15 Best Luxury and Boutique Hotels in New York City - AFAR

"A storied cultural institution reimagined for a new generation, this historic property has housed writers, artists, and musicians for more than a century and now offers 155 guestrooms from studios to two-bedroom suites with full kitchens. Individual rooms vary widely—some with wrought-iron balconies, fireplaces, or stained-glass details—while unifying touches like an inlaid monogram and Marshall-style Bluetooth speakers nod to its creative past. Public life centers on a Gilded Age–inspired lobby bar with classic hotel cocktails, alongside revived dining staples including a long-standing Spanish restaurant and a French-American café serving traditional favorites." - Jennifer Flowers

Had a great experience at Hotel Chelsea! The hospitality and service were top-notch—everyone was welcoming and attentive. The food was delicious, with rich Cuban flavors that really stood out. The whole environment had a warm, inviting vibe. Definitely worth a visit!

Comfortable clean beds, good shower, not much on TV but I didn't have much time for that anyway. Good food on breakfast, but no coffee included! Plus, you have to walk 25min to the other hotel where it is served (maybe get the free trolley). Isabella, from the reception, was really great. Very nice and sympathetic.

I had the pleasure of staying at the Chelsea Hotel in Miami, and I can confidently say it was an outstanding experience from start to finish. The staff were incredibly welcoming and attentive, making sure all our needs were met. The hotel itself is beautifully maintained, with modern amenities and a stylish atmosphere that made it feel like a true home away from home. The location is perfect—close to everything Miami has to offer, yet still peaceful and relaxing. I especially loved the attention to detail in the rooms and the cleanliness throughout the property. I will definitely be returning and highly recommend the Chelsea Hotel to anyone looking for a top-tier stay in Miami. 5 stars all the way!

Absolutely loved my time here. The room had everything I needed and more, with a beautiful design and a very comfortable bed. The location was perfect and made it easy to get around. I felt very safe and well looked after during my entire stay.

We just arrived at the Chelsea and weren’t sure what to expect - just booked for the location. We walked in and Mauricio was so wonderful! He was so welcoming, knowledgeable, and hospitable. The hotel itself is charming and for the price, comes with some fun perks like pool privileges at the sister hotel and a free happy hour! We would come back specifically due to Mauricio’s hospitality!

We arrive from a long flight. Upon entering, the guy at the desk was busy playing games on his phone, we were not a priority to him. Then proceeded to tell us we owed $219 more on a prepaid room for two nights. I asked for a breakdown of the cost. He said it was for city and hotel fees. When asked how much the fees were per night. He states $34. When I pointed out that 34 x 2 is 68, he was said we still owed $219. I wrote the math down on a piece of paper for him, then he saw how ridiculous his $219 was. He agreed I was probably correct. Yet he needed to email someone several times to get clarification. Finally, I was charged $68 taxes and fees for two nights. I realize most hotels in Miami Beach are old. This one is old, dirty, no television channels to speak of. Location is the only plus. In the future, I would stay further out and uber in for the day

My wife and I decided to stay on South Beach at Hotel Chelsea the night before our cruise out of Miami, and were very happy with our choice! We arrived a few hours before check in ,but the hotel manager Mauricio was very accomodating and let us check in early at no extra cost.|We went to our room and found it to be small but clean and comfortable. |Like most of the hotels on South Beach, Hotel Chelsea had a restaurant in the front of the hotel and bar in the lobby. The restaurant, Havana Vieja, is a Cuban restaurant and seemed very popular with the locals. |The location was great as well, being only two blocks from Ocean Drive and the beach! We spent the day walking up and down Ocean Drive and Collins Ave checking out the old Art-Deco hotels and stopping here and there for drinks. |We also walked down to South Pointe Park to watch Saturday's cruise ships departing. |After a long day of walking we went back to the hotel and grabbed a couple seats at the bar. We had appetizers along with a few fabulous cocktails! Our bartender Enrique was very friendly and a master mixologist! Afterwards we headed to our room for the night. |the shower was nice with good pressure and nice soaps and shampoo. The beds were very comfortable and it was quiet. |Woke up early and decided to walk over to the beach and watch the sun come up. The neon lights of all the old hotels were still on as we walked down Ocean Drive and it was awesome!|Uber to the cruise port took about 20 minutes. |Absolutely nothing negative to say about this hotel. Price was right at just under $200, location was great;close enough to all the fun but far enough away that the noise didn't bother us, clean, comfortable, very nice staff. Highly recommend and would stay again in a heartbeat!

This hotel was pretty nice for the price! The room was pretty spacious, the air conditioning was great, and there were decent snack options and drink selections in the fridge. The bathroom was clean and pretty nice. My only complaints are that you can press the "back" button on the remote while streaming, you'll have to exit every time. The other complaint is that the pool you'll have access too is about 7 blocks away from the hotel at a sister hotel of the Chelsea. Kind of annoying, but besides that my wife and I really enjoyed our stay! Would definitely stay again!
