central to EVERYTHING! I first found Hotel Chelsea through Yelp and Booking.com and many people were talking about how amazing the location was and I have to admit, the location is PERFECT! I drove down from Orlando and upon approaching the hotel I had my car valet and it sat the entire time I was in Miami. I was able to walk and uber to all the central areas I wanted to go! (Please note: Driving in Miami is horrible! So much traffic) HOTEL DÉCOR: The Hotel from the outside looks nice and clean. There is usually also someone in the front to greet you and valet your car. Outside they have decorated the front with a terrace with tables and chairs for drinks. Once you enter you will notice the bar/food area is on your right and the reception is on the left. In the center of the hotel towards to the left they have the stairs and also an elevator (very slow) I recommend just taking the stairs. MY ROOM: My room was located on the 2nd floor with a window facing the front strip. I had a one queen size bed (very comfortable). I must admit that the room was small but decent for one person (even a couple). My bathroom was gorgeous! OMG. The Tub looked so inviting! I truly loved everything about my bathroom. All the rooms did have air conditioning which was well needed for the summer time however not much needed during the time I was visiting. I had WiFi around the hotel which worked fine at all times. The lights in the room were dim to me which makes the room look really dark however I wasn't in the room that much so it didn't bother me as much. LOCATION: Walking distance from shopping, beach life and even club/bar life at night. If you are not able to walk there is Uber that works excellently! CUSTOMER SERVICE: I had to give big props to all the staff here! Everyone was super nice and sweet during my stay. After a couple days I started to feel like family. Big shout-out to: Jessica (bartender), Roberto (Front desk agent/bartender), Jason (Front Desk Agent) and Amit! During my last day I even had the General Manager Winston M come up to me and ask about my stay! How amazing is that? Staff really takes pride in the work that they do and it truly shows through their amazing personalities! HAPPY HOUR: Yesss!!! I scored well with this hotel to have a Happy Hour in the same place I was staying! BINGO! Happy Hour is from 7PM-8PM, wait...Did I mention that drinks are FREE! Yess! FREE DRINKS FOR AN HOUR! (Have I given you all the reasons to book your room yet?) . I truly enjoyed this during my stay! I was also able to meet and speak to other people who were visiting Miami for their first time! Such a great way to get the hotel guest together! Overall, I truly enjoyed my stay here and I will stay here all over again if I was given the opportunity! The customer service, great happy hour and location would be the reason for my stay! I will always room with Hotel Chelsea when I am in Miami and I believe you should as well! Enjoy your stay and thank me later! (SMILES) REVIEW 211/196

Yelp
Almost died from heat. Put ac on 45 and temperature last night wouldn't go below 81. Thank god it went down to 79 now. Called front desk they said they will call management and never did. Went to the front today she said maintenance will come 1030 and check out is at 11 not even an apology. Never staying here again!

Yelp
If you want to hear the ugly truth about this place... please keep reading. Everything bad said here is real. Let me be super real about this place... I can't sleep bc people keep mistaken my room from the exit, ok not that bad. Lets talk about my check in experience, this human really didn't care to check us in then charged us more bc we were early, we paid, but there was no warning of this. Ok ok not that bad. We get to the room and the bathroom does not have any division's between the shower and the toilet, First thought was, "wow such a modern vibe". Not really...basically everything gets wet, ooo but if you want to take a quick poop while you shower this is the place for you!!! I had to use flip flops all the time, first not to slip bc who ever designed this place is the worst interior designer combining this two materials together.. the wood gets humid and you slip. I obvioulsy fell, didn't suffer as much as a broose in my knee. Anyway....... They wont clean your room bc of covid but no one is wearing masks or even remotely worried about covid. They wont replace your towels or give you more toilet paper. The best part was when I tried expressing my concerns this human just said "What do you want me to do about it?" At that point I just got my toilet paper and raaaaaan. However i will give the whole credit to the staff (not on reception) they do recieve you with great vibes and energy, they have a great heart. Bartenders make the best carajillos and mojitos. Good playlist. Bonus: -Air conditioner does it own thing -Mini fridge is not cold -No hot water -Room keys stop working -No bath-ropes

Yelp
I would give zero stars but then the review would not appear. The staff was incompetent, check in took way longer than needed, then x3 trips back to the desk to get keys to actually work. The check out staff wasn't empowered to address issues we had and then berated my guest who had her own room when she came down in his very broken English. The hotel is the worst! It smelled of Fabuloso and weed. The hot water didn't work in my guest's shower. Evidently there's a truck to turning it on- no one shared that at check in. When asked got our review I wrote the GM and at $300 a night x 2 rooms I got no response Maria Meaux. So now I have no choice but to post this. Stay far away from here. It was disgusting.

Yelp
I stayed at Hotel Chelsea literally to have a place to sleep and shower so that I could check into a different hotel the next day. I stayed in the most basic room. I was pleasantly surprised as it is a boutique south beach hotel and not very expensive. The room was clean and bed was comfortable. The room had a weird mold smell though. The AC blew that weird mold smell right on the bed and the fan was really strong. Good place to stay on a budget and still be comfortable. Close to everything in south beach. Small bathroom. No counter space. You can hear everything outside, in the hallway, next door.

Yelp
Worst stay of my life. Don't go there. No Security at all. Windows and Doors don't lock or close properly in the rooms. Parked right next door paid parking and when I got up the first morning I was there my window was smash out in on my car. No one cared would let me cancel the next night. Complete Garbage Hotel.

Yelp
Definitely not the Kimpton definitely not 4 seasons or even 1 season. Just a regular too small and not worth the money we paid hotel. Nothing fancy room is big enough for 1 or 2 guests. Hot water wasn't hot until maybe the second evening. The closet had mold in it around the pipe. The television was dated and the picture quality seem like something from the 80s. Leg of the chair in the room was clearly crooked and unstable. No housekeeping at all which they tell you before you arrive. No washcloth when we requested additional towels at the front desk. Positives, it's clean. There's a bar and restaurant downstairs that's not affiliated with the hotel. Drinks are good at the bar, not watered down and not too expensive. A Grey goose and tonic was about $13. Eat your food, all of it because there's no microwave anywhere in the hotel to warm up leftovers. The young black girl at the front desk was super helpful and kind. Everyone else was just doing their job of being nice to the guests. The elevator can hold two people at the most. I must add that on my last night there, I had a dream that someone was choking me to death, woke up and saw what appears to be a man backing away from my bed. So there might be some spirits living or visiting at this hotel. I'm not going to write this hotel off, it's cute. Just need some upgrading (especially that atrocious carpet on the stairways) and it would be even cuter. Strong feelings not much has been changed in the past 10-15 yrs as far as decor or upgrades.

Yelp
DO NOT STAY HERE!!!!! I stayed here because it looked like an ok place to stay on booking.com but i shouldve checked the reviews on yelp. This place only cares about taking your money. I booked two rooms for a few days with friends and we didnt stay the entire weekend. We checked in around 4 pm and we checked out 3 am the next day, not even 24 hours of staying there and they charged us the whole weekend stay like wtf. They have roaches, dirty sheets, dark rooms, tvs that dont work, side table lamps that cannot be plugged in. If you dont mind staying here then go ahead. My friends and I did not feel comfortable about staying in this dirty hotel so we had to urgently find one that same night and luckily we got 2 rooms last minute at the Betsy Hotel which is a HUGE upgrade btw. Do not waste your money here. I emailed the general manager that apparently handles all reservations and refunds since the staff at the hotel chelsea says they can't do anything and i was charged the WHOLE stay when we didnt even spend the first night there. And this manager named Maria never emailed me back. Just money hungry b*tches. I neveeeeer write reviews but i had to for this place. My first time visiting Miami coming from LA and trust me when I say this place is trash. Even the Motel 6 back home are better than this place. Staff doesn't care about you having a bad experience/having disgusting rooms. One of the employees laughed and said its normal to have big roaches after there's been a storm?!?!?! Like ew. So disgusting. Never again.

Yelp
WORST HOTEL I MAY HAVE EVER STAYED AT!!!! I have never met a General Manager who was so unpleasant, disrespectful and unaccommodating in my life. Here is what happened during my stay: 1. A girlfriend and I were staying together and at 3 am two men opened the door to our room (with a key that was given to them by the hotel) and they were equally as shocked as we were. As a young girl sleeping this was not only a violation of privacy, but definitely an inconvenience and a little scary as well! The next day we explained the situation to the manager and he said it was OUR FAULT for not using the extra security lock on our door (which we thought we did)... when someone from his hotel staff messed up and provided people with a key to our room. 2. After he told us we should have used our security lock we decided to double check the lock.. sure enough it was BROKEN. We called down to the front desk about 10 times and no one answered. Eventually someone answered and they came to check the lock. After they checked they said they would send maintenance up to fix it and no one showed up until the next day. 3. At this point we were very disappointed in our stay and asked to speak with the manager, again. He eventually raised his voice at us and blamed everything on us telling us there was NOTHING HE COULD DO. Um, excuse me sir.. you can do whatever you want but he was so consumed with making money himself he could care less what our experience was like. 4. I spoke with other guests at the hotel and they thought it was a very bad hotel as well. One guy even had ANTS in his bed and the hotel said that he should have complained when he saw them right away and not have waited a few hours to do so!!!! WHAT!! 5. The ONE AND ONLY reason there is even 1 star there is because of the extremely kind african american front desk woman who was SO KIND to us and expressed to us how bad she felt and said she would try to do anything to make our stay better. The manager at one point had brought me to tears speaking with him due to his lack of respect for a younger woman like myself. He just thought we were trying to rip them off somehow!! I would personally never stay here, regardless of the price/location. IT IS NOT WORTH IT! Unless you like dealing with a** holes, ants in your bed & a very disrespectful manager... then this place is the one for you!!!! And again, thank you thank you thank you to the very kind lady that tried to cheer us up, you will have great karma headed your way!!!

Yelp
This is just the cutest hotel ever. I don't know how I stumbled upon it but if I'm ever in Miami I'm definitely going to check it out again! Boutique hotels are the cutest down to every last decor detail. The staff were friendly and the location is a skip, hop and a jump away from where all the Miami Beach action is. You can walk to the fun! Hotel Chelsea is small in size but big in personality. One thing I'll always remember about this place is their insane decor.

Yelp
Hotel Chelsea is honestly a gem in the center of everything necessary right on south beach. Not to mention ocean drive and the beach are only two blocks away. Perfect location! The rooms are exceptionally clean and cozy. Whether you want a king size bed or two queens, the front desk will accommodate your needs. Angel, the manager who helped me was an absolute pleasure; immensely helpful and just overall very kind and professional. The hotel is located on Washington Ave a block from one of my favorite local bars - Employees Only. CVS is right across the street and 7Eleven is a block down the street. Plenty of restaurants and hot spots to check out. I would recommend this little gem to anyone and everyone looking for a great experience in Miami!! Thanks Hotel Chelsea :) I'll definitely be back!!!

Yelp
My boyfriend and I stayed here for our recent South Beach vacation from Los Angeles. The location is very central to South Beach life!: Clubs, bars and beach. Whether you are looking to explore SoBe or travel up to North Shore, this hotel is a good choice. Plus: -central location -Friendly staff! The manager Angel was nice and allowed us to get late check out without a fee. -Happy Hour!!! Free drinks from 7-8pm -Clean rooms

Yelp
I had a great time considering for a 4 night stay in South Beach with my BFF. It's close to the famous clubs, boutiques, restaurants, and a few blocks to Miami beach. The front desk attendant is superb! He will put you on the VIP list & gave you access pass to some of the hottest nightclubs frequent by celebrities- Mansion, Cameo, Mia at Biscayne (owned by Scott Disick, Kourtney Kardashian's baby daddy), B.E.D., Pink Lounge, Piano Room...just to name a few. Thanks again, John! I love the chandeliers and draperies in the room. It gives off a mysterious and ultra-sexy vibe. Happy Hour starts from 7pm-8pm. Pretty cool for drinks on the house! The bartender is friendly & laid-back. And the shuttle bus makes hourly stops from the airport to hotel and back and a few stops to the city (shopping, sight-seeing, etc.). Clean linens and daily room service. The only negative factor was mainly the shower head in the bathroom. Instead of a full glass door, a half glass door is visible. It does not prevent the water from spraying out. The bathroom floor is wet after each shower. Overall, the bathroom could had been designed a lot better- floor, tiles, etc. And a strong draft from the window gets very chilly at night (depending the month of travel). Overall, I would definitely recommend staying here for convenience & comfort!

Yelp
Not a bad spot, given its proximity to all the nightlife on Washington St, Collins Ave, and Ocean Drive. Best thing I liked about the hotel was the free shuttle to and from the airport -- that was really convenient and saved a ton on cab fares! The staff were pretty cool for not kicking me and my friends out due to noise complaints for other guests on our first night there and the bartender at the lobby bar hooked me up with a free birthday shot on my birthday, which was pretty cool of him. The "free" happy hour was kinda whack, seeing as how when we were there, it was basically just me and my group and a few non-partying type guests and the drinks were super small and kinda watered down. What can you expect for free, lol? A lot more girls and better vibe may have saved the happy hour, but all in all it was kinda weak by South Beach Standards. A good hotel for the money, just kinda small, perfect for Thursday -- Sunday trips to South Beach,

Yelp
Awesome place, Location and staff. I checked in here last minute for a one night stay when I arrived I was greeted by the lovely Irina at the front desk who was more than helpful with checking me in right away didn't have to wait till 3! very awesome customer service from her who gave me a list of her favorite brunch spots around the area. The manger of the hotel angel was more than expectational always asking if I was enjoying my stay and giving me tips of where to go around the area. I will definitely be coming back here again. the rooms were beyond what I expected very clean and tidy I had no issues with anything. thanks again and hope to come back next time I'm in Miami.

Yelp
I lived in South Beach long ago and have traveled here many times. I have my favorite hotels and have stayed at many. Granted in South Beach things are always changing and other things are the same. The Hotel Chelsea is now among my favorites. It's close to everything, clean, affordable and just the right amount of edgy, pulsing, and more. The free happy hour is for real and the bartender I'madt was excellent. Amazingly, the hotel restaurant is very affordable and excellent. I'll be back.

Yelp
Stayed here last year and the overall experience was good. The hotel is clean and the staff is friendly. They even have a shuttle that picks you up from the airport and drops you off at the airport too. This was a plus. The walls however, are very thin and during my stay I could hear a couple "getting it on" over and over , over the course of the trip. :/ It was a bit awkward. The rooms are also a bit tight and face a building next door, so you don't get a view of the street. The Chelsea is cute and good for the overall value.

Yelp
Avoid this hotel. It's a complete train wreck. My friend and I booked two nights at Hotel Chelsea while on vacation at South Beach. The nightly rate was highly economical and the location is great, but the service was simply horrendous. The front desk staff and valet were slow and incompetent. When I showed up to check in, the desk worker did not even acknowledge me and kept focusing on the task he was completing for someone else. Normally, one would say, "Welcome to the Hotel Chelsea. I'll be with you in just a moment." But no... I waited for 10 minutes before he ever even made eye contact. When I got to the room, I was quite unsatisfied with the cleanliness of the bathroom. Some of the towels had long black hair on them. It was just unacceptable on so many levels. Even worse, my first night I was locked out of my room because the battery in the card swipe died. Something like this could have been prevented by having maintenance check those regularly - another reason I believe the hotel administration is incompetent. When I came to report the issue, the desk clerk sent me up and down the stairs several times to try different cards in the door and made it seem like I was operating the door incorrectly. After several failed attempts, he grew impatient and went to try all the cards in the door himself. Only then did he actually believe me and called maintenance. It took over an hour for the issue to be resolved. My friend who was staying with me is a diabetic and his insulin was locked in the room. If he had needed insulin, he could have died. I suppose "you get what you pay for" but if I had it to do over again, I would have totally spent my money elsewhere.
